InsurTech startups · CRM

Keep every quote, call and renewal date on one record, with consent beside it.

A CRM for an InsurTech startup is the system that holds each person's quote, conversations, consent and renewal date in one place. GullySales sets up the stages, fields and rules so no quote requester is lost between the app and the caller.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What CRM means

A CRM is the record where every enquiry, call and quote is kept against a customer, replacing separate notebooks, spreadsheets and memory. GullySales sets up or cleans an existing CRM and reports from it by enquiry outcome rather than by activity logged.

For InsurTech startups

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The app and the call team hold separate records”

The quote lives in the product, the conversation lives in a dialler or WhatsApp, and the policy sits with the insurer. A caller who cannot see the quote begins every call by asking for details again.

  • “Stages should match how insurance sells”

Quote requested, called, documents awaited, proposal filled, paid and policy issued are different positions. A generic sales pipeline hides where the buyer stalled and which stage needs work.

  • “Consent is a field, not a footnote”

Each record should show what the person agreed to, when and through which form. A caller then knows whether a WhatsApp message or a call is allowed, and your compliance officer can audit the answer.

  • “Renewal dates are a sales asset”

A policy sold last year is a conversation due this year. A CRM that stores the renewal date and the product lets reminders start from the record rather than from someone's memory.

What we do

What we deliver for InsurTech startups.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Pipeline stage design

Stages and entry rules for each product line, agreed with your sales and compliance leads.

Result: Every record sits in one clearly named stage.

  2. Field and consent set-up

The fields for product, family members, renewal date and consent, with required entries marked.

Result: A record shows the consent the person gave.

  3. Quote feed from your app

A route that sends each quote request into the CRM with its details.

Result: A caller sees the quote before dialling.

  4. Caller views

A screen for each role showing only what the role needs, such as the day's calls or the renewals due.

Result: A new caller can work from one list.

  5. Lapse and renewal lists

Saved views of policies near renewal or recently lapsed.

Result: Renewal work starts from a list, not a search.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries logged in the CRM
  • Data completeness
  • Reports generated from CRM data

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Fields worth keeping

Keep these fields on every quote and policy record.

Consent and wording shown
The sales team or journey fills it. It decides whether a call or message can go out and proves it if asked.
Cover for whom
Self, family or staff. The caller fills it, and it sets the plan questions and the next follow-up.
Quote stage and date
Quoted, comparing, proposal started, policy issued. The system fills it, so reports match the real sales path.
Renewal date
The service team fills it from the issued policy. It sets the reminder and the order in which renewal calls are made.
Question asked on the call
The caller types the exclusion or term the buyer queried, so the next person can answer it without asking again.

Who it is for

This is written for these InsurTech startups.

  • Online health and term insurance seller startups working as corporate agents or brokers
  • Micro-insurance startups for gig and blue-collar workers
  • Embedded insurance startups selling through apps and merchants
  • Group health and employee benefits platform startups
  • Motor and two-wheeler insurance renewal startups
  • Claims-processing and policy-servicing technology startups
  • Insurance comparison and advisory startups
  • Parametric and crop insurance technology startups

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Your quote journey and call team use different records and nobody will own the join, so a new CRM would add a third.
  • You have not decided where health details are stored and who can see them, so adding fields would create a privacy gap.

How it works

How the CRM work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Map the sales process

We sit with the people who sell and write down how a deal moves from enquiry to payment, including where it stalls.

  2. 2

    Agree stages, fields and owners

Each stage gets a name your team already uses and a proof that the deal has left it. We agree which fields are required at which stage, and who may change what.

  3. 3

    Build on a copy

Pipeline, fields and views are built on a trial copy where the CRM offers one, or in a separate pipeline where the plan allows. Live work stays untouched.

  4. 4

Connect channels, then switch on automations

Channels are connected first. Each automation is then switched on separately, so a misfiring rule is easy to find.

  5. 5

    Test with real deals

The people who will use the CRM run open deals through it. Gaps are fixed before the whole team switches over.

  6. 6

    Switch over and trim

Once real use shows which fields stay empty and which stages nobody uses, those are cut and the handover record is updated.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales management. A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3 · you are here

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Which CRM should we use?
The tool matters less than the stages and fields. Choose one that your callers will actually update and that connects to your product, and we set up the rules inside it.
Does the CRM hold health details?
Store only what you need and protect it, since personal and health data carry duties under the data protection rules. Ask your compliance officer or legal adviser what you may keep and for how long.
Does the CRM hold health details?
Keep them out unless your compliance officer approves the field and the access list. A health detail in a sales record is visible to more people than the claims or underwriting team. Record the question the buyer asked, not the diagnosis behind it.
Who should be allowed to edit a policy record?
Fewer people than see it. Callers need to add notes and stages, while only the servicing or compliance team should change policy details and consent. A narrow edit list keeps the consent record reliable, so set the access with your compliance officer at the start.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
