Fundraising consultants · Lead generation

Meet founders while the raise is still being planned, not in its last fortnight.

Lead generation for a fundraising consultant is the work of reaching founders and promoters who intend to raise money, before they have chosen an adviser. GullySales works on the places those founders look, the questions they ask and the route from a first message to a mandate call.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What lead generation means

Lead generation is the combined work of every channel that brings in a new enquiry, whether from search, adverts, referrals or a stall at an exhibition. GullySales runs these channels together and reports the number of enquiries each one produced, not the activity behind it.

For fundraising consultants

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The best leads are not searching yet”

A founder planning a raise in two quarters is reading investor newsletters and asking peers, not typing a query. Reaching that person means being present in the incubator group, the founder community and the CA's office well before a term sheet is on the table.

  • “A deck on WhatsApp is a lead that has not been sorted”

A founder sends a file with the line "please share your view". It could be a funded company or an idea on a slide. Without a first question that sorts the two, every deck costs an hour and the real mandate waits in the same queue.

  • “Promoters and startup founders enter by different doors”

A startup founder follows other founders and investors online. A family-business promoter asks the banker and the CA. One lead route written for both fits neither, so each group needs its own message, page and referrer.

  • “Enquiries arrive at the worst moment to qualify them”

The call comes when the money is nearly gone or a round has just collapsed. A fixed set of questions about stage, accounts and cap table decides within the first call whether this is a mandate, a paid review or a polite no.

What we do

What we deliver for fundraising consultants.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Lead sources written down by founder type

A list of where startup founders, promoters and debt seekers each come from today, built from your own past mandates and enquiries.

Result: You can see which door brought the last signed mandate.

  2. A first-question form for every enquiry

A short form and a matching WhatsApp reply asking stage, sector, accounts status and the date the money is needed.

Result: Every enquiry arrives with the same facts attached.

  3. Outreach to the people who meet founders first

Notes for incubator managers, CAs and angel groups, prepared for your approval, saying which founders to send you and which to keep.

Result: A referrer knows what a good introduction to you looks like.

  4. A paid deck review as a doorway

A scoped offer for founders who want an opinion on the deck, so free views stop and a fuller mandate stays open.

Result: Deck opinions become paid work or a clear no.

  5. Enquiries traced to signed mandates

Each lead logged with its source and its outcome, so the sources worth more of become plain.

Result: You know which source produced signed work, not only calls.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries generated
  • Cost per enquiry
  • Enquiries by source

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

How the lead generation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Understand your capacity

We agree how many enquiries your sales team can actually handle well, so the system is not built to overwhelm it.

  2. 2

    Audit current sources

We check what already brings in enquiries today, even informally, before adding anything new.

  3. 3

    Strategise the channel mix

Content, search and paid channels are chosen based on where your buyers already look.

  4. 4

    Implement capture and follow-up

Pages, forms and a follow-up process are built and connected end to end.

  5. 5

    Measure and optimise

We track enquiry volume and quality and adjust the channel mix to match.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Should I buy leads from a founder database?
A bought list reaches founders who never asked for you and who may be unready. Check the platform's current rules and the data-protection duties on cold messaging first. Referrals and useful pages bring people who already want a consultant.
How do I stop unready founders taking my time?
Put the qualifying questions before the call: stage, accounts, cap table and funds needed. A founder who cannot answer them learns that from the form, and you keep the hour for a founder who can.
Can lead generation promise me mandates?
No. It can show you where founders look and make your answer easy to find. Whether a founder signs depends on the fit, the fee and the timing on both sides.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
