VLSI and chip design service companies · CRM

Record who sits in the buyer's team and where the vendor application stands.

A CRM for a chip design services firm holds the managers, procurement contacts, vendor applications and engagements in one record. GullySales sets up the fields and stages for a long, relationship-led sale and cleans what exists.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

For VLSI and chip design service companies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The sale has two paths”

One path is technical, with the manager and the engineers. The other is commercial, with procurement and security. A CRM that tracks only one hides the other, and a deal stalls at the stage nobody watches.

  • “Relationships outlast jobs”

A manager who moves companies is still a contact. The record should follow the person, with their old and new company, instead of being lost with the first role.

  • “Confidential details need care”

Notes on a client's plans should be minimal and access limited. A CRM filled with client design details becomes a risk.

  • “Applications go quiet”

A vendor application can wait with no news for a long period. A dated next step and an owner stop it from being forgotten.

What we do

What we deliver for VLSI and chip design service companies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Contact and company fields

Fields for flow of interest, tools, role, previous company, source and permission to contact.

Result: A record shows who the person is and why they matter.

  2. Two-track stages

Technical and commercial stages kept side by side for each opportunity.

Result: The team sees which path is stuck.

  3. Vendor application tracker

A view of each target company, documents sent, questionnaire status and next date.

Result: Every application has an owner.

  4. Access rules

Who can view which records and what notes are allowed about client plans.

    Result: Sensitive notes stay limited.

  5. Contact import and clean-up

Existing contacts from email, phones and sheets loaded, de-duplicated and tagged by source.

Result: The firm's relationships sit in one place.

  6. Engagement history

A record of each engagement with dates and team, without design details.

Result: Past work is available for the next conversation.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries logged in the CRM
  • Data completeness
  • Reports generated from CRM data

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Fields worth keeping

Fields that keep two tracks of one sale in view.

Design contact and procurement contact
Both are filled by the account owner. They let you see who judges competence and who judges risk, and tell you when only one of them has been met.
Flow and block type
Filled at the first call. It lets you match the next opening to an engineer on your bench and find past enquiries in the same flow.
Vendor application stage
Filled by whoever handles paperwork. It shows documents sent, queries raised and the date of the last reply, so nothing sits unnoticed in a buyer's portal.
NDA signed and scope of disclosure
Filled by the legal contact. It tells the team what may be discussed with a buyer and what must stay in general terms.
Last project and next likely need
Filled after delivery. It lets the account owner write to a manager when a new block is likely, instead of waiting for a requisition.

Who it is for

This is written for these VLSI and chip design service companies.

  • Fabless semiconductor start-ups
  • Product companies building SoCs and embedded boards
  • Global semiconductor firms with India design centres
  • Automotive and electronics firms moving into custom silicon
  • Verification and validation outsourcing buyers
  • Physical design and implementation teams
  • FPGA and prototyping project owners
  • Academia-linked research labs and incubators

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Client details are covered by NDA, and nobody has decided which fields may be stored, so the record would be either empty or unsafe.
  • Your sales is carried by one founder's personal contacts, and nobody else would open or update the record.
  • You have no one to chase the vendor paperwork, so a tracker would only show applications stuck for months.

How it works

How the CRM work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Map the sales process

We sit with the people who sell and write down how a deal moves from enquiry to payment, including where it stalls.

  2. 2

    Agree stages, fields and owners

Each stage gets a name your team already uses and a proof that the deal has left it. We agree which fields are required at which stage, and who may change what.

  3. 3

    Build on a copy

Pipeline, fields and views are built on a trial copy where the CRM offers one, or in a separate pipeline where the plan allows. Live work stays untouched.

  4. 4

Connect channels, then switch on automations

Channels are connected first. Each automation is then switched on separately, so a misfiring rule is easy to find.

  5. 5

    Test with real deals

The people who will use the CRM run open deals through it. Gaps are fixed before the whole team switches over.

  6. 6

    Switch over and trim

Once real use shows which fields stay empty and which stages nobody uses, those are cut and the handover record is updated.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales management. A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3 · you are here

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Which CRM should we use?
One the team will open and one that supports field permissions. GullySales looks at your size and security needs before recommending, and sets the fields before loading data.
Can we store NDAs in the CRM?
Store a record that an NDA exists, with the date and the file's location in a controlled folder. Keep the document itself where your legal team controls access.
Who should have access?
Only people who need it. Agree roles with your legal adviser, remove access when someone leaves, and keep a record of changes.
Can the CRM hold an NDA?
Store the fact that an NDA exists, its date and its scope in a field, and keep the document itself in the legal folder. A copy of the signed paper in the sales tool widens who can read it, which your own agreement may not allow.
Who should see engineer details in the record?
Only the account owner and the delivery lead. Engineer names and skills appear in proposals, but a full list in the shared record invites poaching and mistakes. Set access by role from the start.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
