Salons and beauty studios · Local SEO
Show up for the three streets your customers actually walk from.
Local SEO decides whether your salon appears on Maps when somebody nearby searches for a haircut or a facial this afternoon. GullySales sets the categories and services on the Business Profile, gets the price list and photographs onto it, and turns on booking and messaging.
Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What local SEO means
Local SEO is the work of making your business show up for searches that name your town or locality, such as a service plus an area name. GullySales sets up locality pages, local citations and map listings so nearby customers find you before a competitor across town.

Sales and marketing for salons and beauty studios, the overview.

For salons and beauty studios
Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.
“A salon's catchment is walking distance”
Nobody drives across the city for a threading appointment, so the pin and the locality words carry the whole listing.
“Unisex, ladies and men's are different categories”
Filed wrongly, you appear for the wrong searches and turn away half the people who ring.
“The booking button sits on the listing”
Google lets somebody book from the profile itself, and most salons have never connected it to anything.
What we do
What we deliver for salons and beauty studios.
Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.
Categories set for what the salon actually does
Primary and secondary categories chosen between beauty salon, hair salon, nail salon, makeup artist and waxing service, matching what you want booked.
Result: The right enquiries reach the right chair.
Services and prices listed on the profile
Each service added with its price and its duration in the services section, rather than leaving somebody to ring and ask.
Result: The price comparison happens on your listing, not a rival's.
The booking link connected to the profile
Your booking software or a WhatsApp link attached to the Business Profile so a slot can be taken from the listing itself.
Result: A search turns into an appointment without a phone call.
Photographs of the work, the room and the team
Recent unfiltered pictures of real results, the interiors, the entrance and the stations, refreshed rather than left from the opening week.
Result: A new customer can see what they are walking into.
The same details across Google, JustDial and the apps
Name, address, phone, hours and services made to match wherever you are listed, including the beauty booking apps.
Result: The listings agree with each other and with you.
Maps reporting by search, call and booking
The count of discovery searches, calls, direction requests and bookings taken from the listing, read against the baseline.
Result: You know how much of the chair Maps is filling.
How the result is measured
- Map pack ranking
- Local search visibility
- Enquiries by locality
Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.
What Google weighs here
How a customer finds a salon within walking distance, and what to fix first.
- Primary category
- Choose Beauty salon, Hair salon, Barber shop or Makeup artist to match most of your income. Unisex salons list as Hair salon and add Beauty salon as a secondary. Do not use categories for services you do not offer.
- Services and starting prices
- List haircut, hair colour, facial, threading, waxing, bridal makeup and nail work as services, with a starting price where it stays stable. A customer can then compare you before booking.
- Booking link on the profile
- Connect the booking link or the WhatsApp Business number you answer. A customer who sees the slot and the service on the same screen books there and then, and will not drive to a salon that is full.
- Photographs with consent
- Show the room, the chairs, the products and finished work, with the customer's consent where a face is visible. Show the team too. Photographs of a filtered look differ from what customers get at the chair.
- Justdial and booking apps
- Match name, address, phone and service names across Justdial, Sulekha and any booking app. A salon that shows a different name or an old price on an app draws the arguments at the counter.
Who it is for
This is written for these salons and beauty studios.
- Neighbourhood unisex salons
- Ladies beauty parlours and threading studios
- Premium hair studios and colour specialists
- Bridal makeup artists and bridal studios
- Freelance and home-visit makeup artists
- Nail, lash and brow studios
- Men's grooming lounges and barbershops
- Franchise outlets of salon chains
- Skin care and cosmetics brands selling online and through salons
Not for
It is not the right fit if.
- You have not claimed the map listing, so there is nothing to edit.
- The salon is about to move or rename, and the listing would soon be wrong.
- You expect the listing to fill the diary without photographs or replies to reviews.
How it works
How the local SEO work runs
The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.
- 1
Write down what is true
Each branch's real address, signboard name, phone, hours and owning Google account go into one record you sign off. Every later listing is copied from it.
- 2
Search as your buyer does
We search each branch on a phone from points around it, in your buyers' words, and note who appears with what reviews and photos.
- 3
Fix the profile first
Ownership first, then name, address, pin, phone, hours and business type. Google can suspend a profile with extra words in its name or an address that is not a real premises.
- 4
Build the branch pages and match the listings
Each real branch gets its own page, and the other listings are changed to agree with it. We write none for towns without a branch, because Google treats near-identical pages as doorway pages.
- 5
Ask, reply and measure
We agree with each branch who asks for reviews, when and how. Results are set against the baseline recorded before work began, and the branch that is behind gets the next round.
Where this fits
Three pieces of sales work, in this order.
This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.
Step 1
Sales audit
Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.
Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.
Step 2 · you are here
Sales process design
One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.
Start here if every salesperson sells differently.
Step 3
Sales management
A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.
Start here if the team has targets and no routine.
