Painting contractors · Local SEO

Win the map for the streets your crew can reach without losing a morning.

Local SEO for a painting contractor is the Google Business Profile, the service area and the review flow that decide whether you appear when somebody a few streets away searches for a painter. GullySales sets the working radius with you, fixes what the Profile says and gets finished-room photographs onto it.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What local SEO means

Local SEO is the work of making your business show up for searches that name your town or locality, such as a service plus an area name. GullySales sets up locality pages, local citations and map listings so nearby customers find you before a competitor across town.

For painting contractors

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Three suburbs are worth serving and the fourth costs you a day”

Ladders, drums and four men crossing the city in morning traffic turn a small job eighteen kilometres out into a loss. The radius is a costing decision before it is a search one.

  • “A painter has no shopfront, so the listing is the shop”

The business runs from a house and a godown, and no homeowner visits either. What they judge instead is the Profile: the photographs, the reviews and whether anyone picks up.

  • “Finished-room photographs belong on the Profile too”

Plenty of homeowners decide inside Maps and never reach your website. A hall in the next layout, shot after the second coat, works harder there than anywhere else you could post it.

What we do

What we deliver for painting contractors.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A working radius agreed with you

The areas your crew reaches without losing a morning to traffic, set as the service area on the listing and written into how you quote.

Result: Calls come from streets you can reach and price properly.

  2. A service area listing for a business run from home

Address hidden and verified, the areas you serve listed, and the category set to painting contractor rather than a general builder.

Result: You are on the map without strangers arriving at your house.

  3. Finished-room photographs added as jobs complete

A routine for the supervisor to shoot the finished hall or the exterior and get it onto the listing with the locality named.

Result: Somebody searching nearby sees a job like theirs, done near them.

  4. A review ask on the last day on site

Asked while the customer is walking the finished rooms, with the link ready on the supervisor's phone instead of sent later.

Result: Reviews come from customers who have just seen the work.

  5. Maps calls counted apart from the rest

Calls and messages from the listing tracked separately from referrals and website enquiries, against the baseline recorded before work started.

Result: You can tell whether the listing brought the job.

How the result is measured

  • Map pack ranking
  • Local search visibility
  • Enquiries by locality

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What Google weighs here

How a homeowner finds a painter nearby, and what to fix first.

Painter, not paint shop
Choose painter as the primary category and add waterproofing only if you do it. Someone wanting a wall repaired and a builder wanting a new block painted use different words.
Work types as services
List interior painting, exterior painting, texture, waterproofing and wood polish separately, in plain words. People search the job and the locality.
Paint brand names
Say which brands you use, but do not imply you are the company's dealer or applicator unless you are. Customers ask for a particular brand.
Finished-room photographs
Add photographs of finished rooms and exteriors, with the locality named. Before and after pictures of a wall are fair for painting, if the client agrees.
Justdial and Sulekha
Households use both to compare painters. Keep name, number and service list the same as the profile.

Who it is for

This is written for these painting contractors.

  • Independent house painting contractors
  • Interior and exterior painting specialists
  • Commercial and office painting contractors
  • Waterproofing and painting combined services
  • Painting contractors working with builders
  • Texture and decorative painting specialists
  • Industrial and factory painting contractors
  • Painting franchises and branded dealer networks

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You do not travel beyond one locality, and a profile naming several would bring calls you decline.
  • You will not reply to reviews, and a profile whose reviews go unanswered reads as abandoned.

How it works

How the local SEO work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Write down what is true

Each branch's real address, signboard name, phone, hours and owning Google account go into one record you sign off. Every later listing is copied from it.

  2. 2

    Search as your buyer does

We search each branch on a phone from points around it, in your buyers' words, and note who appears with what reviews and photos.

  3. 3

    Fix the profile first

Ownership first, then name, address, pin, phone, hours and business type. Google can suspend a profile with extra words in its name or an address that is not a real premises.

  4. 4

Build the branch pages and match the listings

Each real branch gets its own page, and the other listings are changed to agree with it. We write none for towns without a branch, because Google treats near-identical pages as doorway pages.

  5. 5

    Ask, reply and measure

We agree with each branch who asks for reviews, when and how. Results are set against the baseline recorded before work began, and the branch that is behind gets the next round.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

We work from home. Can we still be on Maps?
Yes. Hide the address, list the areas you serve and get the listing verified. A painting business is expected to travel to the customer, and the service area setting exists for exactly that.
Should we list every area in the city?
No. An area you will not drive to still produces calls, and turning them down costs time you would rather spend quoting nearby. Three or four areas served properly beat a whole city served badly.
Should waterproofing be a separate listing?
No, unless it is a separate business with its own address. List it as a service on the painting profile, with a photograph. A second listing from one home address risks being treated as a duplicate.
Customers ask for a quote on WhatsApp from the profile. How should we handle it?
Put the number on the profile, and reply with what a quote depends on and an offer to visit. A painter who quotes a rate without seeing the walls loses either the job or the margin.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Your next practical step

Tell us what you are trying to grow, and we will read it before we call.

Eight short steps, mostly taps. Skip anything you would rather answer on the call.
