Restaurant franchise brands · WhatsApp marketing

Use WhatsApp where franchise candidates and regular diners already talk to you.

WhatsApp marketing for a restaurant franchise covers the number candidates message, the business account behind it and the messages sent to diners from each outlet. GullySales works on the setup, the reply routes and the consent that keeps the messages welcome.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For restaurant franchise brands

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The candidate expects a reply on the app they used”

A prospect who messages on WhatsApp at night wants to be answered there, not asked to fill a form. A business account with a clear greeting, a catalogue of formats and a named person behind it turns the first message into a conversation.

  • “Franchisee phones become the brand's number”

Outlets collect diner numbers on personal phones, and a broadcast sent from there carries the owner's name and any mistakes. The brand needs a clear split between the head office number and each outlet's own account.

  • “A diner list is only useful if the diner agreed to be on it”

Messages to people who never asked for them draw complaints and blocks. Consent should be collected at the counter or on the order, with a plain note on what will be sent and how to stop it.

  • “A broadcast can promise what the outlet cannot serve”

A festival offer sent to every number reaches people in cities with no outlet and diners at outlets that opted out. Lists should be split by outlet so each message matches what that kitchen will honour.

What we do

What we deliver for restaurant franchise brands.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A WhatsApp Business setup for head office

A verified business account with a greeting, a catalogue of formats and saved replies for the common candidate questions.

Result: Candidates receive a clear first answer.

  2. A separate route for outlet diners

Each outlet's account or number, set under a brand standard for name, photo and opening message.

Result: Diners know which outlet they are talking to.

  3. A consent note at the counter

Wording for the till and the order screen that asks the diner to opt in and says how to opt out.

Result: Your lists hold people who asked to be there.

  4. Message templates for approval

A short set of messages for offers, new menu items and closures, approved by head office before outlets use them.

Result: Outlets send consistent, accurate messages.

  5. Lists split by outlet

Diner lists kept per outlet so a message reaches only people that kitchen serves.

Result: A festival offer goes only to people near a participating outlet.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

What a franchise brand sends and records on WhatsApp with candidates and diners.

Candidate's first message
Save the format, city and funds range against the record. Reply with the questions on space and who will run the outlet.
Format brochure as a file
Send the brochure after the first questions are answered, not before. A candidate who gets it cold compares fees without understanding the model.
Outlet visit details
Send the address, host and map pin ahead of the visit. It records what was promised.
Diner order confirmation
For pickup orders, confirm the item and time in one message. It keeps the outlet's own number out of private chats.
Opt-in for offers
Ask a diner before adding them to a list, and give a way to stop. Offers sent to those who only ordered once are muted.

Who it is for

This is written for these restaurant franchise brands.

  • Quick service and fast food brands selling kiosks and small outlets
  • Cafe and bakery chains selling shop-format franchises
  • Regional meal brands such as biryani, dosa and thali chains
  • Cloud kitchen brands franchising delivery-only units
  • Tea, juice and dessert counters selling low-footprint formats
  • Fine dining and casual dining brands selling full-service restaurants
  • Food court and mall outlet brands
  • Brands selling master or area rights to a regional operator

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Franchisees use their personal phones for diners and head office has no view of the chats.
  • You plan to message everyone who ever ordered, though they gave their number for delivery only.
  • Nobody checks the chat in the evening, when candidates and diners write.

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

Read the chats you already have

We read how customers write to you, which questions repeat and where a chat goes quiet. The repeated questions decide what gets automated first.

  2. 2

Sort the list and the permission

Contacts who asked to hear from you are separated from numbers that only sit in a phone book. We agree the wording new contacts will see before they say yes.

  3. 3

Choose the app or the API

One phone and a small team can stay on the ordinary app. Several people on one number, templates or a CRM link need the API through a provider, which is its own piece of setup work.

  4. 4

Write the replies and the plan

The greeting, away message, saved replies and handover rule are written in your words and approved by you. The message plan and its templates follow.

  5. 5

    Connect the record and test

Each link carries its source line and each chat lands in the CRM. We test on real phones, including a customer who asks for a person.

  6. 6

    Read the unanswered questions

A question the first reply could not answer becomes a new saved reply or a fixed handover. Stop requests are watched too, with the number's quality rating where the API is used, since both show a message plan that has gone too far.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can we send promotional messages to everyone who ordered from us?
Only to people who agreed to receive them. Check the platform's current rules on business messaging and keep a record of consent. We help you word the opt-in and set up lists accordingly.
Should franchisees use their personal WhatsApp for customers?
Avoid it. Personal numbers leave with the owner and mix private chats with the brand's. A business account per outlet, under the brand's standard, keeps the history with the outlet.
Can we send promotions to everyone who ordered?
Only to those who agreed to receive them. A number given for an order is for that order, and messages beyond it are reported. Ask at the time of ordering and keep the record of who said yes.
Should franchisees use personal WhatsApp?
No. Use a business account for the outlet so chats stay if the owner or staff change. Personal numbers mix family and customers, and head office loses sight of what diners were told.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
