Trade associations · Local SEO

Put the market, its lanes and its office on the map where buyers look.

Local SEO for a trade association is the work of making the market, its office and its member shops appear correctly when someone searches near the place. GullySales sets up and corrects the listings and map details, and does not promise any position.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What local SEO means

Local SEO is the work of making your business show up for searches that name your town or locality, such as a service plus an area name. GullySales sets up locality pages, local citations and map listings so nearby customers find you before a competitor across town.

For trade associations

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Buyers search for the market, not the shop”

A retailer from another town planning a buying trip searches for the wholesale market, then the trade, then the lane. The association's listing can be the entry point if the market itself is on the map under the name people use.

  • “The office address and the market address differ”

The committee room may sit above a shop, in a lane that is not the market's main road. A listing that points to the wrong gate sends visitors to a closed shutter. The listing needs the entrance as a visitor would find it.

  • “Duplicate listings split the reviews and the calls”

A past secretary created one profile, the club next door created another, and a stranger suggested a third. Callers reach whichever has a working number. Claiming the right one and merging or removing the rest gives one place to keep correct.

  • “Member shops benefit from a shared map story”

When each shop lists itself with a different market name, none of them tells a visitor where the market is. An agreed way of naming the market, used by all consenting members, lets the listings support each other.

What we do

What we deliver for trade associations.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A claimed profile for the association

The map profile claimed by the association, with name, entrance, office hours, phone and a short description.

Result: A visitor searching the market's name finds a profile the committee controls.

  2. A duplicate listing review

A list of other profiles that use the association's name or address, with the step to claim, merge or report each.

Result: The committee knows which listings are stray and what is to be done about them.

  3. An agreed market name

A single wording for the market and its lanes, shared with member shops that wish to use it.

Result: Member listings name the market the same way.

  4. Photos of the entrance and the lane

Pictures that show a visitor how to find the gate, with no member's shop shown without their agreement.

Result: A first-time visitor can recognise the entrance.

  5. A reply routine for reviews and questions

A short guide to who answers a question or review on the profile and in what tone.

Result: No question on the profile sits unanswered, and a named person replies.

How the result is measured

  • Map pack ranking
  • Local search visibility
  • Enquiries by locality

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Who it is for

This is written for these trade associations.

  • Wholesale market traders' associations in one mandi, cloth market or hardware lane
  • Retail shopkeepers' associations for a street, a mall or a main road
  • Dealers' associations for a single product such as tyres, pumps or electricals
  • Street vendor and hawkers' unions that act as a trade body
  • Distributors' and stockists' associations tied to one brand family
  • Taluk and district level associations federated from smaller bodies
  • Associations of chemists, grain merchants or jewellers
  • Bazaar and market welfare committees that collect a regular subscription

How it works

How the local SEO work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Audit every listing

We check the Google Business Profile and directory listings for every branch against what should actually be shown.

  2. 2

    Complete and correct

Profiles are filled in fully and inconsistent details are corrected across every directory found.

  3. 3

    Build location pages

Each branch gets a page written for its own area, not a copy of the head office page with the address changed.

  4. 4

    Set up review handling

A simple process for requesting and responding to reviews is put in place with whoever is closest to the customer.

  5. 5

    Report and adjust

Map actions and enquiries per branch are recorded, and the branches falling behind come first in the next round of work.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Does the association need its own map profile?
If it has a physical office or a notice board that visitors come to, yes. A profile also protects the name from being claimed by someone else. If the office is a room in a member's shop, we discuss what to show.
Can we list all member shops on one profile?
No. Each shop is its own business and lists itself. The association's profile describes the market and the body, and can point to the members' directory on its own website with consent.
Who should manage the profile?
Two office bearers, so one person's absence does not lock the committee out. Keep the login in the association's own record, not on one person's phone.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
