Water treatment solutions providers · Sales process
Turn more site surveys into signed installations, before a rival quotes.
A sales process for a water treatment company is the fixed set of steps from enquiry to signed installation. It covers how quickly a survey is scheduled, how the quote is presented, and how a hesitant buyer is followed up. GullySales writes it with the people who run the surveys, and gives you the record that shows where a quote went quiet.
Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What sales process means
A sales process is the fixed sequence of steps, such as enquiry, site visit, quote and order, that every deal is expected to pass through in the same order. GullySales writes this sequence down for your business and checks that every salesperson actually follows it.

For water treatment solutions providers
Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.
“The survey needs to be scheduled within days, not weeks”
A facility manager comparing several vendors moves ahead with whoever surveys and quotes first, making early scheduling one of the most decisive steps in the entire process.
“The quote should be followed up within a week”
A commercial quote left with no scheduled follow-up often sits in an inbox until forgotten, especially when a committee needs to discuss it internally.
“Maintenance renewal needs its own step in the process”
The sales process should not end at installation. A reminder and a renewal conversation scheduled well ahead of the contract's expiry protects recurring revenue.
What we do
What we deliver for water treatment solutions providers.
Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.
Written sales process checklist
A step-by-step checklist from enquiry to signed installation, covering the survey, the quote and the follow-up.
Result: Existing staff can run the same process without relying on memory.
Survey booking script
A short script for confirming a site survey quickly on the first call, before a comparing buyer moves ahead with another vendor.
Result: The buyer books a survey while their interest is still active.
Written quote format with running cost
A standard quote format showing upfront and running costs together, matched to what the buyer type actually decides on.
Result: A buyer sees the full picture instead of just the installation price.
Follow-up schedule for the comparison period
A structured set of follow-up touchpoints for the period a commercial buyer typically takes to decide.
Result: The enquiry stays warm instead of going quiet while a committee decides.
Maintenance renewal step built into the process
A defined point in the process for a renewal conversation ahead of a contract's expiry, so it never depends on someone remembering.
Result: Recurring revenue does not depend on a customer calling first.
How the result is measured
- Deals following the process
- Time spent at each step
- Drop-off rate by step
Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.
Steps of a sale
Take a water problem from the first call to an installed plant and a signed AMC in fixed steps.
- Problem enquiry
- Ask the water source, whether borewell, municipal, tanker or a mix, and what the user notices, such as hardness, smell or a PCB notice. Record the site type and the daily use in litres.
- Water test
- Test TDS, hardness, iron and pH on site, or send a sample to a lab for an ETP or STP job. Record the results on the enquiry, since the plant design depends on them.
- Site survey
- Check the space for the plant, the power supply, tank positions and drain points. Note who approves on site, such as the facility manager or the RWA committee.
- Proposal with plant specification
- Send the capacity, the technology such as RO, softener, UF or ETP, the membrane and pump brands, and the running cost of salt, chemicals and power. Record which items the buyer asked to change.
- Order and commissioning
- Confirm the advance, the civil work the customer must finish and the installation date. Record the commissioning test results alongside the original water report.
- AMC signing
- Offer the AMC at handover with what it covers: service visits, membrane and filter changes, chemicals. Record the start date and the renewal date in the AMC register.

Not for
It is not the right fit if.
- One technician does survey, installation and service, and a formal step list would only add paperwork for the same person.
- Your quotes are written afresh each time with no common format, so a process cannot yet be taught.
How it works
How the sales process work runs
The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.
- 1
Study current deal flow
We trace how deals actually move today, comparing across reps and outcomes.
- 2
Define the stages
Clear stages and criteria are designed to match how deals genuinely progress and close.
- 3
Configure the CRM
The process is built into your CRM so it is enforced structurally, not just documented.
- 4
Train the team
Reps are trained on the new process and why each stage exists.
- 5
Review adoption
We check after rollout whether the process is being followed and adjust where it is not.
Proof

Where this fits
Three pieces of sales work, in this order.
This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.
Step 1
Sales audit
Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.
Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.
Step 2 · you are here
Sales process design
One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.
Start here if every salesperson sells differently.
Step 3
Sales management
A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.
Start here if the team has targets and no routine.
