Business Development Intern

You will spend your mornings finding businesses that might need us and your afternoons helping move existing conversations forward. A senior colleague reviews your calls, proposals and lead lists each week, so you leave with a real sense of how business-to-business selling works.

What you will do

  • Research which businesses in a given sector are worth calling, and find the right person to speak to
  • Make outbound calls and write follow-up emails to leads already in the pipeline
  • Draft a first version of sales presentations and proposals for a senior colleague to edit
  • Sit in on client calls to see how a conversation moves from enquiry to meeting
  • Update the CRM the same day, so a conversation is not only in your head
  • Tell the marketing team what prospects are actually asking on calls

What we are looking for

  • A degree, or current study, in business, marketing or a related subject
  • Comfortable picking up the phone to someone you have never spoken to
  • Writes a clear email without much editing needed
  • Keeps a promise: if you say you will call back, you call back
  • Some idea of how a sales conversation is supposed to go

Apply

Apply for Business Development Intern.

A short form and your CV. No cover letter needed: tell us about one thing you have actually done.

  1. 1

    Send the form

Your details, your CV and a few lines about something you have actually done.

  2. 2

    We read every application

Someone who does the work reads it, not a filter. You get an email copy straight away.

  3. 3

A short call if it fits

We call to talk about the role and the work you described.

  4. 4

    A conversation about real work

For most roles, a small practical exercise or a walk through work you have done.

  5. 5

    A decision either way

You hear back from us, whether or not we take it further.
