Finance and insurance advisers · Buyer persona

Write down who is actually deciding on the loan or the policy before you write a word.

A buyer persona for a finance or insurance adviser describes the person who asks, the person who pays and the person who worries, which are often three different people. GullySales builds one persona for each product line you want more of, using your own enquiry and file history.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What buyer persona means

A buyer persona is a plain description of the kind of customer who actually buys from you. It includes what they search, what worries them and who else they ask before deciding. GullySales builds this from real enquiries and past sales rather than a generic template, then uses it to write every page and advert.

For finance and insurance advisers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The son or daughter searches for the parents' health policy”

The person typing the enquiry is an adult child, while the person to be insured is a parent in another city. The adult child wants the waiting period and the hospital list explained plainly, and will forward your reply to a sibling before deciding.

  • “The salaried borrower compares the EMI and the processing fee first”

Someone asking about a personal loan or a two-wheeler loan sends the same two questions to several agents. They are not yet asking about you. They are asking who gives a straight figure in the first reply and who asks them to visit the office.

  • “The shop owner needs working capital and distrusts paperwork”

A small business owner asking about a business loan is busy at the counter, keeps accounts loosely and fears being refused after sharing documents. Their persona is built around what papers they have, not around what a form asks for.

  • “The renewal customer is a different person from the new enquiry”

A policyholder due for a motor renewal wants a quick reminder and a fair quote. Treating them as a fresh prospect, with a long pitch, tells them nobody has kept their record.

What we do

What we deliver for finance and insurance advisers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. One persona per product line

A written card for each product you want more of, such as family health cover or business loans, drawn from your existing files and enquiry messages.

Result: You can read a card and say which of your recent customers it describes.

  2. Asker, payer and worrier mapped

A note for each persona showing who makes the enquiry, who pays and who fears the outcome, so replies address the right person.

Result: Your first reply speaks to the person who will actually decide.

  3. The questions each persona asks first

A short list of the opening questions in the customer's own words, taken from WhatsApp messages and calls you have already had.

Result: Your product pages and replies answer the first question, not the fifth.

  4. What each persona compares you with

A record of the other agents, banks, online platforms and relatives' advice that the buyer weighs you against.

Result: You know what you are being measured against before the quote goes out.

  5. A check against lost enquiries

A review of enquiries that went quiet, to see which persona they matched and where the conversation stopped.

Result: The cards are corrected by the enquiries that did not become files.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiry match to persona
  • Conversion rate by persona
  • Content aligned to persona

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the buyer persona work runs

  1. 1

    Understand the current view

We start with how your team currently describes the customer, since the gap between belief and reality is often the finding itself.

  2. 2

    Audit past enquiries and sales

We look at recent enquiries and closed deals to see who actually bought, not who was assumed to buy.

  3. 3

    Interview customers and staff

Short, structured conversations surface the real language, worries and triggers behind a purchase.

  4. 4

    Build the personas

Findings are written into short, usable persona documents rather than a long report.

  5. 5

    Apply to your marketing

We show exactly where each persona should change a page, an ad or a script you already have.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How many personas does an adviser need?
Start with one for each product line you want to grow. An adviser selling health cover and business loans needs two cards, not one blended card, because the buyers, worries and questions differ.
Where does the information come from?
From your own records: enquiry messages, call notes, the proposals that were signed and the ones that were not. GullySales reads those with you and writes down what repeats. Nothing is invented about customers you have not spoken to.
Can we use customer stories in the persona?
Use them inside the business to understand patterns, with names removed. Whether and how you may use any customer story in advertising depends on the rules for your line of business, so check with your own adviser or compliance contact.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
