HMC machining companies · Manufacturing

Sell big housings to a few buyers who take months to say yes.

Your HMC shop does not get a hundred enquiries a week. It gets a few serious ones in a quarter, from a tractor maker, a valve company or a compressor plant, for a gearbox housing worth more than the whole of last month's job work. The buyer takes weeks to visit, a first article takes weeks more, and the shop is left guessing where it stands.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Realistic editorial illustration of cnc machining companies at work in India

In one paragraph

HMC machining marketing makes yours one of the few shops an OEM considers for large housings, blocks and casings that need pallet-based horizontal machining. HMC machining sales is a long, account-based sale that ends in a qualified vendor and a schedule. GullySales prepares the target list, the introduction pack and the follow-up for each named account.

That makes the HMC sale unlike any other machining sale. The shop is not competing for a clicked enquiry. It is trying to be on the short list of the plants that buy large machined castings, and to be remembered when their current vendor slips.

How buyers decide

How HMC machining companies are chosen.

The buyer is a vendor development manager or a sourcing head, with a quality manager and a design engineer who also have a say. New names reach them through an existing vendor, an industry meet or a direct approach with a casting drawing and a clear machine list.

Before an order, the buyer visits to check pallet changers, fixtures, the CMM, the tool management and how castings are stored and tracked. A first article inspection report, taken on a CMM, decides whether production starts. For some customers a process capability study and a full quality plan follow.

Once in, the shop is hard to replace, because fixtures and programs stay with it. This is why the best HMC shops treat the first two years as a relationship, not a transaction: visits, honest delivery warnings and a quick answer when a casting arrives with a defect.

The problem

What usually goes wrong for HMC machining companies.

What owners tell us on the first call, in their words.

  • “We know twenty plants could use us and have approached three”

The owner's time goes to production, so cold approaches to the other seventeen never happen.

  • “Nobody has asked us for a quote in two months”

The pipeline is a few people the owner knows, and when one of them pauses, the shop feels it within a week.

  • “Our capability is described in a brochure from years ago”

The pallet size, the number of axes, the CMM and the largest casting we machine are not in a form a sourcing head can forward.

  • “First article reports take too long to explain”

The buyer's quality team asks follow-up questions, answers come in pieces over several days, and the confidence we built at the visit slips.

  • “One OEM decides our whole year”

If a single large customer shifts a casting to another vendor, a pallet system that cost crores stands half used.

  • “We are strong on the machine and quiet on everything else”

Buyers cannot see how we handle casting defects, scrap, delivery or the cost of a rejected piece, and these are what they worry about.

What we do

What we do for HMC machining companies.

Everything included for HMC machining companies.

  1. A target account list

Plants that buy large machined castings in your region and beyond, with the buyer's role, the parts they buy, who supplies them now and what you know about their timelines.

  2. An introduction pack for sourcing heads

A short document with the HMC list, pallet and part sizes, inspection equipment, a sample first article report and the casting types you machine.

  3. Account plans for the top ten targets

For each account, who decides, what they buy, what stage the conversation is at and the next step with a date.

  4. A casting-defect and scrap procedure note

A clear written statement of how you inspect incoming castings, report defects to the foundry and handle scrap.

  5. Visit and review routine

A checklist for what the buyer will look at on a plant visit, a sheet for answering first article queries in one place, and a review sheet kept for each approved account.

  6. A search and listing presence for HMC terms

Pages for horizontal machining of housings, valve bodies and pump casings, plus accurate listings, so that buyers who search find you.

How the result is measured

  • Target accounts approached and replied
  • Plant visits and first article requests
  • First articles passed
  • Approved vendor registrations
  • Share of pallet hours by customer
  • Casting rejections raised to foundries

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Worth a page and a campaign of their own

Gearbox and axle housings · Valve bodies and pump casings · Pallet-based high volume machining · First article inspection on a CMM · Casting defect and scrap handling procedure · Fixture design and ownership · Vendor approval with large OEMs · Supplying more than one plant of the same group · Long-term supply agreements

Priority campaigns

Campaigns for what HMC machining companies most want to sell.

