Hostels · Search engine optimisation

Be the hostel a parent finds when searching from another city.

SEO for a hostel is making the building appear when a parent or a new joiner searches for a place to stay near a named college, coaching centre or office park. GullySales works on the pages, the wording and the technical basics that let a search engine match your hostel to that search.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

PG and hostel operators: show a real physical business scene illustrating Bed-level occupancy and sharing rates. Set up blocks, floors, room types, rooms and beds as your building is. Each bed shows who is in it, from when and at what rate, with single, double and triple sharing priced apart.

What search engine optimisation means

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the work of getting your website to appear when a buyer searches Google for what you sell. GullySales builds pages around real search terms, fixes technical issues that block ranking, and tracks which searches actually bring enquiries.

For hostels

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Parents search by college name, not by hostel”

The search is boys hostel near a named engineering college or girls hostel near a coaching centre. A site that says only that it offers comfortable accommodation never matches those words, however good the rooms are.

  • “A brochure PDF is invisible”

Some hostels put the fee, the menu and the rules into a scanned brochure and send it on WhatsApp. A search engine cannot read an image of a fee table, so the page that would have matched the search does not exist.

  • “One page cannot serve three buyers”

The parent of a first-year student, a postgraduate scholar and a working professional ask different questions. A single home page that tries to answer all three matches none of their searches well.

  • “A search for the cheapest option is not your search”

Some searchers filter only on price. A hostel that wins on safety, food and distance does better by writing those strengths plainly, so the family who values them reaches the page and stays on it.

What we do

What we deliver for hostels.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A page for each college or hub you serve

A separate page per college, coaching centre or office park, written with the real walking distance, route and fee for that place.

Result: Searches naming a nearby institution have a page to land on.

  2. Fee, mess and rules as readable text

The fee, deposit terms, mess menu and house rules typed onto the page instead of locked in a PDF.

Result: The details a parent compares can be read by a search engine.

  3. Separate pages for students and professionals

One page for the family choosing for a student and one for the joiner who needs a stay near the office.

Result: Each buyer's questions are answered on a page built for them.

  4. Photos with plain descriptions

Room, corridor, mess and entrance photographs, named in words a searcher would use.

Result: Image search and the page both describe what a visit would show.

  5. A basic technical pass

Page titles, headings, mobile layout and speed checked, with broken links and duplicate pages fixed.

Result: The site loads properly on the phone a parent will use.

How the result is measured

  • Ranking positions
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from organic search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

How the search engine optimisation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Audit and baseline

We record where the site stands today: positions, traffic, technical faults and the enquiries search currently produces. Nothing starts until this number is written down.

  2. 2

    Decide what to rank for

We map the searches your buyers use, in your words and theirs, and pick the ones worth the effort for your margin and your capacity.

  3. 3

    Fix the foundations

Technical faults first, because the cheapest gains are usually there. Then the Business Profile and directory consistency.

  4. 4

    Build the pages

A page for each thing you do, written to answer the question it is searched for, with a clear next step at the end.

  5. 5

    Publish and earn mentions

Content goes out on the calendar. Links and mentions are earned from real relationships, not bought.

  6. 6

    Measure, report, adjust

At the interval agreed at the start we report what moved and what did not, and change the plan when the numbers say so.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How soon will we rank?
GullySales cannot promise a ranking or a date for one. Search engines weigh competing hostels, your pages and the area. The work is to make your pages match what a parent types, then read the search data as it builds.
Is a separate website needed, or will a listing do?
A listing helps with maps, but it cannot hold a fee page, a parent page and a page per college. A website you control carries those, and the listing points to it.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
