Law firms · Local SEO

Let a person near your court or chambers find the right firm for their matter.

Local SEO for a law firm is the work of keeping your Google Business Profile, office address and city pages accurate wherever a person searches for a lawyer nearby. GullySales works on the profile, the listings and the practice area pages for your city, always within the limits the Bar Council sets on advertising.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What local SEO means

Local SEO is the work of making your business show up for searches that name your town or locality, such as a service plus an area name. GullySales sets up locality pages, local citations and map listings so nearby customers find you before a competitor across town.

Last updated 17 Oct 2026. Rules for this trade differ by state and professional body, and they change. We describe restrictions in general terms, so check the current position with your own council or adviser before you publish anything.

For law firms

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The person searches by court, locality and problem”

A tenant served an eviction notice types the problem together with a locality or the court complex nearby. A firm whose profile and pages name only the city is missed by that search. A firm that states the courts it appears before and the areas it serves is matched to the person holding the notice.

  • “A profile is a statement of fact, not a pitch”

A Google Business Profile carries a name, address, opening hours, phone number and areas of practice. Add promotional lines or claims about outcomes and a factual listing turns into solicitation. Keep the profile to the facts an advocate may state, and check the wording with your own council before it goes live.

  • “An old address sends a client to a locked door”

A firm that moved chambers but left the previous address on a directory costs a visitor a wasted journey. The firm name spelled three ways across listings looks like three firms, and a person checking before a first consultation cannot tell which one is real.

  • “Reviews on a map listing raise a professional question”

A map listing invites public comments about the firm. A lawyer who asks for praise, or who replies with details of a matter, creates confidentiality and advertising problems. Decide with your own council what the firm will do about reviews, and never discuss a client matter in a public reply.

What we do

What we deliver for law firms.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Google Business Profile set-up and correction

The firm name, address, phone, opening hours and practice areas entered exactly as they appear on your letterhead and enrolment records, with no promotional wording.

Result: The profile matches your letterhead word for word.

  2. Listing consistency check

A written list of every place your firm name, address and phone appear online, with each difference marked and corrected in turn.

Result: Every listing shows the same name, address and phone.

  3. City and locality practice area pages

A page for each practice area that names the courts, tribunals and localities you serve, written to explain the process rather than to ask for work.

Result: A person in a named locality finds a page that speaks to their matter.

  4. Chambers directions page

Plain directions to the chambers: the nearest landmark, the floor, where reception sits and what a first-time visitor should carry.

Result: A first-time visitor reaches the right door without phoning for directions.

  5. A written note on handling reviews

A one-page note, drafted against your own council's guidance, on whether the firm replies to reviews and what may never be said in a reply.

Result: Everyone at the firm knows what may and may not be said in public.

How the result is measured

  • Map pack ranking
  • Local search visibility
  • Enquiries by locality

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Searches your buyers type

Local searches by court, locality and problem decide who is found.

A person with a notice rarely types a firm name. They type the problem and a place, and the answer is a page or profile that states both.

tenant eviction notice lawyer near me
Answered by a practice area page for tenancy matters that names the localities and courts you serve, and by an accurate map profile.
family court advocate in [your city]
Answered by a page explaining how a family court matter proceeds, with the court you appear before and directions to chambers.
trademark registration lawyer [city]
Answered by an intellectual property page that explains the steps and names the office a founder can walk into.
property documents verification advocate [locality]
Answered by a page for buyers checking title, written as an explanation of the process and not as an offer of work.
[firm name] chambers address and phone
Answered by a contact page and a map profile that match the letterhead word for word, so a person checking the firm finds one consistent answer.

Who it is for

This is written for these law firms.

  • Litigation and dispute resolution practices
  • Corporate and M&A law firms
  • Family law practices
  • Intellectual property law firms
  • Real estate and property law practices
  • Tax and compliance law practices
  • Boutique single-practice-area firms

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Your chambers address is not settled, because a map listing that changes again soon sends visitors to the wrong door.
  • Nobody at the firm can reply to a call or message from the listing, so a found firm would still be lost.
  • You hope the listing will carry promotional claims, which the advertising rules do not allow a lawyer to publish.

How it works

How the local SEO work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Write down what is true

Each branch's real address, signboard name, phone, hours and owning Google account go into one record you sign off. Every later listing is copied from it.

  2. 2

    Search as your buyer does

We search each branch on a phone from points around it, in your buyers' words, and note who appears with what reviews and photos.

  3. 3

    Fix the profile first

Ownership first, then name, address, pin, phone, hours and business type. Google can suspend a profile with extra words in its name or an address that is not a real premises.

  4. 4

Build the branch pages and match the listings

Each real branch gets its own page, and the other listings are changed to agree with it. We write none for towns without a branch, because Google treats near-identical pages as doorway pages.

  5. 5

    Ask, reply and measure

We agree with each branch who asks for reviews, when and how. Results are set against the baseline recorded before work began, and the branch that is behind gets the next round.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Should we add photos of our chambers to the map listing?
Photos of the entrance, the reception and the consultation room help a visitor recognise the place. Leave out client files, case papers and any person who has not agreed to appear. Advertising rules differ by profession and state, so check what a profile may carry with your own council.
We have offices in two cities. Do we need two profiles?
Each office a client can visit gets its own profile, its own phone number and its own city page. Do not list a city where there is no staffed office, because a person who arrives there finds nobody to meet.
May we list the courts where we appear?
Naming the courts and tribunals where you appear is a statement of fact about your practice, and it helps a searcher match you to their matter. Confirm with your own adviser how your Bar Council expects it to be worded.
Do we need a separate page for each court we appear before?
A page for each court is worth writing only where you handle a distinct kind of matter there. The page should explain the process in plain terms. A thin page repeated for every court adds nothing for the reader and reads as a listing of places, not a firm.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
