Podcast production studios · Lead generation

Find the hosts and marketing heads who are ready to commit to a full show.

Lead generation for a podcast studio means reaching people who have already decided to start a show, and telling the room-hire browser apart from the buyer of a full series. GullySales works on the pages, outreach and enquiry questions that bring in the second kind.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What lead generation means

Lead generation is the combined work of every channel that brings in a new enquiry, whether from search, adverts, referrals or a stall at an exhibition. GullySales runs these channels together and reports the number of enquiries each one produced, not the activity behind it.

For podcast production studios

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The room-hire enquiry and the series enquiry look alike”

Both arrive as the same message asking for rates. One person wants a room and a microphone, the other wants a show produced, edited and published. A studio that answers both with an hourly price loses the series buyer, who needed to hear what a run of episodes involves.

  • “Companies start from a founder's passing remark”

A founder says the company should have a podcast, and the marketing head is handed the task with no brief. They search for ideas before they search for studios. An explanation of what a branded show needs reaches them while the decision is still forming.

  • “Authors, coaches and doctors already have a following”

Individual professionals post on LinkedIn or Instagram and want a show to extend that audience. They are reached where they already post, with samples from hosts in their own line of work, not with a general studio advertisement.

  • “A lead that hears no sample goes cold”

An enquirer sent only a rate card has nothing to compare against the next studio. A full episode and a one-page season plan in the first reply give the enquirer something to forward to a partner, a founder or a brand manager.

What we do

What we deliver for podcast production studios.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Enquiry questions that sort the buyer

A short set of questions on the form and in the first reply: who the host is, whether the show is for a company, and how many episodes are planned.

Result: Each enquiry is marked room hire, production or branded show before a quote is written.

  2. Pages for each buyer type

Separate landing pages for hosts who rent the room, individuals who want a produced show, and companies starting a branded podcast.

Result: A marketing head and an independent host each land on a page written for them.

  3. An outreach list for branded-show buyers

A named list of marketing and communications heads at companies in your city, with a first message that offers the season plan instead of a rate card.

Result: A list and a message you send from your own account.

  4. A sample-first reply

A reply that opens with a link to a full episode and the season plan, then asks about the host's goal for the show.

Result: The first reply carries something the enquirer can forward.

  5. An enquiry source sheet

A simple sheet recording where each enquiry came from and whether it became a signed series.

Result: You can see which source brought signed series, not only messages.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries generated
  • Cost per enquiry
  • Enquiries by source

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

Capture enough on the first message to tell a room booking from a produced show.

Room only, or edited and published
Record whether the host wants a microphone and a room, or a producer, editor and publishing. The two get different quotes and different replies.
Solo host, guest show or panel
The number of voices decides the microphones, the room and the editing hours, so ask it before any price leaves the studio.
Audio only or video as well
A video podcast needs cameras, lighting and a longer edit. Note the answer at the start so the quote is not rewritten later.
Number of episodes planned
One trial episode and a ten-episode run are different sales. Write the figure the host gives and send the season plan for a longer run.
Company show or personal show
A company enquiry has an approver behind it. Record the marketing head's name and whether a founder must sign off.

Who it is for

This is written for these podcast production studios.

  • Hourly-rent podcast studios for independent hosts
  • Full-service production studios that edit and publish
  • Branded podcast studios for companies and startups
  • Video podcast studios with cameras and multi-guest set-ups
  • Studios inside co-working and media centres
  • Regional language podcast producers
  • Interview-show producers for authors, coaches and professionals
  • Mobile recording teams that set up at the client's office

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You have no sample episode to send, so every enquiry would be asked to decide on a rate card alone.
  • No one is free to answer a series enquiry the same day, and a host asking about ten episodes would move on to the next studio.

How it works

How the lead generation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Understand your capacity

We ask how many enquiries your team can answer well, who answers after hours, and what a good enquiry looks like. Without this, the system fills a funnel nobody is watching.

  2. 2

    Audit current sources

We read your call log, WhatsApp chats, enquiry sheet and platform dashboards. The baseline is recorded: enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order.

  3. 3

    Strategise the channel mix

Search and maps are chosen for people ready to buy, ads for people who are not yet looking, and content and referrals for trust.

  4. 4

    Implement capture and follow-up

Pages, forms, tags, the lead record and the first-reply message are built and tested end to end. We submit test enquiries ourselves before any media money is spent.

  5. 5

    Measure and optimise

Enquiries are traced to source and judged by what became orders, not by volume alone. Channels that fill the sheet with poor enquiries are cut back. How often you are reported to is agreed in writing.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should we advertise the hourly room or the full production?
Advertise the one you want more of. Room hire fills gaps in the calendar, while a full series brings a host who returns. Give each its own page and price so the enquirer chooses at the start, then compare the enquiries each page brings.
Where do individual hosts look for a studio?
They search for a studio near them, ask other hosts, and check who recorded the shows they listen to. A credit on a show you produced, shown with the host's agreement, reaches the next host directly.
Is a paid advertisement worth trying?
It is worth testing once the pages and sample episodes exist for the advertisement to send people to. Without them, the spend buys clicks that land on a photo of a microphone. Build the pages first, then test a small budget on the buyer you want most.
How do we tell a serious series buyer from a curious one?
Look for a topic and an episode count in the message. A buyer who names both has thought about the show. The reason is that curious enquirers ask only for a rate. Ask one question about their guests and note how they answer.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
