Multi-branch retail chains · Other

Bring each branch its own footfall under one brand.

A mobile retailer with nine stores across Mysuru, Mandya and Hassan runs one festive offer through one agency and one banner. The Hassan store is busy by Dhanteras.

In one paragraph

A multi-branch retail chain is a retailer that owns and runs several stores of its own, such as a jeweller, pharmacy, supermarket, mobile shop or footwear brand across a city or state. Branches share a name and stock but are won one catchment at a time. GullySales builds branch-level visibility, footfall offers and enquiry follow-up.

The Mandya store, a street off the main road, is quiet, because the shoppers around it did not search for the brand and the Google listing still shows last year's phone number. A chain does not fail as one shop. It fails branch by branch.

The buyers a branch gets are local: the person who walked past, the family whose cousin recommended the shop, the office next door. Chain marketing is still planned at the head office for the whole city and pasted onto every branch. Your branch manager knows the street but may have neither the tools nor the time to act on it.

How buyers decide

How multi-branch retail chains are chosen.

A shopper picks a branch by nearness first. Then comes familiarity with the brand, a visible price or offer and, for big purchases, trust in the staff. For jewellery, appliances or furniture, shoppers compare several stores before deciding, and a missed call at one branch sends the sale to another. For daily goods, a loyalty card or a home delivery number keeps the household returning.

Inside the chain, the owner or marketing head chooses where to spend on a store-by-store basis. They ask which branches are lagging, whether a new store is opening, and whether an offer worked. Branch-level numbers for calls, walk-ins and billing sit in different places, so spending follows the loudest branch manager.

The problem

What usually goes wrong for multi-branch retail chains.

What owners tell us on the first call, in their words.

  • “Branch listings are out of date”

Opening hours, phone numbers and photos differ from the actual store, and shoppers go to a branch that is closed.

  • “One offer is pasted across every branch”

A discount planned at the head office makes sense in one catchment and costs margin in another.

  • “Calls to branches go unanswered”

Staff are with customers and the phone rings out. The caller tries the next store in the city.

  • “We cannot tell which branch an enquiry belongs to”

Online forms and WhatsApp messages arrive at the head office with no branch tag, and nobody follows them.

  • “New stores open quietly”

The shutter goes up on a Friday and the neighbours do not know. The first weeks decide whether the branch finds its feet.

  • “Loyalty and repeat purchase are left to the till”

Customer numbers are captured at billing but nobody sends them a message when a new collection arrives or a service is due.

What we do

What we do for multi-branch retail chains.

Everything included for multi-branch retail chains.

  1. A listing for each branch that matches the shop

Verified listings with the right hours, phone, photos, categories and a link to the branch page, plus a way for managers to update them.

  2. Branch pages with their own details

A page per store with its address, map, hours, departments, parking and staff contact.

  3. Branch tagging for every enquiry

Forms, calls and WhatsApp messages tagged to a branch and sent to its manager with a reminder if nothing has happened.

  4. A store opening plan

A plan for the weeks around a new branch: listing, hoardings, local ads, a message to existing customers nearby and an opening offer.

  5. Offer guide by catchment

A short guide on which offers each branch may run, with the head office price band and the creative ready.

  6. Branch comparison for the owner

A view of calls, enquiries, walk-ins noted and billing by branch, drawn from your own records.

How the result is measured

  • Calls and directions requests per branch
  • Enquiries tagged to a branch and followed up
  • Missed calls per branch
  • Walk-ins noted from campaigns
  • Repeat customers reached by message
  • New store footfall in its first weeks

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Worth a page and a campaign of their own

A verified Google listing for every branch · A branch locator page with each store's own details · Branch-wise missed-call and enquiry follow-up · Branch-level offers within a head office price band · Opening campaign for each new store · WhatsApp broadcasts to customers with consent · Festive and wedding season planning by branch · A branch comparison view for the owner

Priority campaigns

Campaigns for what multi-branch retail chains most want to sell.

Each one planned around when your buyers decide, and measured against the baseline.

  • Branch-by-branch local search campaign

Search and Maps ads for each store's catchment with its own address and offer.

  • New store opening

Hoardings, local ads, a Google listing with fresh photos and a message to existing customers within reach.

  • Festival and wedding season drive

A seasonal plan for Diwali, Akshaya Tritiya, Eid or wedding months, with branch stock and offers set by the head office.

  • Loyalty message to repeat customers

WhatsApp messages about new arrivals, refills or servicing to customers who have given consent.

  • Weak branch recovery plan

A short review and a local plan for one branch, which can include neighbourhood outreach and a better listing.

Beyond search

Where we reach buyers of multi-branch retail chains, beyond Google.

Search matters, but it is rarely the only way this industry's buyers find a supplier.

  • Households near each branch

Residents within a short ride who type "pharmacy near me" or "mobile shop near me" into Google Maps or ask in the building's WhatsApp group.

  • Shoppers searching for a product by name

People searching for a particular make, model or brand, who need a result that points to the nearest store with stock.

  • Past customers in the billing records

Customers whose numbers were taken at the billing counter, messaged on WhatsApp or SMS only where they agreed to it.

  • Offices, schools and housing societies

Office admin heads, school purchase staff and society secretaries near a branch, who place bulk orders for uniforms, stationery, medicines or gifts and get a one-page offer sheet.

  • Passing traffic

Two-wheeler commuters and highway travellers who see a hoarding or a lit signboard on the road outside the branch.

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

How the work runs for multi-branch retail chains

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Walk the chain

A call or visit to several branches shows how enquiries arrive, how the phone is answered and what the Google listing says.

  2. 2

Fix the basics in every branch

Listings, pages and phone routines are set to one standard before any advertising is bought.

  3. 3

    Tag and route the enquiries

Each enquiry is tied to its branch and followed by the manager.

  4. 4

    Plan offers by catchment

The offer guide is written with you, so a manager in Mandya and one in Hassan know the same price band.

  5. 5

Put calls, enquiries and billing for each branch in one table

A simple table of calls, enquiries and billing by branch lets you see which store needs spend and which needs a closer look.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

GullySales builds every engagement from three pieces of sales work. This page is not one of them, but the same three steps apply to the business behind it.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions multi-branch retail chains ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

We own all our branches. Is this the same as a franchise?
No. Franchise brands sell units to investors, while you own and run every store. The work here is branch-level visibility and follow-up, not recruiting partners.
Can you work with our billing software?
We work with what you already use or a simple sheet. We do not replace your billing system. We read from it what is needed for branch-level numbers.
Who controls a branch’s Google listing when its manager leaves?
Keep the listing under an account that head office owns, with the manager added as a user. When the manager leaves, you remove one name and the hours, phone number and photos stay with the chain. A listing created on a manager’s personal login is the one that gets stuck.
Do you handle jewellery or pharmacy rules in your advertising?
We keep to general, accurate wording. Hallmarking, drug and pricing rules differ by state and change, so your team and adviser check the claims.
Can branch managers run their own promotions?
Yes, inside a short guide that sets the price band and the creative, so a local offer does not harm another branch.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and we tell you which applies to you after we have spoken. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
To start, last month's enquiries in any format and time with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM.
