Renewable energy consultants · CRM

A consultant's CRM records the referrer, the decision and the call after the report.

A CRM for a renewable energy consultant tracks each buyer from first contact through scoping, study and later engagements, along with the person who introduced them. GullySales sets up the stages, the fields and the habits in a tool your team will use, such as Zoho CRM or HubSpot.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What CRM means

A CRM is the record where every enquiry, call and quote is kept against a customer, replacing separate notebooks, spreadsheets and memory. GullySales sets up or cleans an existing CRM and reports from it by enquiry outcome rather than by activity logged.

For renewable energy consultants

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The referrer is a record as important as the client”

When an auditor or an association secretary sends you work, that relationship decides whether more arrives. If it lives only in a partner's memory, it is lost on a handover. A field for the introducer on every lead keeps it.

  • “Long decisions need stages that match the sale”

A buyer may take a long time to commission a study. Stages such as enquiry, scoping call, study agreed, report delivered and follow-on discussed show where each buyer is and who has gone quiet.

  • “Notes by partner lose the picture”

A call noted in one partner's phone leaves a colleague unaware that a finance head asked for a route comparison. A single place for notes lets any partner pick up the conversation without repeating the questions.

  • “The report is not the end of the record”

A client whose study is delivered still has a tender, a procurement choice or an inspection ahead. The record should show a date for the post-report call, not close the file.

What we do

What we deliver for renewable energy consultants.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Stages that match the consulting sale

Enquiry, scoping call, study agreed, report delivered, follow-on discussed, closed.

Result: Every buyer sits at a stage you can name.

  2. Fields for what matters

Buyer type, state, route under consideration, introducer, decision date and source of lead.

Result: Searching the record answers questions you now guess at.

  3. Introducer tracking

A field and a view showing which referrers sent which clients and what happened.

Result: You can thank, and ask again, the right people.

  4. Import of past clients

Your existing client and enquiry lists cleaned and loaded, with duplicates merged.

Result: Old clients are visible when a new need appears.

  5. A post-report task

A task created on delivery to ask the client what they decided and whether tender or inspection help is wanted.

Result: No report passes without a planned follow-up.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries logged in the CRM
  • Data completeness
  • Reports generated from CRM data

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Fields worth keeping

The record follows a power buyer from first bill to report and beyond.

Company, plant and state
Filled by the partner at the first call. State decides which rules apply to the conversation.
Sanctioned load and tariff
Entered from the bill. It tells you whether an open access discussion is realistic.
Referrer
The lawyer, banker or past client who sent the buyer. It shows which relationships produce serious enquiries.
Decision-maker and approver
Entered after the first meeting. The report is addressed to the signatory, not the caller.
Study status and report date
Updated by the project lead. It stops two partners contacting the same buyer.
Next review date
Set when the report is delivered, so a follow-up call is planned rather than remembered.

Who it is for

This is written for these renewable energy consultants.

  • Solar and hybrid feasibility consultants for factories and commercial buildings
  • Open access and group captive advisory firms
  • Wind and solar project development advisers for landowners and investors
  • Renewable tender and bid advisers for developers
  • Energy transition and net-zero advisers for corporates
  • Renewable project lenders' engineers and technical advisers
  • Policy and regulatory advisory consultants for state-level rules
  • Independent engineers who inspect and report on installed plants

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Partners keep their client notes in their own files and will not share them.
  • You have so few clients that a shared sheet is enough, and a system would take more time than it saves.
  • You plan to store client bills and plant data in a tool without access controls.

How it works

How the CRM work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Map the sales process

We sit with the people who sell and write down how a deal moves from enquiry to payment, including where it stalls.

  2. 2

    Agree stages, fields and owners

Each stage gets a name your team already uses and a proof that the deal has left it. We agree which fields are required at which stage, and who may change what.

  3. 3

    Build on a copy

Pipeline, fields and views are built on a trial copy where the CRM offers one, or in a separate pipeline where the plan allows. Live work stays untouched.

  4. 4

Connect channels, then switch on automations

Channels are connected first. Each automation is then switched on separately, so a misfiring rule is easy to find.

  5. 5

    Test with real deals

The people who will use the CRM run open deals through it. Gaps are fixed before the whole team switches over.

  6. 6

    Switch over and trim

Once real use shows which fields stay empty and which stages nobody uses, those are cut and the handover record is updated.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales management. A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3 · you are here

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Which CRM should we use?
The one your team will open daily. Zoho CRM and HubSpot are both common in India. For a small firm, a simple setup with clean fields beats a large system nobody updates.
Who keeps the data clean?
Name one person. Partners add notes after each call, and the owner checks for missing fields and duplicates. Without an owner, any CRM decays into another folder of contacts.
Can the CRM hold client electricity bills and plant data?
Only with access limited to those on the engagement. A bill reveals a company's load and cost, which is commercial information, so restrict who can open it and keep it out of general mail threads.
What should we record about a lost enquiry?
Record the reason the buyer gave, who they chose and the date. A buyer who chose an installer today may return for an independent review later, and the reason tells you what to say then.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
