HRTech startups · WhatsApp marketing

Reach the owner and the HR manager on the app they already answer.

WhatsApp marketing for an HRTech startup means using the app for permitted messages, quick answers and sharing material with small and mid-sized company buyers. GullySales plans the message flows and the handover to a person, and checks the platform's current rules before anything goes out.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For HRTech startups

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The owner answers WhatsApp and ignores email”

A factory or retail owner who approves software may reply to a WhatsApp message the same day and never open an email. A sales process that relies on email alone leaves that signer unreached.

  • “Sending a pitch to a bought list backfires”

Unwanted messages bring blocks and reports, and can put the number at risk. Check the platform's current rules, message only people who have agreed to hear from you, and make stopping simple.

  • “A forwarded one-pager does the selling”

The HR manager shares your short note or demo clip with the owner in a group. A clear, small file that reads well on a phone travels further than a long deck.

  • “A support message is also a sales moment”

A customer asking how to correct a payslip is also a candidate for another product module or a referral. Handled well, support chats build trust. Handled badly, they lose the account.

What we do

What we deliver for HRTech startups.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. An opt-in route

Forms and call scripts that ask for permission to message, with the choice stated clearly.

Result: Each contact record shows when and how permission was given.

  2. Message templates for sales

Short messages for enquiries, demo reminders, a follow-up and a sample report, written for a phone screen.

Result: A set of approved templates in use.

  3. A phone-ready owner note

A one-page file for owners, small enough to read on a phone and forward.

Result: A file the HR manager can send in one tap.

  4. Handover rules

A rule for when a chat moves from an automated reply to a person, and who picks it up.

Result: Every open chat has a named owner.

  5. A platform-rule check

A dated note of the current rules for business messaging, reviewed before campaigns start.

Result: The note is kept with each campaign plan.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

The messages an HRTech startup sends to owners and HR managers.

Opt-in note with the purpose
State what the buyer agreed to receive, and store the date. A message that has no record of consent risks the number being blocked.
Owner's one-pager
A short phone-ready note with a few screens and the cost range. Meant to be forwarded, so it reads well without a call.
Demo reminder with the join link
Sent to the HR manager with a request to forward to the owner. It brings the second decision maker to the call.
Trial nudge with the import template
A message to a trial user who has not added staff, with the template attached. It removes the step where trials stall.
Support reply that opens an upgrade talk
After a support answer, ask whether the team has outgrown the free limit. The question comes when the user's need is clear.

Who it is for

This is written for these HRTech startups.

  • Payroll and statutory compliance startups for small and mid-sized companies
  • Attendance, shift and field-workforce tracking startups
  • Applicant tracking and hiring-platform startups
  • Blue-collar and gig-worker hiring platform startups
  • Employee engagement, recognition and survey startups
  • Employee benefits, wellness and reimbursement startups
  • Learning and skills platform startups for companies
  • Background verification and onboarding startups

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You hold a bought list of HR heads with no consent, so messages would be reported and the number could be blocked.
  • The founder's own phone is the only number in use, so conversations would be lost when the founder is busy or travelling.
  • You have no shared inbox or record of chats, so a buyer's earlier reply would be unknown to the next person who writes.

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

Read the chats you already have

We read how customers write to you, which questions repeat and where a chat goes quiet. The repeated questions decide what gets automated first.

  2. 2

Sort the list and the permission

Contacts who asked to hear from you are separated from numbers that only sit in a phone book. We agree the wording new contacts will see before they say yes.

  3. 3

Choose the app or the API

One phone and a small team can stay on the ordinary app. Several people on one number, templates or a CRM link need the API through a provider, which is its own piece of setup work.

  4. 4

Write the replies and the plan

The greeting, away message, saved replies and handover rule are written in your words and approved by you. The message plan and its templates follow.

  5. 5

    Connect the record and test

Each link carries its source line and each chat lands in the CRM. We test on real phones, including a customer who asks for a person.

  6. 6

    Read the unanswered questions

A question the first reply could not answer becomes a new saved reply or a fixed handover. Stop requests are watched too, with the number's quality rating where the API is used, since both show a message plan that has gone too far.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Do we need the business API?
It depends on your volume and the tools you use. A small team can begin with the business app. Check the provider's current terms and pricing, because both change.
Can we message HR heads we found online?
Not without their agreement. Reach them first through a channel where contact is expected, then ask permission to continue on WhatsApp. Respect any request to stop.
How do we keep chats from getting lost?
Log each serious chat against the company in your CRM and name an owner. A chat with no owner is the usual reason a good lead goes cold.
Can an owner's WhatsApp reply count as approval to proceed?
Treat it as interest, not a contract. Confirm price, scope and data terms in a written proposal or email afterwards. A chat message leaves unclear what was agreed, and an owner may forward it to finance, who will ask for a formal document.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
