Salons and beauty studios · Digital marketing

Move some of Saturday's demand into an empty Tuesday afternoon.

Digital marketing for a salon is Instagram, Maps, WhatsApp and your booking software working to one plan across the week and the wedding season. GullySales decides what each does in which month, and reports occupancy by day against your starting figures.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What digital marketing means

Digital marketing is the combined work of search, social media, advertising and website channels running together rather than as separate projects with separate people. GullySales runs these as one connected system so a change in one channel, such as a new offer, is reflected everywhere at once.

For salons and beauty studios

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Two businesses share one floor”

The weekly haircut and the bridal booking need different plans, different photographs and effort in different months.

  • “Your quiet hour repeats every week”

Tuesday at three is empty every week, and a membership price for those hours moves customers who were coming anyway.

  • “The booking link is the whole funnel”

A customer deciding at eleven at night will not ring in the morning. If the customer cannot book there and then, the booking goes elsewhere.

What we do

What we deliver for salons and beauty studios.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A plan that runs on the week and on the season

What happens on the slow weekdays, what runs three months before the wedding dates, and what runs ahead of Diwali and Karva Chauth, written down for the year.

Result: The bridal season stops arriving unprepared for.

  2. Online booking connected to every channel

The same booking link on Instagram, the Business Profile, WhatsApp and the website, running through whichever software the salon already uses.

Result: A customer books at night without waiting for a call back.

  3. A price list published where people look

The current service menu with prices on Google, Instagram and the site, updated when prices change rather than sent out on request.

Result: A new customer stops having to ring and ask.

  4. Beauty app bookings counted against your own

What the beauty booking apps take in commission, set beside your direct bookings, so both get judged on what they leave you.

Result: You find out what an app booking is really worth.

  5. One WhatsApp number that the salon owns

A business number for bookings, reminders and bridal enquiries, held by the salon rather than sitting on a stylist's personal phone.

Result: The customer relationship stays when a stylist leaves.

  6. One report on occupancy and returns

Chair occupancy by day and hour, returning customers, bridal conversions and bookings by source, all read against the baseline.

Result: The quiet hours stop being a matter of opinion.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries across channels
  • Cost per enquiry overall
  • Channel mix by contribution

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Where to start for salons

Point every channel at one booking link, and show the work you want more of.

One booking link everywhere
Put the same booking link in the Instagram bio, the Maps profile and the WhatsApp reply, with services and prices shown. Count bookings by source in the booking software.
Photographs of real work
Photograph finished colour, cuts and bridal looks under one light with the client's permission, and label the service. Note which posts bring a booking.
The Maps profile
Add every service, the opening hours and photographs of the chairs and entrance. Record the calls and booking clicks the profile reports.
A rebooking message after each visit
Send a WhatsApp note timed to the service, such as a colour touch-up or a trim. Record how many return and on which weekday.
Bridal enquiries with a trial date
After sending the package, ask for a trial date in the same message. Track how many trials become a paid booking.
What to leave until later
Paid ads, influencer tie-ups and a second platform can wait until the booking link and the rebooking message are in use.

Who it is for

This is written for these salons and beauty studios.

  • Neighbourhood unisex salons
  • Ladies beauty parlours and threading studios
  • Premium hair studios and colour specialists
  • Bridal makeup artists and bridal studios
  • Freelance and home-visit makeup artists
  • Nail, lash and brow studios
  • Men's grooming lounges and barbershops
  • Franchise outlets of salon chains
  • Skin care and cosmetics brands selling online and through salons

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Your booking link does not work on a phone, so every channel would send the customer to a dead end.
  • You have no weekday slot to fill and would add demand to a day that is already full.
  • You plan to start three channels at once with one person to run them.

How it works

How the digital marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Agree the one aim

We settle what the campaign must achieve, such as enquiries for a launch or footfall for an event, and the date it must be live.

  2. 2

    Check what is ready

We list the channels you already run, who runs them, and what each can produce in the time available. Anything that cannot be done properly is left out.

  3. 3

Write the idea and the message sheet

We draft the one-sentence idea, test it against each planned format, and fix the wording that all channels will copy.

  4. 4

Brief every channel from the same sheet

Your agency, freelancer or in-house person receives the message sheet and calendar. Their work is checked against the sheet before it goes out.

  5. 5

    Run on the shared calendar

Channels go live together. If the offer changes, every channel is changed on the same day from the same sheet.

  6. 6

    Measure as one campaign

Enquiries and orders are read against the baseline. The reporting schedule is agreed in writing with the scope.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

We set up online booking and nobody used it. Why?
Most often because the link sits only on the website and the prices are not beside it. Put the same link on the Business Profile, Instagram and WhatsApp, with the service menu and the price next to it.
We have no time for any of this in season.
Then it gets built in the flat weeks between seasons. Reminders and a booking link run themselves once they exist, which is the whole reason to set them up in March.
Should staff post from their own Instagram pages?
Agree it before it happens. Let staff share work using the salon's tag, with the salon's booking link and WhatsApp number on every post. A stylist's own page builds their name, so the salon should hold each client's contact on its own list.
How do we know if a reel brought in a customer?
Ask at booking and at the chair how they heard of you, and add the answer to the booking record as a drop-down: Instagram, Maps, friend or walk-in. Count them at the end of the season. Views mislead, but a booking with a source does not.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Your next practical step

Tell us what you are trying to grow, and we will read it before we call.
