Building material distributors · Search engine optimisation

Be the page a contractor finds when searching for a brand's distributor.

SEO for a building material distributor is the work of appearing when a builder, dealer or contractor searches for a brand, a product and a place together. GullySales works on brand pages, product pages and the plain facts a buyer checks before calling.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Building material suppliers: show a real physical business scene illustrating Phone and WhatsApp order entry. Record the order against a contractor and a site, with material, quantity, rate, delivery slot and who at that site may sign for the load.

What search engine optimisation means

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the work of getting your website to appear when a buyer searches Google for what you sell. GullySales builds pages around real search terms, fixes technical issues that block ranking, and tracks which searches actually bring enquiries.

For building material distributors

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Buyers search brand plus place”

A contractor looking for a tile adhesive or a pipe brand types the brand, the product and the city. A distributor with no page for that brand does not appear, however well known the shop is on the ground.

  • “Authorisation is the fact a buyer checks”

A page that names the brands you are appointed for, and says so plainly, answers the first doubt a buyer has. A page that implies authorisation for a brand you do not hold invites trouble and loses trust.

  • “Product pages written as catalogue copy fail”

A list of specifications copied from the manufacturer's sheet competes with the manufacturer. A page that adds your delivery area, minimum order, stock position and the person to call gives a search engine and a buyer something new.

  • “Dealers search differently from builders”

A retail dealer looks for a distributor for a scheme, a margin or a territory. The dealer's search wording differs from a site engineer's, and one page cannot serve both.

What we do

What we deliver for building material distributors.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A page for each brand you hold

One page per authorised brand, stating your appointment, the product groups available and the area you deliver to.

Result: Every brand you distribute has a page that a searcher can land on.

  2. Product group pages written from your stock

Pages for cement, tiles, pipes, paints and fittings, written from what you hold and how it is sold, with units and delivery notes.

Result: A buyer can read what you stock without calling to ask.

  3. A dealer page

A separate page for retailers explaining how to become a dealer, what schemes apply and who to speak to.

Result: Dealer enquiries arrive on a page written for them.

  4. A technical audit of the existing site

A check of page speed on a phone, broken links, duplicate pages and how the site reads in search results.

Result: You hold a written list of faults, in order of importance.

  5. Rate and quote request markup

A clear route from every product page to a rate request, with the form tested on a phone.

Result: A searcher who reaches a page can ask for a rate in one step.

How the result is measured

  • Ranking positions
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from organic search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Searches your buyers type

Write pages for the brand-and-place searches.

cement dealer in this town
A page for each brand you are authorised for, naming the town, the delivery area and a rate-request button.
tiles distributor near this locality
A product group page with the brands carried and a showroom or godown address, matched to your map profile.
authorised distributor of this pipe brand
A page stating the authorisation as your firm holds it, with the brand's name and the area supplied.
wholesale paint supplier for contractors
A contractor page covering shades, pack sizes, credit and delivery, with a contact for site orders.
building material supplier for apartment projects
A builder page describing bulk supply, schedule planning and invoice handling for developers.

Who it is for

This is written for these building material distributors.

  • Residential builders and apartment developers
  • Civil contractors on commercial and industrial sites
  • Independent house owners building with a mistri
  • Retail dealers and hardware shops in the surrounding towns
  • Interior and finishing contractors
  • Architects and structural consultants who specify brands
  • Housing societies and institutions doing repairs
  • Plumbing, electrical and tiling contractors who buy for their jobs

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Your brand authorisations are not in writing, so a page stating them would claim something you cannot show.
  • You cover a single locality and your buyers ring the salesman, so more search reach would bring buyers outside the delivery area.

How it works

How the search engine optimisation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Audit and baseline

We record where the site stands today: positions, traffic, technical faults and the enquiries search currently produces. Nothing starts until this number is written down.

  2. 2

    Decide what to rank for

We map the searches your buyers use, in your words and theirs, and pick the ones worth the effort for your margin and your capacity.

  3. 3

    Fix the foundations

Technical faults first, because the cheapest gains are there. Then the Business Profile and directory consistency.

  4. 4

    Build the pages

A page for each thing you do, written to answer the question it is searched for, with a clear next step at the end.

  5. 5

    Publish and earn mentions

Content goes out on the calendar. Links and mentions are earned from real relationships, not bought.

  6. 6

    Measure, report, adjust

At an interval agreed in writing we report what moved and what did not, and change the plan when the numbers say so.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

Will SEO bring us customers from other cities?
It may bring enquiries from outside your delivery area, and those waste time. We write pages around the area you supply, so the searchers who reach you are the ones you can serve.
How do we know if SEO is working?
Look at the pages that receive visits, the enquiries that name a page, and the orders that began as a web enquiry. We set these out at the start so you can compare later.
Can a page show that we are an authorised distributor?
Yes, if you hold the authorisation, and state it as the brand's letter gives it. Buyers check this fact first and trust a page that names the brand and the area. Never use the logo in a way the brand's own terms do not allow.
Do builders and dealers search for different things?
Yes. A builder types a material, a brand and a place, while a dealer searches for a distributor, a scheme or an agency. Build a page for each so the wording matches the search, and send the dealer page to a different contact.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
