Live music venues and comedy clubs · WhatsApp marketing

Turn one WhatsApp message into a confirmed table or a booked date.

WhatsApp marketing for a live music venue or comedy club is the use of a business number to answer bookings, send show details and keep a list of guests who asked to hear about nights. GullySales sets up the account, the replies and the broadcast rules.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For live music venues and comedy clubs

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Guests ask on WhatsApp because it is where they already are”

A person planning an outing sends a message and expects an answer in the same app. A venue that asks them to fill a form or call loses the booking.

  • “A personal number does not scale”

The manager's own phone holds contacts, family chats and guest requests together. A business account separates them and lets more than one person reply.

  • “Broadcasts irritate when they ignore interest”

A message about a comedy night sent to a person who came for a band wastes goodwill. Tags by interest let each announcement reach the people likely to want it.

  • “Permission has to be real”

Adding people to a list because they once messaged is not consent. The venue should ask clearly, record the answer and make leaving easy.

What we do

What we deliver for live music venues and comedy clubs.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A business account set-up

A WhatsApp Business profile with venue details, hours, a catalogue of nights and a greeting message.

Result: Guests meet a complete profile on first contact.

  2. Quick replies for common questions

Saved answers on timing, tickets, tables, entry rules and directions.

Result: Standard questions are answered the same way every time.

  3. A group booking flow

A set order of questions for date, size and occasion, ending in a confirmation message.

Result: A table request reaches the manager with the detail needed.

  4. An opt-in and broadcast plan

A way for guests to agree to show announcements, with lists by interest and limits on how much is sent.

Result: Announcements go only to people who asked.

  5. Handover rules

A note on which messages the host handles and which go to the manager.

Result: Messages do not sit unanswered when someone is busy.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

These are the chats that turn a message into a table or a booked date.

First reply to a table enquiry
A quick reply with the date, table size and one question: how many are coming. It keeps the organiser from messaging three other rooms.
Booking confirmation with arrival details
Table name, arrival time, entry route and cover. Saves the door team from repeating them.
Opt-in for show announcements
Ask the guest to confirm they want updates and which night interests them. Record the answer so each broadcast reaches the right people.
Day-of reminder
A short message with doors and start time. It reduces no-shows for tables held.
Act's first enquiry reply
A friendly note that asks for a link to recent material and the date wanted. Keeps the booking conversation off the manager's personal chat.

Who it is for

This is written for these live music venues and comedy clubs.

  • Live music bars and gig venues in Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai and Delhi NCR
  • Comedy clubs and stand-up rooms with a weekly line-up
  • Open mic and indie music cafes
  • Multi-purpose performance spaces and black-box theatres that host gigs
  • Karaoke lounges and singing nights
  • Hotel and resort venues with a resident band night
  • Rooftop and terrace venues running seasonal music evenings
  • Venues hired out by promoters and comedy collectives

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Every request still reaches one personal phone, so a business chat would add a number without anyone to answer
  • You have not asked guests whether they want to hear from the venue, so a broadcast list would break trust
  • The venue runs one fixed show format with no changes to announce, so a broadcast has nothing new to say

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

Read the chats you already have

We read how customers write to you, which questions repeat and where a chat goes quiet. The repeated questions decide what gets automated first.

  2. 2

Sort the list and the permission

Contacts who asked to hear from you are separated from numbers that only sit in a phone book. We agree the wording new contacts will see before they say yes.

  3. 3

Choose the app or the API

One phone and a small team can stay on the ordinary app. Several people on one number, templates or a CRM link need the API through a provider, which is its own piece of setup work.

  4. 4

Write the replies and the plan

The greeting, away message, saved replies and handover rule are written in your words and approved by you. The message plan and its templates follow.

  5. 5

    Connect the record and test

Each link carries its source line and each chat lands in the CRM. We test on real phones, including a customer who asks for a person.

  6. 6

    Read the unanswered questions

A question the first reply could not answer becomes a new saved reply or a fixed handover. Stop requests are watched too, with the number's quality rating where the API is used, since both show a message plan that has gone too far.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Is WhatsApp allowed for marketing?
Check the platform's current rules on business messaging and broadcast use. We build around opt-in and keep the content to your shows and bookings.
Can a bot answer?
A simple automated greeting and menu can work, with a person taking over for bookings. We keep the human reply for anything unusual.
Can we send drink offers?
No. Alcohol advertising is restricted in India and rules differ by state, so we write about the music and the booking. Check any other content with your own adviser.
Can we message past guests about the next comedy night?
Only those who agreed to hear from the venue, and only about the kind of night they came for. Ask at the door or by form, record the answer and let them leave easily. Check the platform's current rules on business messaging before sending.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
