Laboratory and scientific equipment suppliers · Buyer persona

The person who signs the order is not the person who wrote the specification.

A buyer persona for a laboratory supplier is a written picture of each person in a purchase: the one who specifies, the one who raises the purchase order and the one who pays for it. GullySales builds those pictures from your own quotations and orders, so every message reaches the right desk.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What buyer persona means

A buyer persona is a plain description of the kind of customer who actually buys from you. It includes what they search, what worries them and who else they ask before deciding. GullySales builds this from real enquiries and past sales rather than a generic template, then uses it to write every page and advert.

For laboratory and scientific equipment suppliers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The professor writes the specification and never sees the price”

A professor or lab in-charge decides the range, the accuracy and the make. The comparative statement is read by someone else. A message about rate sent to the professor, or about the technical clause sent to the store, lands on the wrong desk.

  • “The purchase officer is judged on a clean file”

The store or purchase officer cares that quotations arrive in the same format, that the authorisation letter is attached and that nothing is queried later by audit. A supplier who makes that file easy is quoted again the next time.

  • “The quality head in a factory buys on a different logic”

A food, water or pharmaceutical plant has a testing lab run by a quality head who answers for accuracy, calibration and downtime. The talk is about traceable certificates and how fast a breakdown is attended to, not about a department budget.

  • “The consumable buyer is a person at a bench”

The one who reorders tips, filter papers and media is a technician or junior chemist watching the shelf. They want the right pack on the day it runs out. Another phone number in their diary matters more to them than a brochure.

What we do

What we deliver for laboratory and scientific equipment suppliers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A persona for each seat in the purchase

One page each for the specifier, the store officer, the quality head and the bench technician, written from the quotations and orders you already hold: what each asks first and what each fears.

Result: Your team can say who they are writing to before they write.

  2. A map of your last won and lost orders by role

Each order traced to who raised the need, who wrote the specification and who approved the rate, with the gaps marked where you never met one of them.

Result: You see which seat you have never reached.

  3. Questions each persona asks, answered in your material

The specification sheet for the professor, the document pack for the store, the calibration note for the quality head and the pack-size list for the bench.

Result: Each reader finds their question answered without ringing you.

  4. A conversation guide for visits and calls

A short guide for the person visiting a department or phoning a lab: what to ask the specifier, what to ask the store, and what to leave out with each.

Result: A visit ends with a named contact in each seat.

  5. A contact list built by role, not only by institution

Each institution on your list recorded with the specifier, the purchase contact and the user, so the list shows who is missing.

Result: An institution with one name against it is visibly incomplete.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiry match to persona
  • Conversion rate by persona
  • Content aligned to persona

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the buyer persona work runs

  1. 1

    Understand the current view

We start with how your team currently describes the customer, since the gap between belief and reality is often the finding itself.

  2. 2

    Audit past enquiries and sales

We look at recent enquiries and closed deals to see who actually bought, not who was assumed to buy.

  3. 3

    Interview customers and staff

Short, structured conversations surface the real language, worries and triggers behind a purchase.

  4. 4

    Build the personas

Findings are written into short, usable persona documents rather than a long report.

  5. 5

    Apply to your marketing

We show exactly where each persona should change a page, an ad or a script you already have.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Do we need a separate persona for government and private labs?
Yes. A government college buys through a committee, GeM and a comparative statement. A private testing lab buys on a few quotations and one person's judgement. The first needs papers in order; the second needs a quick, clear answer from someone who knows the instrument.
How do we find out who writes the specification?
Ask at the department, politely, during the visit: who decides what is wanted, and who raises the file. Past orders also show it, because the person named on the enquiry and the instruction letter is usually the specifier or the in-charge.
Is one persona enough for consumable buyers?
Not quite. The technician who orders and the in-charge who approves the budget want different things. Keep both on the record, and write the reorder reminder to the first while the rate contract goes to the second.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