Each one planned around when your buyers decide, and measured against the baseline.

  • Named-account outreach

Personal messages and short documents to a defined list of plants, sent to sourcing and vendor development roles, with follow-up after a response.

  • Second-source offer to OEMs

A pitch to buyers who depend on one machining vendor for a key housing, offering a trial lot on a non-critical part first.

  • Foundry partnership campaign

Outreach to foundries that sell castings and want a trusted machining partner to offer machined parts to their own customers.

  • Plant visit invitation

A plain invitation to quality and sourcing teams to visit and see the HMC line, with the agenda written down.

  • Industry meet follow-up

A routine for contacts made at engineering expos and supplier meets, with a note and a sample prepared for each contact.

Beyond search

Where we reach buyers of HMC machining companies, beyond Google.

Search matters, but it is rarely the only way this industry's buyers find a supplier.

  • Sourcing and vendor development heads

Each plant is researched for the parts it buys and the suppliers it uses now, and the message is written for the right role there.

  • Design and quality engineers

The engineer who can say no to a shop's capability reads pallet size, axes and CMM range first, so the technical sheet leads with those.

  • Foundries and forging units

Casting suppliers get asked about finished machining by their own customers. Outreach offers a partner for that request.

  • Group companies with several plants

Plants of the same group are mapped, so an approved first article at one can be mentioned when you write to the others.

  • Trade bodies and supplier meets

When a large buyer or an industry body invites suppliers to a meet, the pack and the one-page capability sheet are ready beforehand.

Who it is for

This is written for these HMC machining companies.

  • Tractor and farm equipment housing machinists
  • Commercial vehicle gearbox and axle housing shops
  • Valve body and pump casing machining units
  • Compressor and engine block machining shops
  • Wind and power transmission casting machinists
  • Construction equipment and mining component suppliers
  • Railway component machining vendors
  • Contract HMC shops working for several foundries

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for HMC machining companies

  1. 1

Add up the machine hours by account

The hours each current account takes on the HMC are added up, with the plants you have already approached listed beside them.

  2. 2

    Name the targets

A researched list of plants and roles, ranked by fit with your pallet size, your parts and your location.

  3. 3

    Prepare a sample inspection report

An introduction pack with a sample inspection report that a sourcing head can forward without calling you.

  4. 4

    Run the approaches

Personal outreach to each account, with the next step written down and followed up.

  5. 5

    Manage the approved accounts

A visit checklist, a template for warning a buyer early about a late casting, and a list of further parts to propose for each account.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

Engagement options

Ways to work with us.

Pick the size of commitment that fits. Every option starts with your brief and a conversation.

  1. Option 1

    The conversation on its own

A call after you send your brief. It says honestly whether you need outside help, and many fixes are ones your own team can make.

  2. Option 2

    One fix, scoped

Start with the fix that matters most, such as reply time or follow-up. The fee is in writing before anything starts.

  3. Option 3

    An ongoing programme

We run the work, report against the baseline, and you renew on the numbers. The term and the reporting are agreed in writing first.

  4. Option 4

Guidance for your own team or agency

We plan, brief and check the work of your in-house team or current agency, instead of replacing them.

FAQ

Questions HMC machining companies ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Does advertising work for a shop like ours?
Not as the main route. Buyers for large housings are few, so a researched list and personal outreach reach them better. Search presence helps with the buyers who are looking, but it is not the core.
Can you tell us which plants buy what we machine?
We research plants, products and public information, and tell you what is a fact and what is a guess. Your own knowledge of the trade tells us where to look first.
How long does approval with a large OEM take?
It varies by customer, and each OEM has its own audit and approval method. We plan the follow-up around their process and you carry out the technical steps.
We have only one HMC. Is it worth this effort?
The sale is long whatever the size, so it is worth it if you want more than one customer's work on that machine. If your one HMC is fully booked by a single buyer, the first step is to protect that account.
Can you help us write the technical compliance for a tender?
We prepare the document set and the follow-up, while your engineers write the technical response and the price. We do not monitor tender portals.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
To start, last month's enquiries in any format and time with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
