Interior design firms · Marketing strategy

Decide which project type and budget band to grow before spending on any channel.

A marketing strategy for an interior design firm starts with which project type, apartments, villas or retail spaces, and which budget band you want to grow this year. From that choice come the projects you put in the portfolio and whether Instagram, local search or architect referrals carry them. GullySales builds this with you and checks it against signed projects at every report.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What marketing strategy means

Marketing strategy is the plan for which channels to use, in what order and with what budget. This way, marketing spend is aimed at a goal instead of tried one channel at a time. GullySales sets this plan after the first conversation, based on where your buyers actually search and decide.

For interior design firms

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Budget band decides the right channel, not just the project type”

A firm targeting premium villa projects needs a different portfolio and channel mix to one targeting compact apartment makeovers.

  • “Capacity decides the priority”

A firm with a design team free this quarter is a better fit to push new enquiries than one already booked out for months.

  • “The plan states which project type waits”

A small studio cannot pursue retail, office and residential work equally at once, and the strategy says which comes first.

What we do

What we deliver for interior design firms.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Project type and budget band priority list

A ranked list of which project type, apartment, villa or retail, and which budget band to grow this year, based on your capacity.

Result: The team stops chasing every project type equally.

  2. Portfolio and channel plan matched to the priority

A decision on which projects to feature and which channel, Instagram, local search or referrals, suits each priority segment.

Result: Marketing effort goes toward the projects you actually want more of.

  3. Capacity check against the marketing push

A review of your design team's current bookings before deciding how hard to push for new enquiries.

Result: New enquiries are not chased faster than the team can actually take on projects.

  4. Referral relationship plan with architects and builders

A plan for keeping architects and builders who already send you work aware of your current capacity and project types.

Result: A referral partner sends the right kind of project at the right time.

  5. Strategy check against signed projects

The plan reviewed against actual signed projects and team capacity recorded in the report.

Result: The plan changes as soon as the real numbers disagree with it.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries against target
  • Cost per enquiry
  • Channel contribution to revenue

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to decide first

What an interior design firm decides about clients, fees and referrers before spending on promotion.

The client at the first meeting
A couple buying a 3BHK, a builder fitting out flats and a shop owner want different things. Look at who signed and stayed easy to work with, and aim the portfolio at that person.
The fee model you lead with
Decide whether you sell design only, design with execution, or turnkey. State it early on every page and quote, because a client who expects a free design for a full-price build is a mismatch you can avoid.
The architects and builders worth meeting
List who sent each signed project over time. Choose a few practices and builders and decide what you give them, such as a finished flat to visit or a clear brief for hand-over.
The area your site team can cover
Site supervision decides finish quality. Mark the neighbourhoods where your supervisors and vendors can reach without losing a day, and market within them first.
What a finished project must show
Choose the photographs, drawings and cost bands that go into each project page. Without a budget band, the portfolio brings enquiries you cannot afford to quote.
The projects you refuse
Write the smallest project value, the furthest site and the timelines you will not take. Turning down a poor fit early protects the work you are already delivering.

Who it is for

This is written for these interior design firms.

  • Residential interior design studios
  • Turnkey design-and-build firms
  • Retail and commercial interior design firms
  • Office and workplace interior design firms
  • Boutique single-designer practices
  • Modular kitchen and furniture-focused design firms

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is reply time, a follow-up sequence, the page buyers land on or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the marketing strategy work runs

  1. 1

    Understand business goals

We start with what the business needs to achieve this year, in revenue and growth terms, not marketing terms.

  2. 2

    Audit current activity

We review every current marketing activity and what it has actually produced.

  3. 3

    Strategise the plan

Channels, messaging and budget are set based on the goals and what we find in your business, not habit or competitor imitation.

  4. 4

    Implement the roadmap

The plan is broken into an execution roadmap, either run by GullySales, your own team, or both.

  5. 5

    Measure against milestones

Progress is checked against the plan's milestones, with adjustments made as the year unfolds.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How often should this change?
Checked against signed projects and team capacity at every report, and changed when either has shifted.
Who should be involved?
The lead designer and whoever manages client quotes, since both affect what the plan can deliver.
Should we offer a free design to attract clients?
Decide it as a policy and not case by case. A free design brings people who compare drawings and leave, while a paid design filters for clients who intend to build. If you offer it, limit it to clients who sign a clear scope and a site visit.
We have many projects in progress. When do we find time for marketing?
Fix a short routine inside project closure. When a job is handed over, photograph it, note the budget band and ask the client who else they know. Marketing then grows from finished work, without a separate campaign during a busy site schedule.
How soon would we see more signed projects?
Fixing quote follow-up moves first, since the enquiries you already have are the easiest to recover. Ranking for a search such as 2BHK interior designer in your area, and building architect referrals, takes months.
Do we need to advertise?
Most firms gain first from a strong Instagram presence and local search. Advertising helps for a project type with spare design capacity.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
