EdTech startups · Search engine optimisation

Show up when a parent searches for the problem your product solves.

SEO for an EdTech startup is the work of making your pages the answer when a parent, student or school searches for help with a subject, an exam or a classroom problem. GullySales plans the pages, structure and tracking so the search traffic matches the buyer you want.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What search engine optimisation means

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the work of getting your website to appear when a buyer searches Google for what you sell. GullySales builds pages around real search terms, fixes technical issues that block ranking, and tracks which searches actually bring enquiries.

For EdTech startups

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Searchers name the exam or the topic, not the product”

A parent types a board, a class and a chapter, or the name of an entrance exam. A page titled with your app's name does not answer that search, while a page about the chapter and how the product teaches it can.

  • “Exam calendars decide which pages matter”

Searches rise before board exams, entrance tests and new sessions. A page for an exam that has just ended earns little, so the page plan follows the school and exam calendar rather than a flat list of keywords.

  • “Free learning content can drown the product page”

Many EdTech sites publish free notes and then wonder why the traffic never reaches a trial. Each article needs a clear next step to the demo class or pilot, or it only serves students who will never pay.

  • “Schools search differently from parents”

A principal looks for a learning management system, a digital classroom or a teacher training provider. These searches need pages written for the institution, with the pilot process and the data handling explained plainly.

What we do

What we deliver for EdTech startups.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Keyword map by buyer

A sheet that groups search terms into parent, student and institution, and gives each group its own page.

Result: Every target page has a stated searcher and a stated next step.

  2. Exam and chapter page set

Pages built around the exams and subjects your product covers, each with a short sample and a demo link.

Result: A parent searching a topic reaches a page that shows the product at work.

  3. Institution page for schools

A page for principals covering the pilot, the training for teachers and how student data is handled.

Result: A school buyer finds answers without writing to you first.

  4. Technical check of the site

A review of page speed, mobile display, indexing and titles on the existing site.

Result: You have a list of fixes in order of importance.

  5. Search tracking setup

Search Console and analytics set up so enquiries are tied to the page that produced them.

Result: You can see which pages bring demo requests, not only visits.

How the result is measured

  • Ranking positions
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from organic search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Searches your buyers type

Parents and teachers search for the problem first, and each search needs its own page.

class 8 maths app for weak students
A product page for the grade and the problem, with a sample lesson a parent can open without signing up. Say plainly which board the content follows.
how to improve spoken English for class 6 child
A guide page in plain words for the parent, ending in the demo class booking. The product appears as one way to practise, after the advice.
best learning platform for CBSE schools
A page for the principal covering syllabus mapping, teacher login and what a pilot involves. Name the boards you serve and leave out the ones you do not.
NCERT solutions class 10 science
A free reference page that answers the question in full. Check each solution against the textbook before publishing, since a parent notices a wrong answer at once.
online coaching for JEE foundation
A course page that states the age group, the class format and the trial. Avoid rank or result claims unless each can be shown and the student has agreed.

Who it is for

This is written for these EdTech startups.

  • K-12 learning apps and platforms sold to schools
  • Direct-to-parent exam-prep and tuition apps
  • Skilling and employability startups selling to colleges and employers
  • Language learning and spoken English startups
  • Early childhood and preschool curriculum providers
  • Coding and STEM startups running classes for children
  • Test-prep startups for entrance and government exams
  • Teacher training and school improvement startups
  • Tools for tuition centres and coaching institutes

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • The site has no pages beyond the home page, so a search guide would send visitors to a product that is not described.
  • The content library is still being written and has errors, so free question pages would put those mistakes in front of every parent.
  • There is no demo or sign-up route live yet, so visitors who arrive from search would have nowhere to go next.

How it works

How the search engine optimisation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Audit and baseline

We record where the site stands today: positions, traffic, technical faults and the enquiries search currently produces. Nothing starts until this number is written down.

  2. 2

    Decide what to rank for

We map the searches your buyers use, in your words and theirs, and pick the ones worth the effort for your margin and your capacity.

  3. 3

    Fix the foundations

Technical faults first, because the cheapest gains are there. Then the Business Profile and directory consistency.

  4. 4

    Build the pages

A page for each thing you do, written to answer the question it is searched for, with a clear next step at the end.

  5. 5

    Publish and earn mentions

Content goes out on the calendar. Links and mentions are earned from real relationships, not bought.

  6. 6

    Measure, report, adjust

At an interval agreed in writing we report what moved and what did not, and change the plan when the numbers say so.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Can SEO bring paying parents or only free users?
It brings searchers. Whether they pay depends on the page's next step and your follow-up. We build pages that lead to a demo or trial and track what happens after.
Should we publish free question papers and notes?
They attract students, and some of those students have parents who pay. Publish them only with a clear link to a paid route, and keep copyright in mind for anything you did not write.
Do you promise a ranking?
No. Search results depend on competitors and on changes made by the search engine. We work on the pages and measure the enquiries they bring.
Can we rank by publishing syllabus content for every board?
Publish only for the boards your product actually covers. A page for a board you cannot serve brings a parent or principal to a demo that fails, and the visit is wasted. Tag each page with board, grade and subject so the match is clear.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
