Cloud consulting companies · CRM

Record each platform contact, sponsor and assessment so no follow-on is forgotten.

A CRM for a cloud consulting company is the shared record of buyers, sponsors, platform contacts and assessments, and what each is waiting for. GullySales works on the fields, the stages and the habits that make the record useful to partners and architects alike.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What CRM means

A CRM is the record where every enquiry, call and quote is kept against a customer, replacing separate notebooks, spreadsheets and memory. GullySales sets up or cleans an existing CRM and reports from it by enquiry outcome rather than by activity logged.

For cloud consulting companies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Relationships are the asset”

Your next project may come from a CTO you advised two years ago or a platform manager who moved teams. Without a record of who knows whom and what was said, that knowledge leaves with the person.

  • “A deal has several people”

An assessment has a sponsor, a technical owner, a budget holder and sometimes a security reviewer. A record holding only one name per company hides the person who can stop the work.

  • “Assessments need their own stages”

A cloud sale does not move like a product sale. Scoping, access, review, findings and the closing session are real steps, and a record built for generic stages cannot show where an assessment stalled.

  • “Architects will not fill long forms”

The people who learn the most on a call are engineers, and they avoid heavy data entry. The record must ask for little, at the right moment, or the notes stay in private notebooks.

What we do

What we deliver for cloud consulting companies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Stages for the assessment journey

A set of stages from first enquiry through scoping, review, findings and follow-on proposal, with a rule for moving a deal forward.

Result: Anyone can see where each assessment stands.

  2. Fields for the people in a deal

Fields for sponsor, technical owner, budget holder and platform contact, with a note on what each cares about.

Result: No deal sits with only one name.

  3. Platform contact record

A section for account managers and partner development contacts, with what each knows about your strengths and the last conversation.

Result: A record of which platform relationships are active.

  4. Light entry routine for architects

A short routine of a few fields after each call, designed to take little effort, with the rest filled by the business team.

Result: Notes reach the record without a long form.

  5. Tool selection and set-up

Help choosing and configuring a CRM such as HubSpot or Zoho CRM, with only the fields you will use.

Result: A working record and a short guide for your team.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries logged in the CRM
  • Data completeness
  • Reports generated from CRM data

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Fields worth keeping

What a cloud consultancy should record on each deal and contact.

Platform and partner programme
The sales lead sets it at the first call. It shows which badge, credit or co-sell route applies and who in the platform team to bring in.
Trigger and deadline
The person who took the enquiry writes it. It lets you rank deals by a real date, such as a renewal or a contract end, and not by how large the firm is.
Sponsor, technical lead and signatory
Filled by the sales lead after the scoping call. A deal with no named signatory is the one that stalls after the report.
Assessment stage
Updated by the lead architect: scoped, access given, findings drafted, presented, next phase proposed. It makes the gap after the report visible.
Referring platform contact
Recorded by the sales lead when the work came through a platform manager. It shows who to thank and whom to update on the outcome.
Follow-on work proposed and its outcome
Filled in by the architect at the closing session. It links an assessment to the project that followed, or to the reason there was none.

Who it is for

This is written for these cloud consulting companies.

  • AWS partners and consultants
  • Microsoft Azure partners and migration specialists
  • Google Cloud partners and data platform advisers
  • Cloud cost optimisation and review specialists
  • Cloud security and architecture review firms
  • Data centre exit and migration advisers
  • Multi-cloud and hybrid strategy consultants
  • Landing zone and cloud governance advisers for larger firms

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You win a few engagements a year through personal ties and already remember each one, so a record would hold nothing new.
  • Your architects refuse to log anything, and a system the sales lead alone updates will be out of date at once.

How it works

How the CRM work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Map the sales process

We sit with the people who sell and write down how a deal moves from enquiry to payment, including where it stalls.

  2. 2

    Agree stages, fields and owners

Each stage gets a name your team already uses and a proof that the deal has left it. We agree which fields are required at which stage, and who may change what.

  3. 3

    Build on a copy

Pipeline, fields and views are built on a trial copy where the CRM offers one, or in a separate pipeline where the plan allows. Live work stays untouched.

  4. 4

Connect channels, then switch on automations

Channels are connected first. Each automation is then switched on separately, so a misfiring rule is easy to find.

  5. 5

    Test with real deals

The people who will use the CRM run open deals through it. Gaps are fixed before the whole team switches over.

  6. 6

    Switch over and trim

Once real use shows which fields stay empty and which stages nobody uses, those are cut and the handover record is updated.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales management. A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3 · you are here

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Which CRM should a cloud consulting firm use?
One your team will actually update. HubSpot and Zoho CRM are both in ordinary use in India, and either works if the stages and fields suit your assessments. We recommend after seeing how you sell.
Can the CRM show projects won from assessments?
Yes, if each assessment is recorded as a deal with a link to any follow-on project. That connection must be entered by someone, so we make it a step at the closing session.
Should the CRM hold client architecture details?
No. Keep contacts, stages and commercial notes there, and keep technical material in the secured space your contract allows. A CRM with wide access is a poor place for account details, and a breach would be your own.
How do we get architects to update records?
Keep the entry to a few fields tied to the stage, and let the architect speak it in a short handover that someone else types. Architects update what they must; the fewer the fields, the more get filled.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
