Painting contractors · Email marketing

Write to the societies, builders and old customers who repaint.

Email marketing for a painting contractor is the written channel for buyers who keep records: builders, apartment association secretaries, facility managers and your own past customers coming round for a repaint. GullySales builds that list out of your job book and writes the notes that bring the work back.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What email marketing means

Email marketing is sending planned messages to a list of past and prospective customers who have agreed to hear from you. It suits offers, updates and staying in touch with someone who is not ready to buy yet. GullySales writes and schedules these emails and tracks who opens, clicks and enquires.

For painting contractors

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The list worth having is not homeowners”

A homeowner gives a phone number and replies on WhatsApp. A society secretary or a site engineer works from email, because the committee wants your quote on record before it approves anything.

  • “The flat you painted four years ago is due again”

Interiors come round on a cycle and exteriors sooner, yet hardly anybody writes to the customer from four years ago. Your job book is a better list than anything you could buy.

  • “The note sent before the rain is the one they read”

Asking past exterior customers whether the terrace and the parapet held up turns into waterproofing work, because the damp patch is already on their wall when they open it.

What we do

What we deliver for painting contractors.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A list built out of the job book

Every past job entered with the year painted, the area, the surfaces done and who signed, so the list is customers rather than bought addresses.

Result: You write to people who have already paid you once.

  2. A repaint note timed to the year the job is due

A short mail naming the rooms you painted, the product used and what a repaint of the same area involves at today's rates.

Result: Old customers come back before they search for anyone else.

  3. A note for exterior and waterproofing customers before the rain

Written ahead of the season, asking about the terrace, the parapet and the north wall, with an offer to come and look.

Result: Exterior work gets booked before the leak, not after it.

  4. A builder and society quote follow-up

A written follow-up to the site engineer or the secretary repeating the rate per square foot, the number of coats and the brand quoted.

Result: Yours is the quote the committee has in writing.

  5. A maintenance offer for offices and showrooms

A written proposal for touch-up and repaint work on offices, showrooms and clubhouses, sent to the facility managers who run them.

Result: Work arrives that is not tied to the festival rush.

How the result is measured

  • Open rate
  • Click rate
  • Enquiries from email

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What must be in place first

What a painting contractor needs in place before emailing builders and past customers.

A job book turned into a contact list
List every finished job with the name, the address, the type of work and the year. A flat painted several years ago is a repaint waiting to be asked.
Consent from the quotation
India's data protection law expects you to show who agreed to hear from you. Add a line to the quotation asking permission to send a reminder later, and record the date.
A sender with finished jobs to show
Mail from a named person at your own domain and link to photos of completed work. A builder or society secretary decides on what they can see.
Segments by buyer kind
Keep builders, apartment societies, office managers and home owners apart. A secretary choosing a painter for a block needs different information from a family.
Reminders apart from offers
A repaint reminder timed to the last job is a service note. A festival offer is promotion. Keep each on its own list with an unsubscribe on the offer.
A reply path to the person who visits
Replies go to the supervisor who can book a site visit. A reply asking for a date that waits for a day goes to another painter.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the email marketing work runs

  1. 1

    Understand your list

We review who is on the list, how they got there, and how long it has been since they last heard from you.

  2. 2

    Audit past sends

We check open and click rates from past emails to see what has and has not worked.

  3. 3

    Segment and plan

The list is split into meaningful groups and a sending calendar is agreed.

  4. 4

    Implement content and automation

Emails are written, scheduled and, where useful, set to trigger automatically based on behaviour.

  5. 5

    Measure and optimise

We track performance and adjust subject lines, timing and content based on what the list responds to.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Homeowners never give us an email. Is this worth doing?
For a one-off homeowner, WhatsApp does more. Email earns its place with societies, builders and offices, where somebody has to put your quote in front of a committee.
What do we send that is not an advertisement?
Photographs of a job in their own layout, the rate for the same area now, and a plain note on what the last rains did to unpainted parapets. Useful enough to be opened.
Should we email a home owner we met through a paint shop referral?
Only if they agreed to be contacted. A shop passing your name is not consent. Ask the shop to tell the customer first, then write one note introducing yourself with a way to opt out.
Do builders want quotes by email or on a call?
Builders and societies usually need a written quote they can file, so send it as a clear document by email and follow up by phone. State the scope of work, the number of coats and what is excluded, so the committee can compare it.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
