Contract farming companies · WhatsApp marketing

Use the app growers already open to explain terms and keep payment news clear.

WhatsApp marketing for a contract farming company means village groups, broadcast lists and one-to-one chats used to enrol growers, share advice and report payment, plus a business number that buyers can message. GullySales sets up the groups, the saved replies and the consent record, and asks you to check the platform's current rules.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For contract farming companies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The farmer already lives in WhatsApp”

A grower shares voice notes and photographs there. The terms sheet as an image and a voice note in the language reach the household without any new app to learn.

  • “A village group is also a rumour channel”

A group where the company posts and farmers reply can spread a payment delay faster than any message from you. The group needs an administrator and a rule for what is posted.

  • “Broadcasts to people who did not agree cause complaints”

Adding a farmer to a list without permission invites blocks and reports. Permission recorded at the meeting, with a way to leave, protects the number and the relationship.

  • “Buyers use the business number differently”

A procurement manager sends a brief question and expects a prompt, clear reply with attachments. A business profile with the catalogue of crops and the proof pack answers the first message.

What we do

What we deliver for contract farming companies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A WhatsApp Business account for buyers

A business profile listing crops, districts and a link to the proof pack, with saved replies for common buyer questions.

Result: A buyer's first message gets a complete reply.

  2. Village groups with rules

Groups per village or crop with a named administrator, posting rules and pinned terms sheet.

Result: Each group has one owner and one version of the terms.

  3. A consent record

The farmer's agreement to receive messages, noted at enrolment with the date.

Result: You can show who agreed to be contacted.

  4. Voice and image templates

Short voice notes and one-page images for terms, advice and payment steps in the local language.

Result: The same message goes to every village.

  5. A routine for payment messages

A fixed message for each payment step and a person who sends it.

Result: Payment news comes from the company before it arrives as rumour.

  6. Saved replies for buyers and growers

Prepared answers to the common questions, edited by the person who sends them.

Result: A reply on the business number carries the same facts each time.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

Use voice notes and images for growers, and the business number for buyers.

Consent to be messaged
Taken by the field officer in the home language and recorded with the number and the date. It prevents complaints about broadcasts.
Voice note explaining the terms
A short recording in the local language that the grower can replay or share with the family, covering the agreement in the field officer's own words.
Collection schedule image
A card showing the date, the collection point and the grade, sent to growers in a village group the company administers.
Payment record message
A message with the lot reference, sent by the accounts person after settlement is recorded. It answers the question before the grower asks it.
Buyer saved replies
Prepared answers on crop, grade and sample lots, sent from the business number so the sourcing manager sees one company voice.

Who it is for

This is written for these contract farming companies.

  • Contract growers for processing potatoes, gherkins and tomatoes
  • Seed production contract farming for seed companies
  • Contract farming for export crops such as pomegranate, banana and onion
  • Herbal and medicinal plant contract growers
  • Sugarcane, maize and oilseed contract farming for mills and processors
  • Organic produce contract farming for retail brands
  • Contract dairy and poultry farming arrangements
  • Farmer producer company-led contract farming

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You would add every farmer to one group without rules, which becomes a rumour channel.
  • You have no consent from the growers, and the field officers use personal numbers.
  • You hope a group will replace field meetings.

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

Read the chats you already have

We read how customers write to you, which questions repeat and where a chat goes quiet. The repeated questions decide what gets automated first.

  2. 2

Sort the list and the permission

Contacts who asked to hear from you are separated from numbers that only sit in a phone book. We agree the wording new contacts will see before they say yes.

  3. 3

Choose the app or the API

One phone and a small team can stay on the ordinary app. Several people on one number, templates or a CRM link need the API through a provider, which is its own piece of setup work.

  4. 4

Write the replies and the plan

The greeting, away message, saved replies and handover rule are written in your words and approved by you. The message plan and its templates follow.

  5. 5

    Connect the record and test

Each link carries its source line and each chat lands in the CRM. We test on real phones, including a customer who asks for a person.

  6. 6

    Read the unanswered questions

A question the first reply could not answer becomes a new saved reply or a fixed handover. Stop requests are watched too, with the number's quality rating where the API is used, since both show a message plan that has gone too far.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Is a WhatsApp group enough for growers?
It carries the messages, but not the record. Keep the grower register as the source and use the group to communicate from it.
Can we message farmers in bulk?
Only those who agreed to receive messages. Check the platform's current rules on business messaging, and keep a clear way for a farmer to leave the list.
Can a village group replace meetings?
No. The meeting builds the trust and the group keeps it. Use the group to confirm what was said and to share dates, not to recruit strangers.
Should the village group allow all farmers to post?
Set rules before it opens. Let the company post terms, collection notices and payment news, and let growers ask questions through a named field officer. An open group fills with rumour about rates, and a false story spreads faster than the correction.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Your next practical step

Tell us what you are trying to grow, and we will read it before we call.

Eight short steps, mostly taps. Skip anything you would rather answer on the call.
