Your customers call you once, and only when something has gone wrong.

Nobody wakes up wanting a borewell, a fire NOC or a signboard. The need arrives with a deadline attached: the tap has run dry, the inspector is coming on Friday, the shop opens in nine days. The buyer searches once, asks one person they trust, and calls the first two names that look credible.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Realistic editorial illustration of astrologers at work in India

In one paragraph

This page is for owners of trades that do not fit a standard sector: the astrologer, the rig owner, the fire safety contractor, the wedding planner. What differs is that buyers rarely shop around for long, so the work goes to whoever is found first and answers first.

That makes these trades different from a clinic or a showroom. Many of them sell to a household once in years, or to a housing society that decides through a committee, or to a procurement team that wants references before it will even open your quote. The enquiry is urgent, the buyer is nervous, and the competitor who picks up the phone wins.

For example, a fire safety contractor in Peenya gets a call from a factory owner whose insurance survey is due. The owner leaves a message with your office and hears nothing that day. A rival sends a site visit slot on WhatsApp the same evening, and by the time your quote reaches him he has already signed. Most of what we do for these trades is making sure that first reply goes out quickly.

How buyers choose

What decides who wins in these trades.

  1. The first credible reply wins

The buyer has a deadline, not a long search. A call picked up, a WhatsApp answered the same hour and a site visit offered with a day and a time will beat a better firm that replies tomorrow.

  2. Someone else decides before the buyer does

The fit-out contractor picks the signboard maker. The electrician names the CCTV installer. The elder in the family names the astrologer. Knowing who the real recommender is tells you where to spend effort.

  3. Proof has to be phone-able

A society committee or a procurement team wants a reference it can call, a licence number it can check and a photograph of a finished site. Claims on a brochure do not carry a committee vote.

  4. The deal is won at the site, not the website

A survey, a demonstration, a rig visit or a family meeting is where the order is decided. The website and the enquiry form only have to get you invited, and the follow-up afterwards has to be written down.

  5. Renewals are quieter than new jobs and worth more

An AMC, a guarding contract, a pickup schedule and a yearly horoscope all come back if someone remembers the date. In many of these trades that date lives in a diary or in the owner's head.

Questions

Questions owners in these trades ask.

Not answered here? Ask on WhatsApp or call, and you will speak to someone who does the work.

My customers only call when there is an emergency. Is marketing even worth it?
Yes, but the aim changes. You cannot make a dry borewell or a failed fire inspection happen. You can be the name the buyer already knows when it does, through Maps, referrals from the people who recommend you and proof that is easy to find.
Which of these trades should rely on referrals rather than ads?
Wedding planners, astrologers and security agencies depend heavily on referrals and past clients. Ads can add reach, but a record of who referred whom and a polite follow-up is where we would start.
Do I need a website if most of my work comes by phone?
You need somewhere a buyer can check that you are real: your services, your licence or registration where one applies, photographs of finished work and a number that is answered. It does not need to be large.
I sell to housing societies and companies, not households. What changes?
More people decide, and they decide slowly. You need a proposal a committee can read, references to call and a follow-up that reaches the person who actually holds the budget, not only the one who first enquired.
Can you help with regulated work like fire safety or security guarding?
We can help buyers find you and check your credentials. Which licences and approvals your work needs is a matter for your own adviser or the authority concerned, and we do not make compliance claims for you.
