Retail franchise brands · WhatsApp marketing

Use WhatsApp for candidate questions and for telling shoppers what is in store.

WhatsApp marketing for a retail franchise brand covers candidate conversations about shops and terms, and shopper messages about offers and arrivals. GullySales works on the message sets, the opt-in and the split between brand and store numbers.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For retail franchise brands

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Candidates ask on WhatsApp first”

A trader sends a photo of the shop and asks if it will do. If the number belongs to one field manager's personal phone, the reply depends on that person's day and the conversation leaves with them.

  • “Store numbers and brand numbers get mixed”

A shopper messages the store's number for a size and gets no answer, because the franchisee checks it rarely. Deciding which number does what avoids unanswered messages.

  • “Shoppers must agree to hear from the store”

A list collected at the billing counter without a clear request to send offers is a weak base. Ask at the counter, write down the agreement, and honour a request to stop.

  • “Festival broadcasts need a rhythm that respects the shopper”

A shopper who receives an offer every day mutes the store. A few well-timed messages around occasions, with one clear offer, are read.

What we do

What we deliver for retail franchise brands.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Number and ownership plan

A decision on which numbers handle franchise enquiries, which handle shoppers and who holds each.

Result: A written plan naming number, owner and purpose.

  2. Candidate reply set

Prepared answers to shop size, stock and support questions, with a handoff to a person.

Result: Replies a team can send with the same facts.

  3. Opt-in capture at the counter

A short script and a form for staff to ask a shopper's agreement to receive offers.

Result: A list that records who agreed and when.

  4. Offer and arrival templates

Message formats for sales, new ranges and festival gifts, with the store name and address.

Result: Templates a franchisee can use within your limits.

  5. Opt-out and rules sheet

How to stop messaging a shopper who asks, and what to check in the platform's current rules.

Result: A one-page sheet for store staff.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

What a brand sends and records on WhatsApp with traders and shoppers.

Trader's first message
Save the town, shop size and trade against the record. Reply with a request for photographs of the shop and frontage.
Format guide as a file
Send the format document after the first questions are answered. A trader who gets it cold compares fees before understanding the store.
Site-visit details
Send the manager's name, date and what to keep ready. It records what was promised.
Store-level shopper updates
A shopper who opted in gets a note on new stock at their nearest store. It must come from that store's account.
Stop option on every broadcast
Tell the shopper how to leave the list and honour it. It keeps the number from being reported.

Who it is for

This is written for these retail franchise brands.

  • Apparel and fashion brands selling stores in towns and cities
  • Footwear and accessories franchise brands
  • Mobile, electronics and appliance franchise stores
  • Kids' products and toy store franchises
  • Gifts, stationery and lifestyle store chains
  • Optical and eyewear franchise stores
  • Home furnishing and decor franchise stores
  • Brands selling shop-in-shop and kiosk formats

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Franchisees use personal phones for shoppers and head office has no view of the chats.
  • You plan to message shoppers using numbers taken from bills without their agreement.
  • Nobody answers messages in the evening, when traders and shoppers write.

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

Read the chats you already have

We read how customers write to you, which questions repeat and where a chat goes quiet. The repeated questions decide what gets automated first.

  2. 2

Sort the list and the permission

Contacts who asked to hear from you are separated from numbers that only sit in a phone book. We agree the wording new contacts will see before they say yes.

  3. 3

Choose the app or the API

One phone and a small team can stay on the ordinary app. Several people on one number, templates or a CRM link need the API through a provider, which is its own piece of setup work.

  4. 4

Write the replies and the plan

The greeting, away message, saved replies and handover rule are written in your words and approved by you. The message plan and its templates follow.

  5. 5

    Connect the record and test

Each link carries its source line and each chat lands in the CRM. We test on real phones, including a customer who asks for a person.

  6. 6

    Read the unanswered questions

A question the first reply could not answer becomes a new saved reply or a fixed handover. Stop requests are watched too, with the number's quality rating where the API is used, since both show a message plan that has gone too far.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can franchisees broadcast their own offers?
Within limits you set. Give them approved templates so the brand voice and offer rules hold across stores.
Do we need the business API?
Not always. A small team can begin with the business app; larger volumes and several agents call for the API. Check the platform's current rules and costs.
Is it fine to message a purchaser from billing data?
Only if they agreed to receive such messages. Data protection rules apply, so check your approach with your own adviser.
Can head office message shoppers of a franchise store?
Only if the shopper agreed to hear from the brand and not just the store. Shopper numbers collected by a franchisee belong to that relationship, so agree in the franchise terms who may message and for what purpose.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
