Television production houses · WhatsApp marketing

Use WhatsApp to send the one-page note a programming head asked for, nothing more.

WhatsApp marketing for a television production house is the careful use of the app for sending notes, reels and replies to people who already know you. GullySales works on message templates, contact lists and rules about who may be messaged.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For television production houses

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The trade runs on WhatsApp”

Agency planners, line producers and channel executives ask for a reel or a rate on WhatsApp because it is how the work is arranged. A house that answers there, with the right file, is easier to deal with than one that asks for an email.

  • “Broadcasting a showreel to a list backfires”

A mass message to programming heads reads as spam and may get the number blocked. The app suits one-to-one sending after a conversation, not cold broadcasts.

  • “Large files and links need discipline”

Reels are heavy. A short link to a hosted reel with a one-line description is easier for a busy buyer to open than an attachment that eats storage and may not play.

  • “Numbers need permission”

A buyer's personal number was given for a purpose. Messaging it for a different purpose, or adding it to a group without asking, spoils trust. Record consent in your contact list and check the platform's current rules.

What we do

What we deliver for television production houses.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Message templates for the trade

Short, tested messages for sending a concept note, a reel link, a brief reply and a post-meeting thank-you.

Result: Common sends can be done in a moment with the right wording.

  2. Contact list with consent

A list of buyers who agreed to be messaged on WhatsApp, with the purpose recorded.

Result: You know who may be sent what.

  3. Hosted reel links

Genre reels placed at stable links, so one short message carries the work.

Result: A buyer can open the reel without downloading a large file.

  4. Business profile set-up

A WhatsApp Business profile with the house name, description and catalogue-style links to formats and credits.

Result: A new contact sees a proper profile when your message arrives.

  5. Reply routing

A rule about who answers channel messages and who answers agency messages.

Result: Each message has a named person responsible for the reply.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

Send the one-page note a programming head asked for, and keep a record of it.

The concept page requested in a meeting
A single PDF or image of the one-page note, sent after a buyer says to send it over. Log the file and the date so nobody sends an older version.
A showreel link, not the file
Share a link to the genre reel that fits the buyer rather than a heavy video. Large files fill a phone and many buyers will not open them.
Opt-in noted before any further message
Record that the contact agreed to be messaged on this number. A producer's own contacts are different from a purchased list.
A reply to a branded brief
A first answer to an agency planner with a sample link and a named person. Many briefs now arrive on WhatsApp and the first useful reply is shortlisted.
Meeting confirmation and location
The time, place and attendees of a pitch meeting, sent the day before. It shows organisation and saves a missed room.

Who it is for

This is written for these television production houses.

  • Fiction serial and daily soap production houses
  • Reality and game-show format producers
  • News and current-affairs programme producers
  • Non-fiction and documentary series producers
  • Regional-language channel suppliers
  • Branded-content and corporate-programme producers
  • Format adaptation houses that localise international shows

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Your contact list was bought or collected without anyone agreeing to be messaged, which breaks the rules the platform lays down.
  • You plan to send showreels to a long list at one time, which the trade reads as spam.
  • No one is responsible for answering messages, so an enquiry would sit unread on a producer's phone.

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

Read the chats you already have

We read how customers write to you, which questions repeat and where a chat goes quiet. The repeated questions decide what gets automated first.

  2. 2

Sort the list and the permission

Contacts who asked to hear from you are separated from numbers that only sit in a phone book. We agree the wording new contacts will see before they say yes.

  3. 3

Choose the app or the API

One phone and a small team can stay on the ordinary app. Several people on one number, templates or a CRM link need the API through a provider, which is its own piece of setup work.

  4. 4

Write the replies and the plan

The greeting, away message, saved replies and handover rule are written in your words and approved by you. The message plan and its templates follow.

  5. 5

    Connect the record and test

Each link carries its source line and each chat lands in the CRM. We test on real phones, including a customer who asks for a person.

  6. 6

    Read the unanswered questions

A question the first reply could not answer becomes a new saved reply or a fixed handover. Stop requests are watched too, with the number's quality rating where the API is used, since both show a message plan that has gone too far.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should we send our showreel to a whole list at once?
No. Send the reel one to one, to someone who has asked or has spoken with you. A mass send risks blocks and reflects badly on the house. Use WhatsApp to follow a conversation, not to start new ones.
Is the business app worth using?
Yes, as it gives a proper profile, saved replies and labels. Check the platform's current rules on business messaging and contact permissions before you use it for anything beyond one-to-one replies.
Should a pitch be sent on WhatsApp instead of email?
Use WhatsApp to deliver the note a buyer asked for, and keep the full pitch in the proper channel the buyer prefers. A message is quick to read on a phone, but a formal submission may need an email trail for the channel's records.
How do we keep personal and house contacts apart?
Use a business number for the house and keep buyer chats on it, so a producer leaving does not take the conversation history away. Check the platform's current rules on business accounts before you move a list across.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Your next practical step

Tell us what you are trying to grow, and we will read it before we call.

Eight short steps, mostly taps. Skip anything you would rather answer on the call.
