Pharmaceutical distributors · Logistics

Keep every chemist you supply and win the next company stockist code.

A chemist on the main road rings at four to say the shop is out of an antibiotic the delivery boy should have brought yesterday. The stockist's order sheet shows it was never entered. By evening the chemist has bought from a rival whose van was passing, and does not mention it.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Pharmaceutical distributors: show a real physical business scene illustrating Batch and expiry stock. Hold stock by item, batch, expiry and warehouse, and offer the earliest-dated batch first at billing unless the counter deliberately picks another one.

In one paragraph

A pharmaceutical distributor, also called a stockist, buys medicines from manufacturers and supplies chemists, hospitals and clinics under a drug licence. Marketing gets you noticed by companies choosing stockists and by chemists changing supplier. Sales is the order. It is also the credit, the expiry return and the collection that follows. GullySales builds the chemist record and follow-up behind them, using trade information only and no medicine advertising.

A stockist's margin is thin, so the business lives on how many chemists and hospitals buy a full order, how fast stock turns and how little is written off to expiry. Credit is where it breaks, because collections are chased from memory and a company looking at a stockist will ask about receivables.

How buyers decide

How pharmaceutical distributors are chosen.

A chemist picks the stockist who delivers the same day, carries the range, accepts near-expiry returns and extends credit for a fortnight or longer. Stockists are compared on fill rate and on how they behave on a bad day, more than on list price. A chemist who is shorted twice may start keeping a second stockist.

Companies choose stockists through their regional sales managers and area business managers. They look at your drug licence standing, godown capacity, cold storage if needed, retailer reach, financial strength and how you have handled other company codes. The field staff's own knowledge of a stockist's name carries weight when a district falls vacant.

Hospitals and nursing homes buy through purchase officers and pharmacy in-charges, on a tender or an approved vendor list. They look for the full range, the right batch and expiry, correct documents and an invoice their accounts team can pass. Rules on selling and advertising medicines differ by category and change, so your own adviser should confirm what can be shown.

The problem

What usually goes wrong for pharmaceutical distributors.

What owners tell us on the first call, in their words.

  • “Chemists leave when we miss two items”

A short supply is noticed by the chemist before it is noticed by us, because orders are taken on calls and slips with no check that every line was delivered.

  • “Receivables are chased on a diary basis”

Overdue chemists are remembered when the company's finance team asks, and each week of delay is credit the stockist has funded.

  • “Expiry and returns eat the margin”

Slow lines sit in the godown until they are near expiry, and returns to the company arrive late or are refused for a missing document.

  • “We hear about a vacant company code after another stockist is appointed”

The regional manager did not know we had the capacity, or had no one to call, and the code went elsewhere.

  • “Our field staff know the chemists, the owner does not”

The route lists and the chemists' habits belong to the medical representative or delivery staff, who can move to a competitor.

  • “Hospital enquiries get a rate but no follow-up”

A purchase officer asks for a quotation for a list of items, receives one and is never called back about the batch or the delivery schedule.

What we do

What we do for pharmaceutical distributors.

Everything included for pharmaceutical distributors.

  1. A chemist register with order history

Each chemist with licence name, area, owner phone, companies bought from you, order dates, credit limit and outstanding amount.

  2. A missed-item log

A record of every line ordered but not delivered, who ordered it and what happened next, for the owner to read.

  3. A capability profile for company managers

A short document with your drug licence details, godown size, cold-chain facility, vehicles, chemist and hospital count and the codes you already hold, for regional managers.

  4. An overdue and expiry review

A short list of chemists beyond their credit period and stock approaching expiry by company, arranged by company so that return claims and reminders can be prepared.

  5. A hospital quotation routine

A quotation format for item lists with batch, expiry and delivery terms, and a follow-up call logged against the purchase officer.

  6. WhatsApp ordering with delivery confirmation

A single number to which regular chemists send a list, with a confirmation message and delivery slot sent back and entered in the register.

How the result is measured

  • Chemists who ordered against chemists on the register
  • Lines ordered against lines delivered, by chemist
  • Overdue balance by chemist and age of invoice
  • Expiry return claims filed and accepted by each company
  • Hospital quotations sent against orders placed
  • Companies that replied about a vacant stockist code

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Worth a page and a campaign of their own

Chemist retention and fill rate · Appointment for a vacant company code · Receivables by chemist and age · Expiry and returns tracking by company · Hospital and nursing home supply lists · Clinic and doctor dispensing supply · Order taking by WhatsApp and phone · Delivery routes and same-day supply · Cold-chain storage and delivery proof

Priority campaigns

Campaigns for what pharmaceutical distributors most want to sell.

