Building material dealers · Local SEO

Be the yard that comes up when someone stands on the plot and searches.

Local search for a building material dealer is Maps: the listing that shows the yard, the materials stocked and the areas served when somebody searches from a site nearby. GullySales corrects and fills the Business Profile, adds the products and photographs, and keeps the hours and phone number right.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What local SEO means

Local SEO is the work of making your business show up for searches that name your town or locality, such as a service plus an area name. GullySales sets up locality pages, local citations and map listings so nearby customers find you before a competitor across town.

For building material dealers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The search happens at the plot”

An owner standing on a site types cement shop near me, and the three listings on the phone screen are the shortlist.

  • “Sunday morning is a trading hour”

Work stops for nobody on a house site. Listed hours that say closed send the call to the next yard.

  • “Your yard is the photograph that matters”

A picture of the stacked blocks and the loading area does more than any description of the business.

What we do

What we deliver for building material dealers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A Business Profile corrected and filled out

The right category, the number that is answered, real hours including Sunday, delivery areas, and the products listed by name rather than as building materials.

Result: The listing matches what you actually sell and when you are open.

  2. Yard photographs added and kept current

The stack, the loading bay, the tinting counter, the lorries and the board outside, updated when stock or the shopfront changes.

Result: Somebody searching sees a working yard, not a blank listing.

  3. Locality pages for the layouts you deliver to

Pages naming the layouts, extensions and villages your lorries reach, with the materials most often sent there and the usual delivery time.

Result: A site in that layout finds a yard that already serves it.

  4. Posts timed to the material of the month

Short profile posts on waterproofing before the rains, paint before the festival and block stock when a new brand arrives.

Result: The listing looks alive to anybody who checks it.

  5. Calls and direction requests reported

How many calls and route requests the listing produced, and what they turned into, compared with the month before work started.

Result: You know what the listing is worth in orders.

How the result is measured

  • Map pack ranking
  • Local search visibility
  • Enquiries by locality

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What Google weighs here

How a contractor nearby finds a yard for cement and steel, and what to fix first.

Category for the main line
Pick the category that matches what you sell most, such as building materials store, hardware store or paint store. Add one more only if it is true of the yard. Do not choose contractor or construction company.
Products by name
List TMT bars, cement grades, AAC blocks, M-sand and the like in the products section, with the brand where you are a dealer. A mestri searching for one item then sees that you hold it.
Pin at the truck gate
Place the pin where the delivery vehicle enters, not at the office on the main road. Add the landmark a driver will recognise. A truck that circles the layout twice makes a contractor ring another yard.
Rate asks
Do not publish a rate on the profile, because it will be stale by noon. Write that rates are sent on WhatsApp each morning, with the number. The searcher then contacts you, and the rate comes in your own message.
IndiaMART, Justdial and brand locators
Use IndiaMART for bulk buyers and Justdial for small sites. Check the dealer locator of each brand you stock, since an old address there sends customers to a closed shop.
GSTIN name and the signboard
Use the same shop name on the signboard, GST invoice and listings. Contractors verify a supplier before giving credit, and a name that differs between papers causes delay and doubt.

Who it is for

This is written for these building material dealers.

  • Cement and TMT steel dealers
  • Sand, aggregate and M-sand suppliers
  • Brick, block and AAC block dealers
  • Ready-mix concrete suppliers and agents
  • Paint retailers with tinting counters
  • Hardware and construction products retail stores
  • Plumbing, waterproofing and roofing material dealers
  • Multi-category building material yards

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Your listing shows a shop you have moved out of, and the address must be settled with Google before any other work.
  • The yard is a godown with no counter and no one to answer visitors, so a prominent listing would send people to a locked gate.
  • You cannot say which products you hold in quantity, so the listing would name items you do not stock.

How it works

How the local SEO work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Write down what is true

Each branch's real address, signboard name, phone, hours and owning Google account go into one record you sign off. Every later listing is copied from it.

  2. 2

    Search as your buyer does

We search each branch on a phone from points around it, in your buyers' words, and note who appears with what reviews and photos.

  3. 3

    Fix the profile first

Ownership first, then name, address, pin, phone, hours and business type. Google can suspend a profile with extra words in its name or an address that is not a real premises.

  4. 4

Build the branch pages and match the listings

Each real branch gets its own page, and the other listings are changed to agree with it. We write none for towns without a branch, because Google treats near-identical pages as doorway pages.

  5. 5

    Ask, reply and measure

We agree with each branch who asks for reviews, when and how. Results are set against the baseline recorded before work began, and the branch that is behind gets the next round.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

We have two yards. Should they share one listing?
No. Each yard needs its own listing with its own number and hours, because a buyer is choosing by distance from the site.
Somebody has put the wrong phone number on our listing.
Claim the profile and correct it, then check it on a fixed routine. Listings get edited by strangers, and a wrong number can sit there for months unnoticed.
Should the listing show the rate of cement and steel?
No. Rates change through the day, and a stale figure draws calls you cannot honour. Write that today's rate goes out on WhatsApp, with the number, and send it when asked. That also gets you the contractor's number and the site name for follow-up.
Should the godown or ready-mix plant be on Maps too?
Only if customers come there and it keeps public hours. A godown where only your staff load trucks is not a business location by Google's rules, so mention it in the description instead. A plant with a visiting gate and an office may list, with its own pin.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Your next practical step

Tell us what you are trying to grow, and we will read it before we call.

Eight short steps, mostly taps. Skip anything you would rather answer on the call.
