Photography and videography studios · Branding

Your style is the product, so say what it is before a couple guesses.

Branding for a studio is deciding what your work is known for, and making that clear before a client opens the gallery. GullySales settles the style, the price position and the name you shoot under, then carries it through the website, the reels, the proposal and the album box.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What branding means

Branding is what a customer remembers about your business beyond the product, including your name, colours, tone of voice and what you are known for locally. GullySales sets or corrects this once and applies it consistently across your website, signage and adverts so the business looks like one company everywhere.

For photography and videography studios

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Candid and traditional are two different businesses”

A studio promising both shows a gallery that pleases neither. Say which one you are built around, and keep the other as a clearly named second service if you still want it.

  • “Your own name or the studio's name is a real decision”

A studio named after its founder cannot send an associate without explaining why. A studio with its own name can grow a team, and has to earn trust without a face.

  • “The album and the box are the last thing you make”

A family shows that album to relatives for twenty years. The cover, the box and the handover keep producing referrals long after the reel has stopped being watched.

What we do

What we deliver for photography and videography studios.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A positioning note naming your style and who it suits

One page on the work you want, the budget band you are aiming at, and the shoots you will turn down to protect it.

Result: Everyone quoting for the studio says the same thing.

  2. A portfolio edited down to the work you want more of

Older and off-brand galleries retired, the strongest recent work brought forward, and a set order for how a visitor moves through it.

Result: The gallery argues for the bookings you want.

  3. One treatment across reels, website and album

A consistent colour grade, typeface, watermark and music approach, written down so an editor or an associate can follow it.

Result: Work from three people still looks like one studio.

  4. A proposal and price sheet in the studio's look

The quote document, the package sheet and the booking terms designed to match the website, with plain wording on what each package covers.

Result: The paperwork looks like the pictures.

  5. Album, box and handover designed as part of the work

The album cover, the box, the pen drive and how the delivery is presented, treated as the last piece of the job rather than an afterthought.

Result: The handover is worth photographing and sharing.

How the result is measured

  • Recognition in customer feedback
  • Consistency across channels
  • Repeat enquiries by name

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Positioning in one sentence

The sentence a photography studio can fill in so a couple knows what your gallery is for.

We shoot [weddings, products or portraits] in [style] for [type of client] in [city], and unlike [another studio] we [one thing the client gets every time].

Who it is for
Couples planning a wedding, a brand needing product shots, a family wanting a portrait, a builder wanting site photographs. Pick the work you most want to be hired for.
What you shoot and in what style
Name the style in words a client uses: candid weddings, traditional ceremony coverage, studio product on white. A gallery mixing all three confuses the person choosing.
What a client gets that another studio's gallery does not
It might be the same photographer who came to the meeting, a stated count of edited photographs in the quote, or a planning call before the event. Pick one you do on every job.
The proof you can show
A full wedding gallery, not just highlights, a sample album, and written reviews from couples who agree. Show the weaker moments of a day too, so the gallery looks real.
Words clients ignore
'Capturing moments', 'timeless memories' and 'passion for photography' are on every site. Replace them with your style, the number of shooters and what the couple receives.
The name and tagline test
Names with 'Clicks' and 'Frames' are everywhere. Check Instagram and WedMeGood for lookalikes, and see whether your name works when spoken aloud in a wedding hall.

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is reply time, a follow-up sequence, the page buyers land on or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the branding work runs

  1. 1

    Interview customers and team

We talk to real buyers, won and lost, and to people inside the business who deal with customers daily.

  2. 2

    Review the competitive field

We look at how the nearest competitors present themselves so the position is not accidentally identical.

  3. 3

    Draft the position

A first version of the positioning statement and messaging pillars is written and checked against what customers actually said.

  4. 4

    Test it against real conversations

The draft is tried out in a real sales call or two before it is finalised, since a position that does not survive a real conversation needs rework.

  5. 5

    Hand over the rollout brief

The final position, pillars and not-for list are documented for your team and any agency to apply consistently.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

We want to move up to bigger weddings. What has to change?
The work you show and the work you decline. A studio displaying every small function it has covered will keep being asked for those. Put up the weddings closest to what you want next, and let the proposal and the album match that level.
Do we need a new logo?
Less than you think. In this trade the identity is the work, the colour treatment, the way an album is handed over and the way a quote is written. Sort those out, and a logo refresh takes an afternoon afterwards.
Should our name be the studio's or the lead photographer's?
If couples book the person, use the photographer's name and show the team beneath. If you want the studio to run without you, build a studio name and say who shoots. Choose before printing albums, since the name on albums and invoices is hard to change later.
Should we watermark photos and put our name on delivered albums?
A small, consistent mark on web images is normal, and an imprint on an album's spine or box helps referrals. Put copyright and usage terms in the contract, including whether you may show the couple's photos. Ask before publishing faces, especially children's.
Do we need ads before the wedding season?
Yes, if the good dates are already filling up for competitors. Ads bring enquiries fast; the portfolio and reviews are what convert them once they arrive.
How long before we rank for wedding photography in our city?
It takes sustained work on a sound site, because the search is competitive in most cities. The Google Business Profile and reviews usually move faster, and we track both against your baseline.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
