Metal ore mining companies · Lead generation

Find the plants that take your grade before the stack on the yard goes unsold.

Lead generation for a metal ore mine is the work of finding steel, pellet, ferroalloy and smelter plants whose process suits your ore, and reaching their raw-material team with a first useful note. GullySales works on the plant list, the grade sheet that opens each conversation and the record that shows which plants replied.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What lead generation means

Lead generation is the combined work of every channel that brings in a new enquiry, whether from search, adverts, referrals or a stall at an exhibition. GullySales runs these channels together and reports the number of enquiries each one produced, not the activity behind it.

For metal ore mining companies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The buyer list is a handful of names”

A mine that sells to the same few plants has a lead problem it cannot see until one of them changes its sourcing. Ore moves by grade and freight, so the real list is every plant whose furnace or kiln suits the assay and whose freight cost still works. Few mines have ever drawn that map.

  • “A lead is a plant, not a phone number”

An agent who rings with a quantity but no plant name is not yet a lead. A raw-material head who asks for an assay and a loading point is. Sorting the two at the first call decides whether the mine office spends the afternoon on a buyer or on a margin-seeker.

  • “Grade decides who is worth approaching”

A ferrochrome unit and a steel plant read a chromite assay differently, and a pellet plant wants fines that a lump buyer will not touch. One note sent to every plant wastes the introduction. Each note should name the size, the moisture and the process it suits.

  • “The list goes quiet between lots”

When a lot sells, contact with the plants stops until the next stack is ready. Leads for ore are built before the stock exists, so the first call about a new lot goes to someone who already knows the mine and has its grade sheet.

What we do

What we deliver for metal ore mining companies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Plant and buyer map

Steel, pellet, ferroalloy and smelter plants within a workable freight range, each with the raw-material head and the process that decides which of your grades fits.

Result: You can see which plants were chosen and why each one suits your ore.

  2. Standard grade sheet

One sheet per lot with assay range, size, moisture, quantity, loading point and access, laid out the same way every time.

Result: A purchase team can compare two lots without ringing the mine office.

  3. First-note templates by plant type

Short introductions for pellet, ferroalloy, steel and smelter buyers, each naming the grade that suits that process.

Result: Every note you send names the plant's own process, not a general offer.

  4. Agent and plant sorting rule

A written rule for what an agent must tell you before receiving the grade sheet, kept at the mine office desk.

Result: Anyone answering the phone applies the same test.

  5. Lead record

A sheet that logs the plant, the contact, the lot, the quantity asked and the next step for every enquiry.

Result: The mine office can read off which plants are live and which have gone silent.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries generated
  • Cost per enquiry
  • Enquiries by source

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

What to record about a plant before you offer it ore.

Plant type and process
Blast furnace, sponge iron, pellet, ferroalloy or smelter. The process decides which grade and size the plant can use, so ask before any offer.
Grade and size the plant buys
Fe content, manganese or chromium content, lump or fines. Matching it with your assay stops you sending a sheet the plant cannot use.
Current sources and gaps
Where the plant buys now and when it runs short. A gap in supply is the opening for a sample, and the answer comes only from a conversation.
Raw-material head and lab contact
Two names with roles. The head decides, the lab confirms the sample. Record both so the note reaches the right desk.
Delivery route and loading preference
Rail siding, road or port. A plant that takes rail only is wrong for a mine with road loading, and the note should say so early.
Trader or end plant
Tag every lead as agent, trader or end user. Traders get a different reply and a different sample rule.

Who it is for

This is written for these metal ore mining companies.

  • Iron ore mines selling lumps, fines and pellet-grade ore
  • Manganese ore mines supplying ferroalloy and steel plants
  • Chromite mines supplying ferrochrome producers
  • Bauxite mines supplying alumina and aluminium plants
  • Copper, lead and zinc ore producers selling concentrate
  • Mine lessees selling through contracts or e-auctions
  • Beneficiation and washing plant operators at the mine
  • Captive mine owners with surplus ore to sell

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Your assay is not written in one standard sheet, so every plant you approach would receive a different description of the same ore.
  • Your whole output is committed through an auction or a long contract, so new plants would have nothing to buy from you yet.
  • Nobody at the mine office can take a plant call and send a sample on request, so a warm lead would cool before any ore moved.

How it works

How the lead generation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Understand your capacity

We ask how many enquiries your team can answer well, who answers after hours, and what a good enquiry looks like. Without this, the system fills a funnel nobody is watching.

  2. 2

    Audit current sources

We read your call log, WhatsApp chats, enquiry sheet and platform dashboards. The baseline is recorded: enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order.

  3. 3

    Strategise the channel mix

Search and maps are chosen for people ready to buy, ads for people who are not yet looking, and content and referrals for trust.

  4. 4

    Implement capture and follow-up

Pages, forms, tags, the lead record and the first-reply message are built and tested end to end. We submit test enquiries ourselves before any media money is spent.

  5. 5

    Measure and optimise

Enquiries are traced to source and judged by what became orders, not by volume alone. Channels that fill the sheet with poor enquiries are cut back. How often you are reported to is agreed in writing.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Do we send the price to every plant on the list?
Price and quantity talks stay with you. The first note carries the grade sheet and the loading point, and the commercial discussion starts once a plant replies with a need.
Will agents stop calling if we do this?
No, and they need not stop. The sorting rule separates an agent who names a plant from one who only wants your rate, so your time goes to the first kind.
Can lead generation work when we sell through auctions?
It gives the plants that bid a document about your mine, and it covers the part of production you are allowed to sell outside auctions. Rules differ by state, mineral and lease type, so check with your own mining adviser.
Our lease allows sale only through set channels. What can lead generation do?
It can still build the plant list and the record of who buys what, which is useful for any route. Check with your adviser what the lease and the sale rules permit before approaching a plant directly. The map is legitimate work even when sale terms are fixed.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
