Tax consulting firms · Local SEO

A trader whose registration got suspended is looking for someone nearby.

Local search for a tax firm is the map listing a trader opens when a notice arrives and they want somebody they can carry a file to. GullySales sets the category and the firm name properly, fixes the directions to a third-floor office, and keeps the filing-season hours honest.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What local SEO means

Local SEO is the work of making your business show up for searches that name your town or locality, such as a service plus an area name. GullySales sets up locality pages, local citations and map listings so nearby customers find you before a competitor across town.

Last updated 17 Oct 2026. Rules for this trade differ by state and professional body, and they change. We describe restrictions in general terms, so check the current position with your own council or adviser before you publish anything.

For tax consulting firms

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The category you pick changes who calls”

Filed as an accountant you get bookkeeping calls, filed around GST work you get traders with notices, and those are two different practices.

  • “Your office is above a shop and nobody can find it”

Third floor, no board on the road, and the pin sitting out on the junction. Directions decide whether the file arrives.

  • “In July your hours are not your usual hours”

A listing saying closed on Saturday, while the whole firm is sitting in on the last weekend, sends callers somewhere else.

What we do

What we deliver for tax consulting firms.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Category and firm name set as registered

The primary category chosen for the work you want, and the name exactly as the firm is registered, with no descriptive words added.

Result: The listing survives a check and brings the right calls.

  2. Directions written for a third-floor office

The pin moved to the building entrance, with a landmark, the floor and the cross street written into the description.

Result: A client carrying a file finds the door.

  3. Hours that match the filing season

Normal hours set, with the extended days and the Saturdays you actually sit through in July and September updated in advance.

Result: Nobody arrives at a locked office.

  4. Services listed the way clients describe them

Notice reply, GST registration, return filing and audit support entered as services in the words an owner would use on the phone.

Result: A caller knows you take their problem before ringing.

  5. Area pages for the localities your clients come from

Pages for the markets, estates and neighbourhoods your clients travel in from, naming the trades that cluster in each.

Result: You show up for the search made two streets away.

  6. Calls and direction requests reported

Calls, direction requests and website taps from the listing, read against what it produced before it was claimed.

Result: You learn how many callers came off the map.

How the result is measured

  • Map pack ranking
  • Local search visibility
  • Enquiries by locality

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What Google weighs here

How a trader or a salaried person with a tax problem finds a consultant nearby, and what to fix first.

Primary category
Choose Tax consultant, GST consultant, Chartered accountant or Accountant to match what the firm is. Use the name as registered. A wrong category brings enquiries for work you do not do, such as bookkeeping.
Services as situations
List GST registration, GST notice reply, income tax return filing, TDS return, company registration and NRI tax as services. Clients search by their situation, so write each service the way they would say it.
Hours around filing dates
Set special hours for the period around return and GST due dates, and for the days you are shut. A client with a notice or a deadline looks at the opening time first.
Professional body rules
Advertising by professionals is governed by the rules of your own body, such as the institute you belong to, and they change. Check them before you add claims, testimonials or comparisons to the profile.
Replies without client details
Reply to a review without confirming the person is a client or mentioning their return, notice or amount. Thank them, and invite them to call the office. Confidentiality applies in public replies too.

Who it is for

This is written for these tax consulting firms.

  • Individual and small business tax consultants
  • GST compliance and advisory firms
  • Corporate tax advisory firms
  • Chartered accountancy firms offering tax services
  • NRI taxation specialists
  • Startup and new business tax advisory firms
  • Tax litigation and notice response specialists
  • Payroll and TDS compliance firms

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • The firm works entirely by referral from other cities and has no wish to be found by walk-in or nearby clients.
  • Your office is a shared address that clients never visit, and a map listing would send people to a door you do not staff.
  • The partners have not checked how their body treats listings and review requests, and a listing could start a breach.

How it works

How the local SEO work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Write down what is true

Each branch's real address, signboard name, phone, hours and owning Google account go into one record you sign off. Every later listing is copied from it.

  2. 2

    Search as your buyer does

We search each branch on a phone from points around it, in your buyers' words, and note who appears with what reviews and photos.

  3. 3

    Fix the profile first

Ownership first, then name, address, pin, phone, hours and business type. Google can suspend a profile with extra words in its name or an address that is not a real premises.

  4. 4

Build the branch pages and match the listings

Each real branch gets its own page, and the other listings are changed to agree with it. We write none for towns without a branch, because Google treats near-identical pages as doorway pages.

  5. 5

    Ask, reply and measure

We agree with each branch who asks for reviews, when and how. Results are set against the baseline recorded before work began, and the branch that is behind gets the next round.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Can a professional firm keep a Google listing at all?
A listing showing your name, address, hours and contact is a directory entry, but the wording you put in it falls under the same rules as anything else you publish. Your partner reads the description first, and the institute's guidance is where to settle it.
Four firms share our building. Does that hurt the listing?
Not if the address is complete down to the floor and the unit. Suspensions come from listings at addresses a firm does not occupy, not from neighbours. Keep the floor number and the board on the door saying the same thing.
Our partners each want their own listing. Is that allowed?
One listing per business location is the rule of thumb. A partner who sees clients separately under their own name and hours may qualify, but duplicate listings for one practice can be removed. Check the platform's current rules, and keep names and phones consistent.
A review says we saved the client a large amount. Can we keep it?
You cannot usually remove a genuine review. Reply neutrally, without confirming the amount or the matter. Do not promote it elsewhere as a result. Rules on results claims by tax professionals differ, so check your own body's before you reuse any review.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
