Structural and civil engineers · Local SEO
A secretary with a cracked slab looks for somebody nearby.
Local search puts a structural practice in front of the two buyers who want an engineer close by: a committee needing an audit and a plot owner needing sanction drawings. GullySales completes the Business Profile, gets the categories right, and writes pages for the parts of the city you cover.
Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What local SEO means
Local SEO is the work of making your business show up for searches that name your town or locality, such as a service plus an area name. GullySales sets up locality pages, local citations and map listings so nearby customers find you before a competitor across town.

Sales and marketing for structural and civil engineers, the overview.

For structural and civil engineers
Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.
“Testing labs hold the listings that should be yours”
Search for a structural audit in most cities and the results are material testing agencies. A design practice with a complete listing can sit above them.
“The category decides which searches you appear in”
Structural engineer, civil engineering consultancy and structural audit are separate things in a buyer's mind, so the profile has to choose and then list the rest.
“Committees search the locality, not the city”
An audit means several visits, so a secretary wants an engineer who can reach the block twice in a week without crossing the city.
What we do
What we deliver for structural and civil engineers.
Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.
A Business Profile with the right primary category
The work you want more of set as primary, with audits, retrofitting and sanction drawings listed underneath, and hours that match who answers.
Result: You appear in the searches that bring appointments.
Pages for the parts of the city you cover
A page per zone or corridor naming the kind of buildings there, their age and the work those buildings typically need.
Result: Committees beyond the reach of your pin still find you.
Photographs of site work and testing
Pictures of an inspection in progress, rebound hammer and core testing, and a completed structure, added to the profile on a routine.
Result: A secretary sees an engineer who actually visits buildings.
Reviews asked after audits and completions
A request made at the natural moment, once a report is accepted or a building is handed over, with the wording prepared.
Result: The listing carries recent proof.
Audit questions answered on the profile
What an audit involves, how long it takes and what a committee has to arrange, answered in the profile's question section.
Result: Committees arrive at the call already briefed.
A Maps report
Calls, direction requests and clicks from the profile, split between audit and design enquiries, against the baseline recorded before work starts.
Result: You can tell what the listing is producing.
How the result is measured
- Map pack ranking
- Local search visibility
- Enquiries by locality
Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.
What Google weighs here
How a plot owner or an apartment committee finds a structural engineer nearby, and what to fix first.
- Primary category
- Choose Structural engineer or Civil engineer to match the work you want. Testing labs and contractors are listed under similar categories, so a wrong primary puts you among firms that do not design buildings.
- Services named by the problem
- List structural design, structural audit, retrofitting, proof checking, soil investigation and NDT as services. A secretary with a cracked slab searches by the problem, so write each service the way the secretary would.
- Licence or empanelment
- Show the licence or empanelment your local body or development authority gives structural engineers, and the professional body you belong to. Say it in the description and keep the documents ready.
- Localities and associations
- Apartment associations search by locality. Add the localities you serve and say whether you inspect existing buildings there. A short page for each area you can reach supports the profile.
- Site photographs without client names
- Show testing, inspection and site supervision, with the client's consent and no building names or plot numbers. A photograph of rebound hammer testing tells a committee you do audits.
Who it is for
This is written for these structural and civil engineers.
- Structural design consultancies for residential and commercial buildings
- Independent structural engineers working with architects
- Structural audit, testing and retrofitting specialists
- Pre-engineered and steel building design consultants
- Civil engineering consultancies for roads, drainage and site development
- Proof checking and peer review consultants
- Geotechnical and soil investigation firms
- Project management and site supervision consultancies
Not for
It is not the right fit if.
- The practice works from a home or shared office that the owner does not want shown on Maps, so a public profile would expose the address.
- You take work only by referral from architects and have no wish to meet committees, so a locality profile would bring calls you do not want.
How it works
How the local SEO work runs
The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.
- 1
Write down what is true
Each branch's real address, signboard name, phone, hours and owning Google account go into one record you sign off. Every later listing is copied from it.
- 2
Search as your buyer does
We search each branch on a phone from points around it, in your buyers' words, and note who appears with what reviews and photos.
- 3
Fix the profile first
Ownership first, then name, address, pin, phone, hours and business type. Google can suspend a profile with extra words in its name or an address that is not a real premises.
- 4
Build the branch pages and match the listings
Each real branch gets its own page, and the other listings are changed to agree with it. We write none for towns without a branch, because Google treats near-identical pages as doorway pages.
- 5
Ask, reply and measure
We agree with each branch who asks for reviews, when and how. Results are set against the baseline recorded before work began, and the branch that is behind gets the next round.
Where this fits
Three pieces of sales work, in this order.
This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.
Step 1
Sales audit
Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.
Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.
Step 2 · you are here
Sales process design
One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.
Start here if every salesperson sells differently.
Step 3
Sales management
A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.
Start here if the team has targets and no routine.
