Colleges and universities · Digital marketing

Plan every channel around the admission calendar, not around the calendar year.

Digital marketing for a college is the plan that places search, social, portals, messaging and your own site in front of a student at the points where a seat is decided. GullySales builds that plan around your programmes and result dates, then measures it against paid admissions.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What digital marketing means

Digital marketing is the combined work of search, social media, advertising and website channels running together rather than as separate projects with separate people. GullySales runs these as one connected system so a change in one channel, such as a new offer, is reflected everywhere at once.

Last updated 6 Oct 2026. Rules for this trade differ by state and professional body, and they change. We describe restrictions in general terms, so check the current position with your own council or adviser before you publish anything.

For colleges and universities

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The calendar that matters starts at entrance results”

A student builds a shortlist on result night and locks options soon after. A campaign that starts after counselling opens is paying to reach families who have already chosen, while the weeks before results go unused.

  • “Each programme has its own result date and its own buyer”

Engineering, nursing, law and management admit at different times through different exams. One institution-wide campaign runs hot for one programme while another has no page, no budget and no one watching the enquiries.

  • “Clicks and enquiries are not seats”

A campaign that fills the form but never reaches a campus visit looks successful on a dashboard and costs the admissions office hours of calling. The measure that matters is the paid seat, followed back to the channel that sent the family.

  • “Spend spread across every platform thins out everywhere”

A college that buys a portal package, a newspaper supplement, search ads and social boosts at once cannot say which one filled the seats. Starting from the channels that already sent paying students gives a clearer base to build on.

What we do

What we deliver for colleges and universities.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. An admission-cycle channel calendar

For each programme, a plan that places search, portals, school outreach and social activity against the dates of its entrance results and counselling rounds.

Result: Each programme has a dated plan you can compare with its actual calendar.

  2. Programme pages that carry eligibility and fees

Pages stating who can apply, the fee components, approvals as worded on your letters and how to book a visit.

Result: A parent can find the fee and eligibility without calling.

  3. Search and ad campaigns set against campus visits

Paid and organic search aimed at the courses and cities that have produced visits, with budget moved towards what brings families on campus.

Result: You can see which ads sent families who visited, not only which got clicks.

  4. School outreach and fair follow-up routines

A record of every school seminar and fair, with each student contact entered and followed through.

Result: Every fair has a list of contacts and a result you can read.

  5. Source tracking down to the fee receipt

Each enquiry tagged on arrival and checked against the admission register at the end of the cycle.

Result: Your own register shows which sources produced paid seats.

  6. A review of the cycle for the next one

A written summary of what was tried, what sent paying students and where budget should move, based on your data.

Result: You begin the next cycle with a record, not a guess.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries across channels
  • Cost per enquiry overall
  • Channel mix by contribution

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the digital marketing work runs

  1. 1

    Understand the objective

We agree the one thing this campaign needs to achieve before choosing any channel.

  2. 2

    Audit available channels

We assess which channels are realistic to run well within the budget and timeline.

  3. 3

    Strategise the central idea

One message and offer is developed that will work across every planned channel.

  4. 4

    Implement across channels

Each channel receives its own adapted version, launched on a shared timeline.

  5. 5

    Measure as one campaign

Results from every channel are combined into a single report against the original objective.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Where should a college begin if the budget is small?
With the programme that has the most unfilled seats and the strongest fee. Fix its page, its search presence and its follow-up before adding a second channel. A single well-tracked programme teaches more than six thinly run ones.
Do we have to stop our portal listings?
No. Check your admission register for the portals that sent students who paid, keep those profiles accurate and review the rest. A listing with a wrong fee or an old course list can cost you applicants even when you pay nothing for it.
Can we advertise our placement record and rankings?
Only if each claim is current, worded exactly as awarded or recorded, and shown with the year. Advertising rules differ by profession and state, and regulators watch claims about placements closely, so have your adviser check the wording before it runs.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
