Textile manufacturers · Buyer persona

The person who asks for the swatch is rarely the person who approves the order.

A buyer persona for a textile manufacturer describes who asks for a swatch, who checks the compliance papers and who signs off the trial order, because in fabric sourcing those are often three different people. GullySales writes one persona for each buyer type you already sell to, from your own enquiry and order records.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What buyer persona means

A buyer persona is a plain description of the kind of customer who actually buys from you. It includes what they search, what worries them and who else they ask before deciding. GullySales builds this from real enquiries and past sales rather than a generic template, then uses it to write every page and advert.

For textile manufacturers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The merchandiser and the compliance reader want different pages”

A merchandiser at a garment exporter looks for GSM, width, MOQ and a sample route. A compliance executive at the same company looks for the GOTS or OEKO-TEX scope certificate. One generic fabric page answers neither of them properly.

  • “A buying house shortlists on behalf of a brand it does not name”

The buying house sourcing for an overseas label carries that brand's rules in its head. It asks for documents before it asks for price, and it cannot tell you the end brand. Your persona has to be written around the house's checklist.

  • “A domestic garment unit decides on reliability and a known contact”

The owner of a garment unit in Tiruppur or Ludhiana reorders from the mill that kept its last delivery date and answers the phone. This buyer reads little on a website and trusts a reference from another unit.

  • “A home textile or technical buyer buys on a test result”

A bedding retailer wants thread count and shrinkage. An industrial buyer wants tensile strength against a named test standard. Looks hardly matter to either, so the persona must list the figures this buyer will ask for.

What we do

What we deliver for textile manufacturers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Merchandiser persona

A written profile of the sourcing merchandiser at a garment brand or exporter: what they type into a search, which specification fields they check first and what makes them request a swatch.

Result: Your fabric pages open with the fields this buyer looks for.

  2. Compliance reader persona

A profile of the person who checks certification and audit papers, covering which documents they ask for and where they expect to find them.

Result: The certificate and its validity are stated where the compliance reader looks.

  3. Buying house and agent persona

A profile of the buying house or export agent sourcing for a brand, written from the questions they put to you in past enquiries.

Result: Your reply to a buying house answers its checklist in the order it uses.

  4. Domestic unit owner persona

A profile of the garment or hosiery unit owner who reorders by phone, including who else in the unit influences the choice.

Result: Your follow-up for this buyer rests on delivery record and a phone call.

  5. Persona from your own records

Each persona is built from your enquiry book, sample register and order history, then marked where the evidence is thin so your team can correct it.

Result: You can read each persona against accounts you know.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiry match to persona
  • Conversion rate by persona
  • Content aligned to persona

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the buyer persona work runs

  1. 1

    Understand the current view

We start with how your team currently describes the customer, since the gap between belief and reality is often the finding itself.

  2. 2

    Audit past enquiries and sales

We look at recent enquiries and closed deals to see who actually bought, not who was assumed to buy.

  3. 3

    Interview customers and staff

Short, structured conversations surface the real language, worries and triggers behind a purchase.

  4. 4

    Build the personas

Findings are written into short, usable persona documents rather than a long report.

  5. 5

    Apply to your marketing

We show exactly where each persona should change a page, an ad or a script you already have.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How many personas does a mill need?
One for each buyer type that already sends you enquiries. A mill selling to exporters, buying houses and domestic units needs three. Start from the accounts in your order book, not from an imagined ideal buyer.
Where does the information for a persona come from?
From your sample register, quotation file and the questions buyers asked on calls and by message. GullySales reads these with you, marks what is a pattern and what is a single case, and asks you to correct the rest.
Do we need a separate persona for an export market?
Only where the buyer behaves differently. A buyer in Europe may ask for a certificate first, while one in the Gulf may ask for a price band first. If your own enquiries show that split, the personas show it too.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
