LegalTech startups · WhatsApp marketing

Answer the price question on WhatsApp so the order does not end there.

WhatsApp marketing for a LegalTech startup is the use of WhatsApp Business for enquiries, order updates and trial support, mainly where individuals and small firms buy online legal services. GullySales works on the replies, the order flow and the consent behind every message.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For LegalTech startups

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The price question is where orders are lost”

A founder asks the cost of a registration or an agreement, receives a PDF and goes quiet. The reply that states scope, what a person reviews and what comes next keeps the conversation.

  • “A lawyer's WhatsApp is personal space”

Cold messages to advocates on WhatsApp land badly, and rules on how lawyers are approached differ from ordinary business. For firms, a phone number is better used after an introduction than before one.

  • “Documents sent over chat raise confidentiality worries”

A buyer asked to send identity or company papers on WhatsApp may hesitate. A clear line on what to send, where to upload it and who sees it removes that worry.

  • “Trial support fits chat well”

A clerk stuck on the first upload would rather type a question than book a call. A named support number with a plain answer keeps the trial alive.

What we do

What we deliver for LegalTech startups.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A WhatsApp Business setup for enquiries

A business profile, greeting, quick replies and labels for enquiry, quoted, paid and stalled.

Result: Each enquiry has a label you can filter.

  2. Price and scope replies

Message templates that state scope, the human review step and a next action.

Result: A price question gets a complete answer.

  3. A secure document route

Wording that sends buyers to an upload link and not a chat attachment.

Result: Buyers know where documents go.

  4. A trial support line

A named number and rota for first-session questions from associates and clerks.

Result: Trial users have somewhere to ask.

  5. A consent record

Opt-in noted for every contact before broadcast or update messages.

Result: You can show when and how each contact agreed.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

Decide what moves to WhatsApp and what stays elsewhere.

Price question from an online buyer
A reply stating scope, what is included and what is not, then the next step. Log it, since this is the point where orders are lost.
Scope confirmation
A short message restating what the buyer ordered, kept with the order. It prevents confusion between the buyer and the reviewing lawyer.
Trial support question
A one-line answer and a screenshot on sample data. Never ask a trial user to send a real client document in chat.
Secure document request
A message pointing to your upload page or email, with the reason. It tells the buyer you treat documents with care.
Demo reminder
A short note with date, time and link, sent only to people who agreed to hear from you.
Opt-in record
Date and wording of consent, stored with the contact. It lets you answer a complaint and prove the person agreed.

Who it is for

This is written for these LegalTech startups.

  • Case and practice management software startups for litigation firms
  • Contract drafting, review and clause-library startups
  • E-discovery and document search startups for corporate legal teams
  • Compliance tracking startups for company secretaries and CFOs
  • Online legal service platforms for company registration, notices and agreements
  • Legal research and judgment-summary startups
  • Dispute resolution and online mediation startups
  • IP filing and trademark monitoring startups

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You have not decided how documents will be received, so chat would become the place where confidential files arrive.
  • Nobody is assigned to the business number, so enquiries from founders would wait and the order would be lost.
  • You plan to broadcast to a bought list of lawyers, which breaches consent and your own standing.

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

Read the chats you already have

We read how customers write to you, which questions repeat and where a chat goes quiet. The repeated questions decide what gets automated first.

  2. 2

Sort the list and the permission

Contacts who asked to hear from you are separated from numbers that only sit in a phone book. We agree the wording new contacts will see before they say yes.

  3. 3

Choose the app or the API

One phone and a small team can stay on the ordinary app. Several people on one number, templates or a CRM link need the API through a provider, which is its own piece of setup work.

  4. 4

Write the replies and the plan

The greeting, away message, saved replies and handover rule are written in your words and approved by you. The message plan and its templates follow.

  5. 5

    Connect the record and test

Each link carries its source line and each chat lands in the CRM. We test on real phones, including a customer who asks for a person.

  6. 6

    Read the unanswered questions

A question the first reply could not answer becomes a new saved reply or a fixed handover. Stop requests are watched too, with the number's quality rating where the API is used, since both show a message plan that has gone too far.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can we send broadcasts to law firms?
Only to contacts who agreed to receive them, and check the platform's current rules. For firms, a personal introduction first is more welcome than a bulk message.
Should we use the WhatsApp API or the Business app?
The Business app suits a small volume of enquiries. The API suits higher volume with several agents. We match the choice to how many conversations you handle.
How do we answer the price question on chat?
State what the fee covers and what it does not, and name the next step. Buyers of legal services worry about hidden extras, so a clear scope in the first reply keeps them in the conversation and gives the reviewing lawyer a clean brief.
Is chat acceptable for client documents?
Avoid it. Direct buyers to a secure upload page or to email with a clear reason, and say so on the order page. Client files carry a duty of confidentiality, and ad hoc chat transfers leave copies on several phones.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
