Educational institutions · Branding

Stand for something a parent can repeat to another parent.

Branding for a school or institute is what a parent says about you to a neighbour, carried by the uniform, the prospectus and the name on the gate. GullySales settles what the institution stands for, then builds the identity and the prospectus that say it consistently.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What branding means

Branding is what a customer remembers about your business beyond the product, including your name, colours, tone of voice and what you are known for locally. GullySales sets or corrects this once and applies it consistently across your website, signage and adverts so the business looks like one company everywhere.

For educational institutions

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Half the schools in your city share your name”

Most Indian cities hold several institutions with the same saint, founder or virtue in the name, so the mark and the wording have to do the separating.

  • “A coaching institute's brand is its faculty”

Students choose on who teaches, so the identity has to carry named teachers and their subjects rather than a slogan about excellence.

  • “The prospectus is read after the visit, by the father”

It is the document that goes home and gets compared with two others, and a badly produced one loses a decision the campus visit had won.

What we do

What we deliver for educational institutions.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A positioning statement the staff agree on

One page stating what the institution is for, which parent it suits and what it does not claim, agreed with the management.

Result: The office, the desk and the prospectus say the same thing.

  2. A mark that works on a gate and a bus

A logo and wordmark that reproduce on a uniform badge, a bus panel, a board at the gate and a small screen.

Result: The school is recognisable wherever a parent sees it.

  3. A prospectus built for comparison

Fee structure, board, transport, faculty and facilities laid out in the order a parent actually compares them.

Result: Your prospectus survives the kitchen table comparison.

  4. Uniform, signage and bus guidance

Colours, badge placement and signage rules written down so a new supplier does not drift from the last batch.

Result: Everything on the campus looks like one institution.

  5. Wording that stays inside what you can claim

Approved language for affiliation, results and facilities, checked against what your own records evidence.

Result: Nobody in the office promises what the school cannot show.

How the result is measured

  • Recognition in customer feedback
  • Consistency across channels
  • Repeat enquiries by name

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Positioning in one sentence

Fill this sentence in with the management, and the prospectus, the board and the admission desk will say one thing.

Who it is for, as a family
Name the family, not the grade range. For example, parents in this ward who want a CBSE school within a short bus ride, or Class XII students repeating a year for a medical entrance who need a structured batch.
What you teach and how it is run
State the board or exam, the medium of instruction and the kind of classroom in plain words. A parent should learn from one line whether it is a school, a coaching batch or a skill course.
What a parent gets that the nearest alternative does not
Pick something the staff actually deliver: a small group size, a teacher for each subject, a mother-tongue support class. Do not claim to be the best; say what a parent can visit and see.
The proof you can show
Show recognition, affiliation and approvals you hold, the qualifications of named teachers with their consent, and an open day. Quote results only from your own records, with the year and the batch size.
Words every prospectus uses and parents skip
'All-round development', 'top-class' and 'state-of-the-art' appear in every brochure. Replace one with a thing a parent can visit, such as the lab, the library hour or the school bus route.
The name and tagline test
Check the name does not clash with another institution in the district, can be said on a bus route announcement, and still makes sense if the trust or the founder's name changes.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the branding work runs

  1. 1

    Interview customers and team

We talk to real buyers, won and lost, and to people inside the business who deal with customers daily.

  2. 2

    Review the competitive field

We look at how the nearest competitors present themselves so the position is not accidentally identical.

  3. 3

    Draft the position

A first version of the positioning statement and messaging pillars is written and checked against what customers actually said.

  4. 4

    Test it against real conversations

The draft is tried out in a real sales call or two before it is finalised, since a position that does not survive a real conversation needs rework.

  5. 5

    Hand over the rollout brief

The final position, pillars and not-for list are documented for your team and any agency to apply consistently.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Can we call ourselves the best school in the area?
It is a claim you would have to support if challenged, and a parent discounts it anyway. Say what is specific and verifiable, such as your board, your class sizes and your transport. Your affiliation is yours to protect, so let the management approve claim wording.
Our institute is known by our founder's name. Should that change?
Not if parents already use it. For coaching especially, the teacher's name is the reason students enrol. Build the identity around it, and plan for what the institute says if that person is no longer teaching.
Should we add the board or the trust name to the school name?
Use the name on your affiliation and registration records, spelt the same everywhere. Adding extra words to look bigger can confuse the office and the parent. If the trust name differs, put it in the smaller line below, as your own records show it.
Is it wise to put a Hindi or regional name on the gate beside the English one?
Often yes, because many parents read the local script first. The two should be one name, with one spelling, on the gate, the fee receipt and the website. Check any naming rules for your board and state, as they differ and change.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
