Food product wholesalers · WhatsApp marketing

Send the right rate to the right buyer on the app they already answer.

WhatsApp marketing for a food product wholesaler is using WhatsApp Business to send rates, catalogues, order confirmations and reminders to the buyers who already order by phone. GullySales works on the lists, the messages and the rules that keep it useful without annoying anyone.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For food product wholesalers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The order is placed on WhatsApp already”

Kirana owners, caterers and purchase managers send a list on WhatsApp and wait for a reply. The wholesaler who answers first with a correct total has the better chance of the order, and the one who answers late loses it.

  • “One broadcast to everyone is the wrong message”

A rate for bulk edible oil sent to a small sweet shop, or a retail pack list sent to a hotel, is noise. Buyers need to be grouped by what they buy so each hears only what applies to them.

  • “A personal number hides the buyer history”

When orders sit on a salesman's own phone, the conversations leave with that person. A shared business number keeps the history and lets the owner see how replies are going.

  • “Permission matters”

A buyer who has not agreed to receive messages may block the number or report it. The list should hold buyers who have ordered or asked, and each should be able to say stop.

What we do

What we deliver for food product wholesalers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A WhatsApp Business setup with catalogue

A business profile with name, address, hours and a catalogue of your main lines with pack sizes, kept without prices that go stale.

Result: A profile a new buyer can read and trust.

  2. Buyer lists grouped by what they buy

Lists for kirana, caterer, hotel and outstation buyers, and by commodity, so a rate message goes only to those it matters to.

Result: A rate message reaches the right group.

  3. The day's rate message format

A fixed layout for the morning rate with date, items, pack sizes and the cut-off time, sent from one person.

Result: Every buyer sees the same rate in the same layout.

  4. Saved replies for common questions

Saved answers for rate, minimum order, delivery area, credit and sample, written in your own words.

Result: Common questions get a consistent reply.

  5. Order confirmation and reorder messages

A message confirming each order with items and delivery, and a reminder when a buyer's usual reorder date arrives.

Result: Buyers get a confirmation and a nudge at the right time.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

Messages a kitchen or shop will answer, and the details worth recording when they do.

Today's rate for the items they buy
Send only the items that buyer takes, with pack and the day the rate is valid. A long list for everyone is ignored; a short list to the right buyer is read.
Photograph of the lot
Send a picture of the sack or tin label with the lot. Record the reply, since it shows a buyer who is checking you against a rival.
Order confirmation with quantity
Repeat the item, quantity, pack and delivery point back to the buyer. It fixes a misheard order before the van loads.
Delivery day notice
Message the evening before. It reduces a locked kitchen door and records whether the buyer confirmed.
Payment reminder with invoice copy
Send the invoice photograph with the balance and the promise date. It is polite and gives the buyer something to pay against.

Who it is for

This is written for these food product wholesalers.

  • Rice, flour and pulses wholesalers in the main grain market
  • Edible oil and ghee wholesalers selling tins, cartons and loose
  • Spices and masala wholesalers supplying retailers and caterers
  • Dry fruit, nuts and dates traders selling by the carton
  • Sugar, jaggery and sweetener wholesalers
  • Packed food and snacks wholesalers who buy from several brands
  • Frozen and chilled food wholesalers with cold storage
  • Bakery and confectionery ingredient suppliers

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Buyers have not agreed to be messaged, and a rate list to all of them would be read as spam and harm your name.
  • Rates move several times a day, with nobody to send corrections, so a message would put a wrong figure in a buyer's hands.

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

Read the chats you already have

We read how customers write to you, which questions repeat and where a chat goes quiet. The repeated questions decide what gets automated first.

  2. 2

Sort the list and the permission

Contacts who asked to hear from you are separated from numbers that only sit in a phone book. We agree the wording new contacts will see before they say yes.

  3. 3

Choose the app or the API

One phone and a small team can stay on the ordinary app. Several people on one number, templates or a CRM link need the API through a provider, which is its own piece of setup work.

  4. 4

Write the replies and the plan

The greeting, away message, saved replies and handover rule are written in your words and approved by you. The message plan and its templates follow.

  5. 5

    Connect the record and test

Each link carries its source line and each chat lands in the CRM. We test on real phones, including a customer who asks for a person.

  6. 6

    Read the unanswered questions

A question the first reply could not answer becomes a new saved reply or a fixed handover. Stop requests are watched too, with the number's quality rating where the API is used, since both show a message plan that has gone too far.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Is it allowed to message buyers in bulk?
Send only to buyers who have ordered or asked to hear from you, and check the platform's current rules on business messaging. We set up lists and an opt-out so you stay within them.
Should we use the WhatsApp Business app or the API?
A small wholesaler is well served by the Business app. A larger team may need the API for shared inboxes and automation. We recommend by the number of people answering and the volume of messages.
Can salesmen use their own numbers?
They can, but the history then stays on their phones. We suggest a shared business number for rates and orders, with salesmen using it so the conversation belongs to the business.
Can salesmen use their own numbers for buyers?
Use a firm number the owner can read for rates and orders, and keep personal numbers for calls. A buyer's order and rate history belong to the business. If a salesman leaves with the only chat, the buyer's trail goes too.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