Each one planned around when your buyers decide, and measured against the baseline.

  • Company territory introduction

A note and capability profile to regional and area managers at companies expanding in your district, followed by a call when they announce a vacancy.

  • Chemist win-back round

A call or message to chemists who have stopped ordering, asking what was missed and offering the lines they used to buy.

  • Seasonal range readiness

Stock readiness messages for the monsoon, the flu season and the summer, listing the seasonal lines your range covers, sent to chemists ahead of each season.

  • Clinic and nursing home supply drive

A supply list and delivery terms for doctors who dispense from their clinic and for small nursing homes, with a visit from a salesman.

  • New chemist outlet round

A map of new and unserved chemists in your delivery area, with an introductory call and first-order terms the company allows.

Beyond search

Where we reach buyers of pharmaceutical distributors, beyond Google.

Search matters, but it is rarely the only way this industry's buyers find a supplier.

  • Regional and area managers at pharma companies

Companies growing in your region, listed with the manager who handles stockist appointments, each receiving the profile and a message that mentions the district.

  • Independent and chain chemists

A chemist who orders by phone from the counter also reads WhatsApp, so the register holds a number for each owner and the shortage reply goes there.

  • Hospital and nursing home purchase officers

An introduction and a quotation format for pharmacy in-charges and purchase officers who buy against an approved vendor list or a tender.

  • Doctors who dispense at their clinic

A supply note for clinics that keep a small stock for their own patients, subject to what the rules allow in your state.

  • Sub-stockists in neighbouring towns

A supply note for sub-stockists in towns where a company has no code holder, listing range, terms and delivery.

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for pharmaceutical distributors

  1. 1

Read the order and credit books

A day of orders is followed from the call or slip to the delivery, showing what is missed, who owes and which stock is nearing expiry.

  2. 2

    Build the chemist register

Chemists, orders, shortages and balances move out of slips and diaries into one register the owner can open.

  3. 3

    Set the routines

Order clerks and delivery staff get a missed-item log, an overdue review and a WhatsApp order flow, each written in plain steps.

  4. 4

Reach the companies and the hospitals

Company managers receive the capability profile; purchase officers receive a quotation format with batch and expiry on it.

  5. 5

    Widen the base

Unserved chemists and clinics are added, and the register shows how the count moved from the start.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

Engagement options

Ways to work with us.

Pick the size of commitment that fits. Every option starts with your brief and a conversation.

  1. Option 1

    The conversation on its own

A call after you send your brief. It says honestly whether you need outside help, and many fixes are ones your own team can make.

  2. Option 2

    One fix, scoped

Start with the fix that matters most, such as reply time or follow-up. The fee is in writing before anything starts.

  3. Option 3

    An ongoing programme

We run the work, report against the baseline, and you renew on the numbers. The term and the reporting are agreed in writing first.

  4. Option 4

Guidance for your own team or agency

We plan, brief and check the work of your in-house team or current agency, instead of replacing them.

FAQ

Questions pharmaceutical distributors ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can you advertise medicines for us?
No. Rules on promoting medicines differ by type of medicine and change, so we stay with supply information for the trade and check with your own adviser. Nothing on these pages is meant to promote a medicine to the public.
Can you help us get a company stockist code?
We can prepare your profile and reach the right managers. The company decides on territory, finance and fit, and we cannot promise an appointment.
Will chemists order on WhatsApp?
A chemist who already sends a list to a delivery boy or medical rep on WhatsApp can use the same habit. We set up one place for those lists and a confirmation reply, and your staff still answer calls.
Do you handle the drug licence or regulatory filings?
No. Those belong to you and your regulatory adviser. We place the licence details you give us and keep the pages in step with them.
A chemist wants more credit than we allow. How do we say no?
Keep a written credit limit and period against each chemist in the register, and show the outstanding amount when the request comes. The refusal then rests on the record, not on the salesman's mood. Offer to review the limit once the overdue amount is cleared.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and we tell you which applies to you after we have spoken. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
To start, last month's enquiries in any format and time with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM.
