Barbershops · Search engine optimisation

Appear when a man types haircut or beard trim near me, and not only when the shop name is already known.

SEO for a barbershop is the work of making the shop appear when a man searches for a cut, a shave or a beard shape in the area. GullySales works on the pages, the wording and the local signals that connect those searches to your shop.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What search engine optimisation means

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the work of getting your website to appear when a buyer searches Google for what you sell. GullySales builds pages around real search terms, fixes technical issues that block ranking, and tracks which searches actually bring enquiries.

For barbershops

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The search is for a result, not for a shop”

A young man types fade haircut or beard shaping and looks for a finish to copy. The shop with a page naming that finish and a clear photograph is the one that gets opened. A signboard-only presence never appears for that search.

  • “The same words mean different things in different lanes”

What a student calls a crop, an office worker calls a clean cut and an older customer calls a regular trim. Pages and listings that use the words each group actually types match more searches than one generic line.

  • “A website with only an address wastes the search”

If the site lists the shop name and a phone number and nothing else, there is nothing to match against a query. Services, styles, the price list and the area served give search something to read.

  • “Search and Maps are read together”

A man who searches for a barber sees a map result first and a web page second. A shop strong on one and thin on the other loses half the attention it could hold, so the two are worked as one job.

What we do

What we deliver for barbershops.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A list of the searches your customers use

The actual phrases for cuts, shaves, beard styles and head massage, grouped by who types them, gathered from the shop's own customers.

Result: The shop writes for real searches, not guesses.

  2. One page per main service

A page each for haircut, shave, beard styling and head massage, with the price range, what is included and photographs from the shop.

Result: A search for one service lands on a page about it.

  3. A style gallery with plain captions

Clear photographs of fades, crops and beard shapes, each captioned with the name a customer would search.

Result: A man looking for a finish can see it and name it.

  4. Titles and descriptions written for the shop

The line that appears in the search result, written to name the service, the area and the shop.

Result: Your result says what you do and where.

  5. A baseline of positions before the work

A record of where the shop appears now for chosen searches, kept so later changes are read against it.

Result: You can tell whether appearance in search has moved.

How the result is measured

  • Ranking positions
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from organic search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Who it is for

This is written for these barbershops.

  • Traditional neighbourhood barbershops
  • Single-chair shops run by the owner
  • Modern barbershops with fades and beard styling
  • Barbershops near colleges and hostels
  • Barbershops near bus stands, railway stations and markets
  • Shops inside residential societies
  • Barbershops that also sell grooming products
  • Mobile barbers who visit homes and offices

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the search engine optimisation work runs

  1. 1

    Audit and baseline

We record where the site stands today: positions, traffic, technical faults and the enquiries search currently produces. Nothing starts until this number is written down.

  2. 2

    Decide what to rank for

We map the searches your buyers use, in your words and theirs, and pick the ones worth the effort for your margin and your capacity.

  3. 3

    Fix the foundations

Technical faults first, because the cheapest gains are usually there. Then the Business Profile and directory consistency.

  4. 4

    Build the pages

A page for each thing you do, written to answer the question it is searched for, with a clear next step at the end.

  5. 5

    Publish and earn mentions

Content goes out on the calendar. Links and mentions are earned from real relationships, not bought.

  6. 6

    Measure, report, adjust

At the interval agreed at the start we report what moved and what did not, and change the plan when the numbers say so.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Can a small barbershop really rank on Google?
For searches tied to your area, yes. A local shop competes against other local shops, not against national brands. GullySales makes no promise on position, because that depends on the competition near you and on the platform.
Do we need a website, or is Maps enough?
Maps comes first. A simple website adds the service pages and styles that Maps cannot hold, and it gives search more to read. A shop with a good listing can start there and add the site next.
Should we write blogs about haircuts?
Only if each one answers a question a customer actually asks, such as how often to trim a beard. Writing for its own sake adds pages nobody finds. A few useful pages beat a long list of empty ones.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
