Mobile app development companies · WhatsApp marketing

Turn the late-night WhatsApp message into a scoped conversation.

WhatsApp marketing for an app studio covers how a business account greets a founder, qualifies the idea and keeps a quote moving through chat. GullySales works on the reply flow, the saved answers and the consent practices that keep messages welcome.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For mobile app development companies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Founders message at odd hours and read replies at once”

A buyer typing at night expects a reply that shows someone read the message. An opening that thanks them and asks one question about users keeps the thread alive until the team is back.

  • “Voice notes arrive as a pitch and leave as a blur”

Some founders explain the idea by voice. Someone has to listen, write down the idea, users and platforms, and confirm it back in text so both sides share the same understanding.

  • “A shared number loses the history”

When a studio uses one personal phone or a number passed between developers, a thread disappears with the person. A business account with labels keeps each brief traceable.

  • “Broadcasting to old enquiries risks irritation”

A message to everyone who ever asked about an app reads as spam. Contact only people who have agreed to hear from you, and say why you are writing and how to stop messages.

What we do

What we deliver for mobile app development companies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A business account set up properly

Profile, catalogue of app types, greeting, away message and labels for stages, so every thread is sorted.

Result: Your WhatsApp Business profile states what you build and how to start.

  2. Saved replies for common questions

Short answers on ownership, upkeep, process and what you need from the buyer, written to be edited, not pasted blindly.

Result: A set of saved replies the whole team uses.

  3. A voice-note handling routine

A step where the receiver summarises the idea in text and asks the buyer to confirm it.

Result: Each voice note produces a written line in the enquiry log.

  4. A consent and opt-out practice

Wording that asks permission before sending updates and gives a clear way to stop, aligned with the platform's current rules.

Result: You can show how each contact agreed to hear from you.

  5. A hand-off between chat and call

A rule for when a thread moves to a scoping call and how the notes return to the record.

Result: Every scoping call is booked from a chat, and its notes go back into the log.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

Treat the late-night WhatsApp message as the start of a scoping conversation.

First reply to a message
Thank the founder, ask the one-line purpose of the app and offer a call. A reply that asks one thing gets a better answer than a brochure.
Voice note summary
After a voice note, write back what you understood in text. It fixes the brief in words both sides can read later.
Call booking
Offer two slots in the buyer's time zone, stated clearly. Log the booking against the enquiry, not in a personal diary.
Sample app link
Send a store link or a short clip of an app you can show. The buyer gets proof in the chat, with nothing to download.
Permission for updates
Ask before adding anyone to a list. Broadcasts to old enquiries go only to those who said yes.
Hand-over between people
Tell the buyer when the chat moves from sales to a project lead. A shared studio number keeps the history in the studio.

Who it is for

This is written for these mobile app development companies.

  • First-time founders building a consumer app with a small seed budget
  • Restaurants, salons and retail chains wanting their own ordering or loyalty app
  • Clinics and diagnostic chains wanting a booking and report-delivery app
  • Schools and coaching institutes wanting a parent and student app
  • Logistics and field-service companies needing an app for drivers and technicians
  • Startups needing an MVP before a funding conversation
  • Companies replacing an app a previous vendor abandoned
  • Overseas clients outsourcing app builds to an Indian studio

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • The studio's number sits on a founder's personal phone, and the history would leave with them.
  • Nobody replies outside a fixed hour, and a founder who writes at night expects a response when the day starts.
  • You would broadcast to everyone who ever enquired, which is how a studio's number gets reported.

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

Read the chats you already have

We read how customers write to you, which questions repeat and where a chat goes quiet. The repeated questions decide what gets automated first.

  2. 2

Sort the list and the permission

Contacts who asked to hear from you are separated from numbers that only sit in a phone book. We agree the wording new contacts will see before they say yes.

  3. 3

Choose the app or the API

One phone and a small team can stay on the ordinary app. Several people on one number, templates or a CRM link need the API through a provider, which is its own piece of setup work.

  4. 4

Write the replies and the plan

The greeting, away message, saved replies and handover rule are written in your words and approved by you. The message plan and its templates follow.

  5. 5

    Connect the record and test

Each link carries its source line and each chat lands in the CRM. We test on real phones, including a customer who asks for a person.

  6. 6

    Read the unanswered questions

A question the first reply could not answer becomes a new saved reply or a fixed handover. Stop requests are watched too, with the number's quality rating where the API is used, since both show a message plan that has gone too far.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can we run broadcast campaigns for our studio?
Only to people who have agreed to receive them, and in line with the platform's current rules for business messaging. For a studio with a small client base, personal follow-ups do more than a broadcast.
Should we use the WhatsApp Business API?
Consider it when several people handle chats and you need records and automation. A small studio can start with the Business app. Choose a provider carefully and check what it charges before you commit.
How do we avoid sounding like a bot?
Use the buyer's name, refer to what they said and ask a real question. Automated greetings are fine if a person takes over soon. A reply that ignores the idea gives the game away.
Is it right to message a founder at night?
Reply when you see their message, but do not schedule your own messages for late hours. Founders write when they can, and a reply at the start of the working day is acceptable. Respect any request to stop.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Your next practical step

Tell us what you are trying to grow, and we will read it before we call.

Eight short steps, mostly taps. Skip anything you would rather answer on the call.
