Film production houses · WhatsApp marketing

Use WhatsApp for the trade conversations that already happen there, with some order.

WhatsApp marketing for a film production house means using WhatsApp, and WhatsApp Business where it suits, for the messages with financiers, distributors, crew and outside units who already reach you there. GullySales works on the saved replies, the document sharing and the record that keeps these chats from being lost.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For film production houses

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Deals are discussed in personal chats”

A distributor or a line producer asks a question on a personal number and expects an answer that evening. When the chat belongs to one phone, the rest of the team cannot see what was agreed.

  • “Large documents travel badly”

A deck or a budget sent as a forwarded file loses its version and its cover note. The buyer opens an old copy, and you cannot tell which one they hold.

  • “Broadcasts to the trade must be restrained”

A message to a long contact list about a release reads as noise to a financier. Check the platform's current rules and send only to those who have asked to hear from you.

What we do

What we deliver for film production houses.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. WhatsApp Business profile

A profile with the banner name, a short description and a link to the slate page.

Result: A first-time contact sees who you are before they read a message.

  2. Saved replies for common asks

Replies for slate requests, service enquiries and crew availability questions, written to be edited before sending.

Result: The team answers the usual questions in the same words.

  3. Document sharing rules

A rule for sending links to the current deck instead of forwarded files, with a version name.

Result: Everyone shares the current version of a deck.

  4. Chat-to-record routine

A habit of noting the outcome of important chats in the CRM or tracker.

Result: A deal agreed in a chat is recorded elsewhere.

  5. Opt-in list for trade updates

A small list of contacts who agreed to receive project news, kept separate from private chats.

Result: You send updates only to those who asked.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

The WhatsApp messages a production house keeps ready for the trade.

Business profile line
The banner name, the type of work and the office hours, so a financier or outside unit knows whose number it is.
Saved reply for a service enquiry
Asks for location, dates, crew size and permits, so the unit's first message gets a reply that moves the discussion on.
Document hand-off line
A line that sends the deck as a link instead of a forwarded file, with a note on who may see it.
Chat-to-record note
After a deal conversation the team member pastes a summary into the shared record, since the chat itself lives on one phone.
Opt-in for trade updates
The line where a contact agrees to hear project news, with the date and the wording saved against their name.

Who it is for

This is written for these film production houses.

  • Mainstream Hindi and regional-language feature production houses
  • Independent producers working on festival and art-house films
  • Production houses attached to a star or a director
  • Co-production companies working with studios abroad
  • Service-production houses that shoot for other producers and foreign units
  • Producers of low-budget genre films aimed at digital release
  • Regional cinema producers in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, Punjabi and Bhojpuri

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • The team uses personal numbers and will not move to a business number, so chats would still sit on private phones
  • You have no contacts who agreed to hear project news, so trade updates should wait

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

Read the chats you already have

We read how customers write to you, which questions repeat and where a chat goes quiet. The repeated questions decide what gets automated first.

  2. 2

Sort the list and the permission

Contacts who asked to hear from you are separated from numbers that only sit in a phone book. We agree the wording new contacts will see before they say yes.

  3. 3

Choose the app or the API

One phone and a small team can stay on the ordinary app. Several people on one number, templates or a CRM link need the API through a provider, which is its own piece of setup work.

  4. 4

Write the replies and the plan

The greeting, away message, saved replies and handover rule are written in your words and approved by you. The message plan and its templates follow.

  5. 5

    Connect the record and test

Each link carries its source line and each chat lands in the CRM. We test on real phones, including a customer who asks for a person.

  6. 6

    Read the unanswered questions

A question the first reply could not answer becomes a new saved reply or a fixed handover. Stop requests are watched too, with the number's quality rating where the API is used, since both show a message plan that has gone too far.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should we use our personal numbers?
Producers will, because the trade does. Add a business number for enquiries and documents so the team can reply when the producer is on set.
Can we send trailers or project news to a contact list?
Only to those who agreed to receive it, and subject to the platform's current rules. Keep news short and tied to a reason for the recipient.
Can we share a script over WhatsApp?
Send a link with access control, not the file. A forwarded script leaves your hands for good. Name the reader and record the date in the shared record, and ask your adviser whether a confidentiality agreement should come first.
What if a financier prefers email and a call?
Follow their choice. WhatsApp suits coordination, not formal commitments, and some investors keep to email for their records. Note the preferred channel on the record and send anything that carries terms by the route the parties agreed.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Your next practical step

Tell us what you are trying to grow, and we will read it before we call.

Eight short steps, mostly taps. Skip anything you would rather answer on the call.
