Get your brand written into the approved make list before the tender goes out.
Most switchgear, cable and luminaire orders are decided by someone other than the person who pays. An MEP consultant lists approved makes in the tender and the contractor buys from that list. The light fittings are the ones an architect approved from a sample. A manufacturer known only to the purchase manager arrives too late.
A 45-minute audit call, a written and scored report within a few working days, then a monthly report against your baseline.
In one paragraph
Marketing for an electrical equipment or lighting manufacturer means getting known to the MEP consultants, contractors, architects and dealers who pick a brand for the buyer. Sales means turning those specifications, samples and dealer orders into purchase orders. GullySales builds both, with specifier outreach, technical product pages, dealer schemes and a tracker for every specified project.
A catalogue PDF and an ELECRAMA stall do not put a brand on those lists. Consultants need test reports they can cite, and architects need a sample in hand. The harder gap is after the specification: nobody chases the contractor when buying starts, and the order goes to whichever dealer offers better credit.
How buyers decide
How electrical equipment manufacturers are chosen.
On a commercial or industrial project, the brand is usually decided months before the purchase order. The MEP consultant writes an approved make list with two or three brands for each item, from LT panels and MCBs to cables and light fittings. The electrical contractor quotes against it. If your brand is not on that list, the contractor cannot offer it without a deviation request, and most do not bother.
In the trade, the electrician and the counter decide. A homeowner or small builder walks into a shop in SP Road, Bhagirath Palace or the local electrical market and buys what the electrician wrote on the slip. Dealers push the brand whose scheme pays them on time. The electrician recommends the one that never brings him back for a complaint call.
Lighting has its own route. A lighting designer chooses on a sample, an IES file and often a mock-up on site. A hotel or retail chain then adds its own brand standards on top. Government street and campus lighting comes through GeM and municipal tenders, where BIS certification, test reports and past supply orders decide who qualifies before price is even opened.
The problem
What usually goes wrong for electrical equipment manufacturers.
What owners tell us on the first call, in their words.
“The consultant who specifies us has moved on and we never met the new one”
One person at a consultancy used to list our panels, and when they left, the next three tenders came out with a competitor's name instead.
“We were specified but the contractor bought another brand”
Our name was on the make list. Nobody called the contractor when he started buying, so he went with the brand whose dealer offered longer credit.
“Architects ask for IES files and we send a PDF catalogue”
A lighting designer wants photometric data to run a calculation, gets a brochure, and moves on to a brand that answers the technical question in the first reply.
“Our dealers stock us but do not push us”
The dealer keeps our switches on the shelf, but electricians walking in are steered to the brand running a better loyalty scheme this quarter.
“Every enquiry from IndiaMART asks only for the lowest price”
The sales team spends its day quoting for small traders comparing rates, while the project enquiries that would be worth a visit wait for a reply.
“We lose government tenders on paperwork, not on price”
A street lighting bid is rejected because a test report or a past supply certificate was missing from the upload, after weeks of preparation.
What we do
What we do for electrical equipment manufacturers.
Everything included for electrical equipment manufacturers, and the result each part is there to produce.
Technical product pages a consultant can cite
A page for each product family with ratings, standards, BIS or ISI details, test reports and downloadable drawings and photometric files, instead of one catalogue PDF.
Result: An MEP consultant or lighting designer finds the data needed to specify you in the first visit.
Specifier database and outreach programme
A list of MEP consultants, architects, lighting designers and electrical contractors in your target cities, with a planned sequence of visits, technical presentations and follow-ups.
Result: Your brand is known to the people who write the make list before the tender is drafted.
Project tracker from specification to purchase order
A record of every project where the brand is specified or under consideration, with the consultant, the contractor and the expected buying month.
Result: Sales calls the contractor when they start buying, not after the order has gone elsewhere.
Dealer and electrician programme
A scheme, counter material and a WhatsApp routine for dealers and electricians, designed with you and tracked against actual secondary sales.
Result: The dealer has a reason to recommend your brand at the counter, not just stock it.
Sample and mock-up request routine
A form and a tracked process for architects and designers asking for a lighting sample or site mock-up, with a follow-up date set for each one.
Result: A sample sent out comes back as an approval or a clear reason, not silence.
Enquiry sorting for IndiaMART and the website
A set of questions and a routing rule that separates project enquiries from small trade price checks and sends each to the right person.
Result: Project buyers get a visit while price-only enquiries get a quick, standard reply.
Tender document kit
A maintained set of certificates, test reports, past supply orders and company documents that GeM and municipal tenders ask for, kept current.
Result: A bid is not rejected for a missing upload.
Monthly report against the baseline
Specifications won, projects converted to orders, dealer sales and enquiry sources, reported every month against the baseline recorded before work began.
Result: You can see which channel is actually producing orders.
How the result is measured
- Projects where the brand is specified
- Specified projects converted to purchase orders
- Enquiries by source and type, project or trade
- Sample and mock-up requests against approvals
- Dealer secondary sales and active electricians
- Tenders submitted against tenders qualified
Recorded as a baseline before work starts, then reported every month against it.
Worth a page and a campaign of their own
LT panels and motor control centres · Distribution boards and MCBs for housing projects · Industrial high-bay and warehouse lighting · Street and area lighting for municipal and campus tenders · Architectural and façade lighting for hotels and retail · Decorative and residential lighting through interior designers · House wires and building cables through dealers · Modular switches for builder tie-ups · Transformers and power equipment for factories
Priority campaigns
Campaigns for what electrical equipment manufacturers most want to sell.
Each one planned around when your buyers decide, and measured against the baseline.
MEP consultant specification campaign
A technical presentation, a short product comparison sheet and a planned visit schedule for consultants in two or three target cities.
Result: More tenders list your brand among the approved makes.
Warehouse and factory lighting campaign
Search advertising and LinkedIn outreach to plant heads and facility managers planning a lighting upgrade, with an energy saving calculator on the landing page.
Result: Industrial buyers reach you with a project in hand, not a price check.
Architect and interior designer lighting campaign
A lookbook of installed projects, a sample request offer and an experience centre visit for architects working on hotels, offices and villas.
Result: Designers try your fittings before they commit to a specification.
Dealer scheme launch campaign
A new dealer or electrician scheme announced through distributor meets, WhatsApp and counter material, with sign-ups tracked by dealer.
Result: The scheme reaches every dealer, not only the ones the sales team visits.
Municipal and campus street lighting tender campaign
Tender tracking on GeM and state portals, a ready document kit, and a follow-up with the engineering department after each bid.
Result: Every relevant tender gets a complete, on-time submission.
Beyond search
Where we reach buyers of electrical equipment manufacturers, beyond Google.
Search matters, but it is rarely the only way this industry's buyers find a supplier.
MEP consultants and electrical design firms
We build a list of the consultants who draft tenders in your target cities and prepare the technical material they need to add a new make.
Electrical contractors
We prepare contractor outreach and a project follow-up routine, since the contractor decides between approved makes and often requests deviations.
Architects, interior designers and lighting designers
We prepare a lighting portfolio, sample kits and an invitation to see installed work for the people who approve fittings on a design.
Distributors, dealers and electricians
We prepare dealer meet material, counter displays and an electrician engagement routine that runs through WhatsApp.
Trade fairs and government portals
We plan stand follow-up for fairs such as ELECRAMA and keep your GeM listing and tender document set ready for public buyers.
