E-commerce · Fashion and accessories
A suitcase is bought once for years, so buyers read the reviews that say it survived.
Luggage is a durable purchase made rarely and with care. The buyer is trying to work out three things from a photograph: whether it fits the airline’s limit, whether it will hold what the family packs, and whether the wheels and the handle will survive the baggage belt. The brand matters, but reviews from people who flew with it matter more.
A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.
In one paragraph
Luggage e-commerce is the online sale of suitcases, cabin and checked trolleys, duffel bags and the accessories that go with them, bought for trips by families, business travellers and students. GullySales works on how your pages explain size, weight and build, how a suitcase is chosen for a particular trip, and how a once-in-years purchase is made again.
Buying is often triggered by a trip: a first flight abroad, a student leaving for a hostel, a wedding in another city. That gives you a window to reach the buyer, and a short one.

5 types of product
Each kind of luggage sells differently, so each has its own page.
Open the one that matches what you sell. It covers who buys it, where the sale is lost and what we would do.
- SuitcasesA family of four does not buy one suitcase, it buys a set, and the set is where you win.
- Cabin LuggageThe cabin bag has to be small enough for the gate and big enough for the trip.
- Checked LuggageThe big case gets thrown around by strangers, so it has to be built for that.
- Duffel BagsThe gym bag, the cricket kit bag and the weekend bag are three different customers.
- Luggage AccessoriesNobody plans to buy a luggage tag until the night before the flight.
Who it is for
This is written for you if you sell luggage online.
- Luggage brands selling suitcases and trolleys through their own site and marketplaces
- Manufacturers moving from wholesale into selling under their own label
- Sellers of duffel bags and soft luggage for short trips
- Accessory sellers of covers, tags and locks
- Retail shops adding online orders next to the counter
Not for
It is not the right fit if.
- A seller who cannot give outer dimensions and empty weight for each size
- Anyone who claims a suitcase is unbreakable or fits every airline
- A brand that has a reliable pattern of wheel or handle failures it has not addressed
How buyers choose
What decides who wins in luggage.
Size, litres and the airline
Cabin, medium and large. The buyer checks the outer dimensions with wheels and handle against their airline’s limit, and the capacity in litres against what the family will pack.
Shell, wheels and handle
Hard polycarbonate, ABS, polypropylene or soft polyester. Four spinner wheels or two. A telescopic handle that locks without wobble is the part buyers ask about.
Lock, zip and interior
A TSA-style lock, a double zip, dividers and a wet pocket. Buyers also look for how the case opens: front, clamshell or top.
Warranty and service
A warranty period, who repairs a broken wheel and how to claim, since luggage fails away from the shop. Reviews that mention service are read closely.
Where sales are lost
What usually goes wrong when you sell luggage online.
In the words sellers use on the first call.
“Customers say the cabin bag was turned away at the gate”
The listing said cabin size but the airline measures with the wheels and handle. The review says the bag does not fit, whatever the airline’s rule.
“Our product is the same as a dozen others online”
Hard-shell trolleys look alike in photographs, and the comparison is on price and on stars. Nothing on the page shows what is different.
“Wheels break and the complaint is public”
A broken wheel at an airport becomes a one-star review. A buyer who reads it never sees the replacement you sent.
“Buyers purchase once in five years”
A satisfied customer has no reason to return soon, and the next purchase goes to whoever is visible then.
The scope
The work we would propose for luggage.
Measured on purchases, conversion rate, cost to win a customer, average order value and repeat purchases. Anything here that needs a platform or tool we have not used with you is confirmed in the audit before it goes in the scope.
- Dimensions and capacity done properlyOuter size with wheels and handle, empty weight, litres, and a packing photograph, with a line that tells the buyer to check their airline’s current limit.
- Search by trip and travellerPages for cabin luggage for IndiGo, hard-shell trolleys for Europe trips, student luggage for hostels, luggage sets for a family of four.
- Reviews that mention the tripA request sent after a customer’s trip, asking how the wheels and handle held up, so reviews describe real flights.
- Service and warranty made visibleA clear page on what is covered, who repairs, and what a customer does when a wheel breaks, so the buyer sees the answer before the problem.
- Ads timed to travel seasonsCampaigns before summer holidays, Diwali travel and the university intake, with a stock-aware plan.
- Accessories at the cartCovers, tags, locks and packing cubes offered with the suitcase, for the buyer already planning the trip.

What the work involves for luggage
- 1
Follow a suitcase from search to the airport
In the free audit we trace a selling size from the search or ad to payment, then read the reviews and returns on the same product.
- 2
Make size, shell and service clear
Dimensions, packing photographs, the build panel and the warranty page go on the pages that already have visitors, before more is spent on traffic.
- 3
Match ads and listings to the trip
Marketplace listings, search pages and campaigns are set around who is travelling and when, with stock and delivery dates checked.
- 4
Set up reviews and the next purchase
A post-trip review request, an accessories offer and a baseline of purchases and complaints recorded first.
- 5
Measure against the baseline
Purchases and complaints are reported against the baseline, and how often is agreed in writing once the audit is done.
What we need from you
What to have ready before the audit call.
None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.
- Your store, marketplace and Instagram links
- Outer dimensions and empty weight for each size
- Returns and complaints about wheels, handles and zips
- Your warranty terms and your service process
- Sales by month, to see the travel seasons
Selling in India and abroad
Selling luggage beyond your own market.
Where you sell decides sizes, units, seasons and returns. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new country we start from your own sales and the platforms you already use.
Airline and size standards
US, UK and European airlines set their own carry-on limits in inches or centimetres, with different rules on weight. A page for each market shows both and tells the buyer to check their airline.
Service across borders
A warranty claim from another country is hard to honour. Many sellers limit overseas selling to a marketplace with a local returns route, and decide what to promise before listing.
Lock rules
Some countries’ security rules affect which locks are allowed on checked baggage. Your adviser or the airline confirms before a page says a lock is accepted.

Why us
Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.
Marketing and sales, as one job
Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.
The person on the first call does the work
No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.
A baseline before anything starts
Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.
The fee in writing, split three ways
Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.
No guarantees we cannot keep
The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.
One office, and we say so
Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.
