Cooperative banks · Buyer persona

Know the four people who walk into your branch before you plan another scheme.

A buyer persona for a cooperative bank is a written description of the kind of person who opens an account, places a deposit or asks for a loan, covering what they worry about and who they ask. GullySales builds these from your branch records and conversations with your staff.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What buyer persona means

A buyer persona is a plain description of the kind of customer who actually buys from you. It includes what they search, what worries them and who else they ask before deciding. GullySales builds this from real enquiries and past sales rather than a generic template, then uses it to write every page and advert.

For cooperative banks

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The senior depositor asks about safety first”

This buyer has banked here for decades and decides on trust, the manager's face and ease of reaching the counter. Rate matters, but a long queue or a rude reply ends the relationship faster than a lower figure.

  • “The small trader wants a loan without a lecture”

The shopkeeper needs working money before a festival and has no time for paperwork. The question is how soon the file moves and which documents are needed. A clear checklist matters more than a polished brochure.

  • “The salaried newcomer compares on a phone”

A young family new to the ward opens a salary account where the app works and the branch is near. They have never heard of the cooperative bank and are not looking for it unless it appears when they search.

  • “The adult child decides for the parent”

The son or daughter reads the scheme and books the visit for an older relative. They ask whether the bank is clear about charges and patient with the elderly. Writing for them is separate from writing for the depositor.

What we do

What we deliver for cooperative banks.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Four to six written personas

Each persona names the buyer's situation, worries, how they search, who they ask and which scheme they need, written from your branch records.

Result: Each branch has a page describing who comes through the door.

  2. A conversation with counter staff

A structured talk with the manager and counter staff about who asks what, which is written up and checked back with them.

Result: The personas carry the staff's own observations.

  3. A mapping of persona to scheme and channel

Which buyer is best reached by call, by WhatsApp, by search or by a printed sheet, and which scheme goes to which.

Result: Each scheme has a named buyer and a named channel.

  4. Wording for each persona

Opening lines for a call, a message and a page, written in the way each buyer speaks and in the language they read.

Result: Staff have a first sentence for each kind of visitor.

  5. A note of who is missing

The groups in the ward who do not bank with you today, such as new households and young traders.

Result: The board can see whom the next drive should reach.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiry match to persona
  • Conversion rate by persona
  • Content aligned to persona

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Who it is for

This is written for these cooperative banks.

  • Urban cooperative banks serving traders and salaried families in one city
  • Multi-branch urban cooperative banks across a few districts
  • District central cooperative banks working with societies and farmers
  • Employees' cooperative banks and credit societies attached to one large employer
  • Souharda sahakari credit cooperatives and other state-registered credit societies, which are not banks
  • Cooperative banks with a strong gold loan and vehicle loan book
  • Banks with a mostly senior citizen deposit base
  • Banks adding digital services and a first mobile app

How it works

How the buyer persona work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Understand the current view

We start with how your team currently describes the customer, since the gap between belief and reality is often the finding itself.

  2. 2

    Audit past enquiries and sales

We look at recent enquiries and closed deals to see who actually bought, not who was assumed to buy.

  3. 3

    Interview customers and staff

Short, structured conversations surface the real language, worries and triggers behind a purchase.

  4. 4

    Build the personas

Findings are written into short, usable persona documents rather than a long report.

  5. 5

    Apply to your marketing

We show exactly where each persona should change a page, an ad or a script you already have.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Do we need survey data for this?
No. Your branch records, the loan files and a talk with counter staff give enough to start. We do not invent figures to fill gaps; where the records are thin, we say so.
Will personas change what the bank offers?
They may show a scheme nobody reads, or a group nobody serves. Whether to change a scheme is a board decision. We work on how it is explained and to whom.
Are personas the same in every branch?
No. A branch in a trading area has a different mix from one near a school or a housing colony. Each branch gets its own version of the shared base.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
