Road transport companies · WhatsApp marketing

Take bookings, rates and lorry receipts over the chat your consignors already use.

WhatsApp marketing for a road transport company means using the chat your consignors already live in to share rates, confirm bookings and send lorry receipts. GullySales works on the business number, the standard replies and the broadcast lists that keep it organised.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For road transport companies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The booking already happens on WhatsApp”

A munim sends goods details and a photograph of the bales and expects a rate in return. If the answer comes late, or from a clerk's personal number nobody else can see, the consignment goes elsewhere.

  • “A personal number is a single point of failure”

When one clerk's phone carries all the customers, a lost handset or a resignation takes the book with it. A business number with shared access keeps the conversations with the company.

  • “The lorry receipt photograph is proof”

Sending a clear photograph of the receipt and the vehicle details settles questions of what was loaded and when. A saved thread becomes the record when a dispute arises.

  • “A broadcast can irritate if it is not asked for”

A message to a long list of numbers about a lane reaches some who never booked. Consignors who opted in welcome a return-load alert, whereas strangers reply to complain, or block the number.

What we do

What we deliver for road transport companies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A business number with a clear profile

A WhatsApp Business account with the company name, office address, timings and a catalogue of lanes.

Result: A stranger who messages sees a company, not a person.

  2. Standard replies for the counter

Saved answers for rate enquiries, booking details needed, receipt sent and delivery update.

Result: Every clerk answers in the same words.

  3. An opt-in broadcast list by lane

A list of consignors who agreed to receive lane and return-load messages, grouped by route.

Result: Messages go only to those who asked for them.

  4. A booking confirmation and receipt message

A fixed format that confirms vehicle, pickup and the receipt photograph.

Result: The consignor holds a written confirmation of each booking.

  5. A rule for who answers and when

Named staff for each shift, and an away message for the hours the counter is closed.

Result: A message sent at night gets an honest reply when the counter opens.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

Use WhatsApp for these booking moments and keep promotions apart.

Booking request received
A reply naming the lane, goods and the clerk who will confirm, so the consignor knows the message was seen and not lost in a shared number.
Lorry receipt photograph
The image sent to the consignor and the consignee once the goods are loaded, kept in the booking record as proof of handover.
Vehicle number and driver contact
A short message before arrival at the gate, so the factory dispatch clerk can plan loading without phoning the counter.
Delivery done
A note that the goods are at the godown or delivered, with the time, recorded by the destination clerk.
Opt-in to lane updates
A consignor's reply agreeing to hear about return loads on one lane, saved with the lane so the broadcast list is by route.

Who it is for

This is written for these road transport companies.

  • Goods transport companies running fixed lanes between towns
  • Part-load and parcel transporters with booking offices in transport nagars
  • Full-load operators who book vehicles for traders and factories
  • Tempo and mini-truck operators for in-city and nearby-town runs
  • Transporters serving cloth, hardware and general wholesale markets
  • Transporters serving industrial estates and engineering clusters
  • Commission agents who book goods for several transporters
  • Transport companies with their own godown and door delivery at the destination

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • The booking number is one clerk's personal phone, so a business account would still lose the history when that person leaves.
  • You want to send promotional messages to every old customer in one go, which the platform's current rules and many traders do not welcome.

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

Read the chats you already have

We read how customers write to you, which questions repeat and where a chat goes quiet. The repeated questions decide what gets automated first.

  2. 2

Sort the list and the permission

Contacts who asked to hear from you are separated from numbers that only sit in a phone book. We agree the wording new contacts will see before they say yes.

  3. 3

Choose the app or the API

One phone and a small team can stay on the ordinary app. Several people on one number, templates or a CRM link need the API through a provider, which is its own piece of setup work.

  4. 4

Write the replies and the plan

The greeting, away message, saved replies and handover rule are written in your words and approved by you. The message plan and its templates follow.

  5. 5

    Connect the record and test

Each link carries its source line and each chat lands in the CRM. We test on real phones, including a customer who asks for a person.

  6. 6

    Read the unanswered questions

A question the first reply could not answer becomes a new saved reply or a fixed handover. Stop requests are watched too, with the number's quality rating where the API is used, since both show a message plan that has gone too far.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Is it allowed to send promotional messages to our customer list?
Check the platform's current rules and get the consignor's agreement first. Send updates to people who booked or asked, and give a clear way to opt out.
Can we use one number for all branches?
You can, but each office with a counter does better with its own business number, so the nearest branch replies. Agree one set of standard answers across all of them.
Should the replies be automated?
Automate the first reply and common questions, but let a person handle the rate and the booking. A transport rate depends on goods, weight and lane, so a machine answer would be wrong.
Should drivers be added to consignor chats?
Add the driver only to a chat for one consignment and remove them after delivery. A driver in a standing chat sees rates and other consignors' goods. Use a small group naming the vehicle, the clerk and the consignor, closed once the receipt is signed.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
