CRM, lead flow and sales techniques · Inbound selling: explore
Open the first proper call with rapport, a recap and an agenda.
An exploratory call opener is the first two minutes of a discovery call: one rapport question, a recap of what you already know, and an agenda the buyer agrees to. It ends with a permission question. The page gives the script structure, the research to do before dialling, and how to self-score recordings.
Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

In one paragraph
An exploratory call opener is the first two minutes of a discovery call: one rapport question, a recap of what you already know, and an agenda the buyer agrees to. It ends with a permission question. The page gives the script structure, the research to do before dialling, and how to self-score recordings.
A rep at a Bengaluru accounting-software reseller calls a garment exporter and says, "As I told your assistant, we do cloud billing." The exporter, who has never heard of the assistant's message, says the call is a bad time. The rep had four minutes of a call and spent them on the rep's own company.
The opener has three parts. A rapport question, one line about the person or the place, drawn from their LinkedIn page, their website or the CRM history. A recap of what you already know, such as the enquiry they sent or the earlier conversation. And an agenda: what you would like to cover, how long it will take, and a question asking whether that works for them.
The sales head writes the opener once and each rep says it in their own words. Before each call the rep spends five minutes on LinkedIn, the CRM history and any news about the company. Reps then record three of their own calls, with consent, and score the opener against the script.
It replaces the opening that starts with the rep's company. It sits before the eleven-step rubric on the exploratory call rubric page, whose first three steps this page expands.

If you want this done for you
You have call recordings and nobody has listened to them.
The work
What this is actually like.
“Rapport has limits in India”
Hometown, college and shared cities open a call well. Caste, religion, politics, salary and family status do not. Stay with places, food, cricket and the weather, and use what the buyer has said publicly, not what you have guessed.
“The recap proves you listened”
Say back one thing the buyer said earlier, in their words. "You wrote that the dispatch sheet is still on paper" is stronger than any claim about your product. If you have no history, say so and ask for the short version.
“Ask permission for the agenda”
"Is it all right if I ask a few questions about how billing runs today, and then tell you what we do?" gives the buyer control. Buyers who agree to an agenda stay for it. Buyers who are not asked, hang up.
“Recorded calls are the only honest practice”
Role-play teaches the words. A recording teaches the tone, the pauses and the number of seconds you talk before asking a question. Record only with the buyer's consent and delete the files on a set date.
What we do
What you end up with.
The documents this topic produces, what each one is for, and how you know it is finished.
The opener script
Three lines on one page: the rapport question, the recap line with a blank for the buyer's own words, and the agenda with the permission question. The sales head writes it, with two variants for different buyers.
Result: Finished when a rep can say it from memory in under a minute.
The research note
Five minutes before each call: the LinkedIn profile, the CRM history, the company's latest news, the rapport line chosen. Filled by the rep, kept in the lead record.
Result: Finished when every live call in a week has a note filed before the dial.
The practice record
Pairs, who played whom, how long the opener ran, whether the permission question was asked. Done before any live use of the new script.
Result: Finished when each rep has completed the opener in pairs without looking at the page.
The recording score sheet
Three calls per rep: opener length in seconds, rapport used, recap accurate, agenda agreed, buyer's first response. Scored by the rep, then by the sales head.
Result: Finished when the rep's and the sales head's scores agree on at least two of the three calls.
Why us
Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.
Marketing and sales, as one job
Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.
The person on the first call does the work
No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.
A baseline before anything starts
Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.
The fee in writing, split three ways
Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.
No guarantees we cannot keep
The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.
One office, and we say so
Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.
