Building material dealers · Social media

Your rate on a status is read by more contractors than any post.

Social media for a building material dealer runs on the phone in a mestri's hand. The daily rate status, the photograph of stock arriving and the finished house an owner recognises do the work. GullySales sets the posting routine, builds the broadcast lists, and keeps a record of what came back as an order.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What social media means

Social media is the ongoing posting your business does on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn to stay visible to customers and prospects between purchases. GullySales plans a posting calendar, writes captions and designs the images so the page looks active and answers what a visitor would ask.

For building material dealers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “A status is seen by everybody who has your number”

Contractors, painters and past customers all open it. No advert in your town reaches that list for nothing.

  • “Stock arriving is the post that gets replies”

A lorry of blocks being unloaded tells buyers you hold material today, which is the only question they have.

  • “Paint and tiles are visual, sand is not”

Finished walls, shade combinations and a tidy bathroom belong on Instagram. Aggregate belongs in the morning rate message.

What we do

What we deliver for building material dealers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A daily status and broadcast routine

Rates, stock and a delivery photograph posted at the same time each morning, with separate broadcast lists for contractors, painters and builders.

Result: Regular buyers see your rate before they ask anybody else.

  2. A photograph rule for deliveries and finished work

What the driver and the counter photograph, with the owner's permission for finished houses, so posts do not depend on somebody remembering.

Result: There is always something real to post.

  3. Paint and tile content for house owners

Shade combinations, finished rooms and before and after walls, posted where owners look while they are choosing colours.

Result: Owners arrive at the counter with a shade already in mind.

  4. Painter and mason groups kept warm

A plan for what goes to the trade groups: new products, counter offers on tinting, and notice of a price change before it happens.

Result: The trades hear the news from you first.

  5. Replies routed to the enquiry record

A rule for who answers a message asking for a rate, and how it is written into the site record before anybody sends a number.

Result: An order that started as a comment is not lost in the chat.

How the result is measured

  • Posts published
  • Engagement rate
  • Enquiries from social profiles

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Platform for this buyer

Where a contractor, painter or house owner looks for a yard, and what to post there.

WhatsApp groups for mestris and painters
Keep a trade group separate from retail customers. Post new brand arrivals, tinting counter offers and notice before a price changes. The action wanted is a reply with the quantity and site.
Instagram reels for paint and tiles
Show a finished room, a shade being matched at the counter or a tile laid on a wall. The action is to visit the counter with a photo of the room.
YouTube for house owners, in the local language
Explain how to check the brand marking and the test certificate on steel or cement, and what to look for at delivery. The action is to ask the yard for the certificate before ordering.
Google Business Profile posts
Add photographs of the yard, products by category, the delivery area and opening hours. A house owner searching nearby reads this. The action is a call with the site pincode.
What not to post
A rate that changed since the morning, a customer's site address with their credit balance, a house owner's home without permission, or a mestri's unfinished work. Say rates are confirmed on a call.

Who it is for

This is written for these building material dealers.

  • Cement and TMT steel dealers
  • Sand, aggregate and M-sand suppliers
  • Brick, block and AAC block dealers
  • Ready-mix concrete suppliers and agents
  • Paint retailers with tinting counters
  • Hardware and construction products retail stores
  • Plumbing, waterproofing and roofing material dealers
  • Multi-category building material yards

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You have no one to photograph a delivery or post a status at the same time each morning, so the page would go quiet after a few days.
  • Your buyers are almost all contractors who ring and do not follow pages, so effort belongs on the broadcast list.
  • The contractors and painters have not agreed to be tagged or shown, and posting their sites without asking would cost you their goodwill.

How it works

How the social media work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Confirm audience, platforms and access

We note which platforms your buyers use and check that the pages sit under your own business accounts, with you as owner and us as added roles.

  2. 2

    Review the current presence

We read the existing pages, the posts that drew replies and the gaps in posting.

  3. 3

    Build the calendar

Themes, formats and dates are set out for your approval, with space for offers and news.

  4. 4

    Create, approve and publish

Posts are made, approved by you and scheduled. Replies to the public are handled in your voice.

  5. 5

    Record enquiries and adjust

Enquiries are logged against the post or platform where they began, and the mix changes to follow what brings them.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Do we need Instagram for a cement and steel yard?
Not much. Put the effort into WhatsApp. If you have a paint or tile counter, Instagram earns a few hours a month because owners shop with their eyes.
How often should the rate status go up?
Every working morning, at the same time, even on days the rate has not moved. The habit is what makes contractors look for it.
Whose phone number goes on the post?
A number that is staffed at the counter through yard hours, not the owner's phone that rings on a site. A buyer who gets no answer on the second try calls the next yard. Name a second person who covers when the first is busy.
Can we tag the contractors and painters who built houses with our material?
Only with their agreement, and with the house owner's permission if the house is shown. Contractors often like the credit and may send you more owners. Never tag one who is in dispute over credit or who has not agreed.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Your next practical step

Tell us what you are trying to grow, and we will read it before we call.

Eight short steps, mostly taps. Skip anything you would rather answer on the call.
