Fish shops · Search engine optimisation

Be the page a buyer finds when searching for a fish by name and by place.

SEO for a fish shop is the work of making your shop appear when a buyer searches for a fish, a cut or a locality on Google. GullySales works on the pages, the wording and the structure that tell Google what you sell and where.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What search engine optimisation means

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the work of getting your website to appear when a buyer searches Google for what you sell. GullySales builds pages around real search terms, fixes technical issues that block ranking, and tracks which searches actually bring enquiries.

For fish shops

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Buyers search by the name of the fish”

A household looks for surmai, rohu, pomfret or tiger prawns, and the local word differs from one town to the next. A site that lists only fresh fish never matches the words a buyer actually types.

  • “A shop page that lists nothing says nothing”

A single page with an address and a phone number gives Google little to read. A page for each kind of fish, with the cuts, the season and the locality served, gives a search something to match against.

  • “Search follows the day's stock”

The fish in the tray changes with the boat, and a website that never changes looks abandoned. A page that notes which fish are in season for the shop tells both the buyer and Google that the shop is live.

  • “Delivery apps hold the top results”

Apps appear above small shops for generic searches. A shop competes better on the specific fish, the locality and the cutting service, where an app has no personal knowledge to offer.

What we do

What we deliver for fish shops.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A list of the fish buyers search for

The fish, prawns and crabs you stock, each with the local names, matched to the words people type.

Result: A list you can compare with what your shop sells.

  2. A page for each fish you stock

A short page naming the fish, how it is cleaned and cut, and which dishes it suits, with your own photographs.

Result: Each main fish has a page a buyer can land on.

  3. Locality pages

A page for each area you deliver to or sit near, written about the streets and apartments you serve and not copied from a template.

Result: Each locality has its own wording and no duplicated text.

  4. Titles and descriptions rewritten

The lines that show in search results, rewritten to carry the fish, the shop name and the place.

Result: Your result tells the buyer what you sell before the click.

  5. A search report you can read

A plain account of what buyers searched, which pages they reached and which fish had no page.

Result: You can see the next page to write.

How the result is measured

  • Ranking positions
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from organic search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Who it is for

This is written for these fish shops.

  • Neighbourhood fresh fish and seafood shops
  • Sea fish and prawn specialists near the coast and the harbour
  • River and freshwater fish sellers
  • Shops selling cleaned, cut and marinated fish ready to cook
  • Fish and chicken shops in one counter
  • Wholesale and retail sellers supplying restaurants and caterers
  • Dry fish and cured fish sellers
  • Home-delivery fish sellers working from a small cold room

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the search engine optimisation work runs

  1. 1

    Audit and baseline

We record where the site stands today: positions, traffic, technical faults and the enquiries search currently produces. Nothing starts until this number is written down.

  2. 2

    Decide what to rank for

We map the searches your buyers use, in your words and theirs, and pick the ones worth the effort for your margin and your capacity.

  3. 3

    Fix the foundations

Technical faults first, because the cheapest gains are usually there. Then the Business Profile and directory consistency.

  4. 4

    Build the pages

A page for each thing you do, written to answer the question it is searched for, with a clear next step at the end.

  5. 5

    Publish and earn mentions

Content goes out on the calendar. Links and mentions are earned from real relationships, not bought.

  6. 6

    Measure, report, adjust

At the interval agreed at the start we report what moved and what did not, and change the plan when the numbers say so.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Is SEO different for a shop that sells perishable stock?
The method is the same, but the pages must stay honest about stock that changes daily. Write about the fish you sell through the season and leave today's availability to WhatsApp and the profile.
Can we do SEO without a website?
The Google Business Profile does much of the work for a shop, so begin there. A simple website is worth adding once you want to be found for specific fish and for the areas you deliver to.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
